Whether it be dining in or ordering out, my experience at Trattoria Romana is always pleasant. The food itself is exquisite and definitely up to part with the classic Italian cuisine. As far as dining in, my experience is always pleasurable. The staff and owner are very welcoming and attentive; frequently making sure you enjoy your food as well as the experience. Although pricey, it was well worth the amount spent due to the food, welcoming and caring faculty, and overall experience. The noise level remains at a minimum and never rises higher than your comfort zone or to the point where you cannot hear yourself think. In addition, Trattoria Romana has outdoor seating which is unsurprisingly pleasant and comfortable, especially in warm climates. Overall, my experience is never anything less than delightful, I recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking good quality food and service for a reasonable price. Not to mention their oven brick pizza is irresistible, definitely a classic.

Old country Italy feel to the place. Staff is polight and will give you a few minutes to make your selection, but that will delay your service by a few minutes as they are always busy attending to the needs of other tables. That said, they are polight to the families with kids and have high chairs. Chicken fingers with fries or a personal pizza for kids is the choice list. Bit for adults, the sky is the limit. I chose the Boneles Shell Steak with baked veggies. My wife and father got the seafood with panfried vegetables. And for desert, espresso and capuchin with chocolate covered ice cream and wipe cream. The price was $$$ but the porshen are large. Free parking lot in the back.

An amazing experience where all the food is freshly made, the chef greets you at the door, and your waiter is incredibly knowledgeable about the food being served. The food is delicious, authentic, and excellently sized portions. The only problem is deciding to pick from the menu or the specials! This restaurant includes a very long list of delicious specials to choose from. This restaurant is a bit pricey, but it is certainly worth the money. This place is perfect for a romantic date or celebrating a special event.

Great Italian food and pizza! Staten Island style pizza nice and thin. Also, these pizzas are more personal sized. I tried the margherita pizza and the Carciofi (fresh mozzerella, artichokes, garlic & parsley). the Carciofi was a delicious white pie. Trattoria Romana is a nice restaurant. There is outdoor seating in the front on days when it is nice. Complimentary salt and pepper polenta is served instead of bread. Id love to go back and try the pastas!

Everything served here is delicious and made with love. The owner walks around checking to make sure you enjoy your food. The wood burning oven creates fabulous pizza and specialty dishes and the soups and salads are fabulous. I have never had an entree that wasnt delicious. The wait staff is friendly and polite and very helpful in assisting with choices of food and wine, if needed. Everyone who serves you treats you like family!

The food was great and service exceptional. From the time you arrive you are welcomed as if you are a long time customer or family member..they brought out fried polenta, bruschetta, olive oil and bread while you wait for your food to come out. My hubby had ravioli with marinara sauce...I had angel hair pasta with marinara. Hubby had a plain cannoli for dessert. Loved it. Its cozy and lively. We are definitely going back.

Ive been frequenting the Trattoria restaurant for many years. Food is consistently excellent, service is attentive and unobtrusive. Prices have started to creep up as of late due to the success of the restaurant. Also can be crowded sometimes, but the service staff can handle it without missing a beat. It was recently named one of the best 100 Italian restaurants in the United States with good reason!

My family and I had dinner here for my birthday and it was amazing. The food quality, portioning, and even personal attention given to the customers is outstanding. Between the staff, the owner, the quality of the food and atmosphere I would recommend this place to anyone. I have been warned that it is packed on Fridays, so fair warning.

Only heard great things about this restaurant, but was disappointed with the food. Dont know if theyve changed chefs or kitchen staff however food was just ok or mediocre. We had a total of 13 in our party, and aside from one chicken dish all the rest were not impressed. Hope they go back to the way things were.

Trattoria Romana is the best Italian restaurant on Staten Island. The chef is amazing and keeps everything fresh and inviting. This is not a parmigiana house! This is the only place I would go for Italian food on the Island. It can get a bit crowded and noisy but well worth it for the quality of food.

Went there for the 1st time with my girlfriend. 1st time. Once served requested grated cheese for my meal. Waited never came back. She got up to get it herself. Felt rushed during the meal. Requested a take home bag. Never recd it. To boot waiter complained about his tip. 1st and last.

The food is outstanding if your willing to pay just a little more for freshness and quality. Only minor drawback is that it can get cramped in there. They really need to remove one table and you wouldnt feel like that.

The place is hit or miss. Its never terrible but it can be annoying when its packed and the service is lacking. Sometimes the food is great and other times its just OK. Not a bad spot but not consistently great.

It astounds me that this place is busy & gets high rating on zagat. Ive tried it 3x & I go back to my first impression. NOT GOOD. expensive slop. Many better choices on Staten Island.
