If you are in the NYC metro area you must make a trip to Dera! Its a store-front in a strip mall and has no ambience but it is the best Pakistani food (as distinct from Indian food, which is a dime-a-dozen) in the Metro area. The owner/chef is first generation from Faisalabad, Pakistan and is a master. Each dish was different, and wonderfully seasoned. The $9.99 buffet had three grilled items, but regardless of the price, the food is incredibly good, fresh and tasty. It was my first time there but the owner tells me that the items on the buffet are changed daily. Along with a couple of places in Queens, NY, Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Houston, TX, I would rate this as the top 5 Pakistani restaurants in the U.S.

Just the kind of place I love; quality food without overdoing the service. Authentic South Asian cuisine with real tandoori oven and chef. I had the goat curry, chicken curry, whole wheat tandoori roti and a variety of vegetables. Just clean, delicious, home style food nicely served with prices that cant be beat. I tried the "other" South Asian similar business nearby. Got sick. Save yourself the trouble; Dera is the place!

It was the worst waiting experience here today. Ordered chicken seekh kabab and bihari kabab with few naans and they took forever to get it ready. I waited almost 45 minutes for a small order. Guess what Im still waiting .would recommend if you could call ahead for your order atleast 2 hours so by the time you reach you dont have to wait.

Whenever I order a mix gyro in rice to go, the beef has been missing . It has happened 2 to 3 times. Its very annoying to open the box just to find that the there is no beef and only chicken. Please get the order right. Other than that, this is a good place. Prices are reasonable, quantity and quality is good as well.

I found a long black hair in my lamb curry, so I asked that they replace the dish and they refused. Disgusting establishment with odd service people who get extremely offended by something that was clearly their fault, I would avoid this restaurant at all costs since they clearly dont take cleanliness seriously.

The food is mouthwatering, full of flavors. The lunch buffet is great. I have been going there for almost 6 years and their food and service is great. I heard this week that they planning to start the Saturday and Sunday Brunch . cant wait.
