A absolute delightful and quaint Café. For Staci, it is one of those places in your own backyard that gets buried behind everyday life. I am not from Webster but, coming from a small community (aka: Refer to as the Boondocks/Hicksville by Staci), the Mad Hatter Tea Room & Café gives you the small town comfort with the taste of home. The Mad Hatter Tea Room & Café is another great example why Mom & Pop Shops in my eyes will always out perform the chain and expensive restaurants. The service, food, atomsphere and the overall experience was beyond excellent. Our only regret was not trying it sooner as they are moving their location to the old " French Quarters Restaurant " at the intersection of Goodman Street & Park Avenue, Rochester. We will be sure to visit. For those of you in Webster, my condolences for losing such great business. If you get a chance, I highly recommend you experience the Mad Hatter Tea Room & Café at 30 North Avenue, Webster, New York 14580. To the owner(s) and staff goes our best wishes and luck with your new endeavor. Look forward to visiting you again. Sincerely, Jay and Staci W.

I recently had lunch with a friend at the Mad Hatter Cafe. I enjoyed the food (sandwich and fruit) as did my friend (sandwich and salad). The atmosphere was pleasant and there were several other diners there. Unfortunately, the staff began to sweep and mop (wintertime slush from boots) while we were eating and although it was the end of the lunchtime day, I felt that they should have waited. As we were leaving, I noticed the owner or chef (Id seen her earlier through the kitchen doorway) at the table in the entry area working on paperwork. The decor was appropriate, but I felt that it was slightly dingy. I had high expectations and although I wasnt completely disappointed, I do feel that they need to work harder at being more professional and upscale. Also, for a tea room, I was surprised to be given a choice from 4 or 5 bagged teas. Tea rooms should have all the proper tea accoutrements including loose leaf tea and strainers.

Very cute breakfast place. Service is a bit slow, so expect to spend some extra time here. I went with friends, and both of their meals were phenominal (try the hollandaise), but mine was just ok. They initially didnt bring my food at all, then they brought out just the potatoes I had ordered, but none of the rest of the platter, and the potatoes were cold. The cheese on it was so cold, it hadnt started melting. Then after my friends were done, she brought my eggs and the rest of my breakfast (she did not stop back to check on the meal, so this was my first opportunity to ask for them to finish cooking my potatoes, which, of course, took a while.). So I had my meal late, cold, and in stages, with no apologies. I ordered pastries from their cases put front, and they were very expensive and very dry. Id try it again, and oh my goodness, amazing, fresh orange juice, but not an amazing first impression.

Really great food, especially liked the selection of breakfast and lunch with vegetarian options. However, we (party of 2) came here at noon on a Saturday, were told the wait would be 20minutes, that was fine. The wait was more than double that - still would be ok if it was communicated to us. It took 90mins from putting our name in to getting our food. In addition, the young host made for an unprofessional feel and when the young host was faced with an unhappy customer it was VERY awkward in the small waiting area - not fitting for a calm enjoyable lunch out - would benefit from an adult host monitoring the front room, and younger employees bussing tables. Besides the two aforementioned points, I hope to come back to your establishment and enjoy another meal soon - as I think your business has great potential for our community once some kinks are ironed out

I had very disappointing experience with The Mad Hatter Restaurant & Bakery recently. In early May, I put down a $100 deposit for reserve a space for a private party to be held early August. Within two days, I called to cancel the reservation. They refused to return my deposit on grounds they would not be able to rent out the space now. What? Cmon now! Four months ahead of the date and they tell me they wont be able to rent the space now? In fact, when I called to rent the space, they told me no on else had called about that date. I argued, politely, that this didnt make any sense. They refused. Truth is they just took my $ and ran! I wont have anything ever to do with them. Horrible customer attitude!

These Ladies really got their Tea going on! I was exceptionally surprised when I found this little gem of a place on yelp while I was in Webster for a wedding. My mom and I were just looking for something local and good for a Saturday morning brunch and man did we find it. When you first walk into the place it doesnt seem like much more than a counter of fresh pastries and teas, but the aroma was outstanding. The service was great. The food was great. The owners really know a lot about the teas that they were offering. My Eggs Benedict was literally the best I have had in years and I live around NYC. When people say they need "A good home cooked meal" this is the place that now comes to mind.

I come here almost every weekend and have a great experience every time. The best breakfast in town by miles, and great coffee too. I had a friend in from out of town and took him here the morning he needed to head back home. The restaurant was absolutely slammed and a big party of ~16 put their order in before us. We explained to the server that he had a flight to catch and she made sure that our order was taken care of quickly and brought the check out with our food. I would never expect a restaurant to jump us in line and was glad to see how good the service was. Cant recommend the Hatter enough.

I went for high tea with the full Monty package. I tried to make my appointment online, they emailed saying 3 was full, could I do 3:30. I replied of course. The day before I called to confirm, they didnt have it, but added me on. Day of I finally got my first cup of tea at 4, scones shortly after. Waitress said she would be right back with my fruit preserves, never got that. The couple seated after us got their salad menu first. We skipped salad, offered cheese. Apparently they forgot my apples, the whole reason I got that package. I asked to leave. Absolutely horrible.

Best Coffee shop in Rochester. The entire staff really knows what they are doing and provides a great overall experience. They roast their own single origin beans in house and the head roaster clearly understands how to get the best notes out of each different bean. The baristas excel at crafting Pour Overs and this really brings out the unique tasting notes they list. My favorite pour over is the Ethiopia Yirgacheffe. Very cool vibe inside; clean, simple and inviting -- a great place to come and get some work done while enjoying a coffee or a beer!
