North star is the perfect blend of local town bar and sophisticated, high-quality eatery. It has the warm, small town Cheers feel where the owner and bar staff knows everyones name, but the kitchen adds a menu chocked full of sophisticated home run dishes. Add in live music and you have a five-star restaurant. WHAT TO ORDER: You have to start with the truffle mac n cheese and / or the diver scallops. From there, go with the sea bass or John-boys chicken. The burger is great and not always on the menu so you have to ask for it specifically. Desert: the ice cream cookie sandwich is fantastic. Live music on Wednesday and Thursday makes this a ton of fun. WHAT TO AVOID: Not much. The place recently added more quality beer options but this would be another area to enhance further.

We ordered apps, they were fine enough, service was sweet, but then once the 3 pasta entrees arrived, they were rock hard and we sent all of them back. They came back again just as hard as the first round, not taken off the bill, nor anything else offered to make up for the poorly prepared food. the server told us it might be a different type of pasta (it was pre-made, thick, not rolled enough and frozen. The tastes would have been good (squash ravioli), and even after we told the staff that the food was just as unedible as the first round, the food was whisked away and we were quickly given the bill as though we spoke japanese and nobody could understand our disappointment. In hindsight, stick with an app, have some wine.

Delicious food, superb service. Very posh and the prices reflect that. We dined on the porch on a lovely evening; inside is darker, old-fashioned. Next time well sit at the bar which looked inviting. My companions had the wiener schnitzel and raved, my lobster special (diced asparagus, mushrooms, creamy sauce) was delicate and yummy. Desserts good, nice wine list. Not for a casual meal, nor a lean wallet.

Always great food and great company This is a local staple and we are always beyond satisfied with our meal and the staff at this restaurant. A great spot for a quick dinner, cocktails or some music. Highly recommend!

A quant and small restaurant with a bar. Was a wonderful surprise - prices were a bit high - but worth it as the food and service was excellent. They also had a band Thursday night which was lots of fun.
