Came here for the first time for a late night fix. So disappointed. The owner was sitting in the front watching TV while we waited for almost 10 minutes for someone to come take our order. Finally we went and asked him and he blamed it on a shift change but a woman who had been there the entire time finally showed up & took our order. The popcorn chicken was disgusting, looked like chicken coated in flour and nothing else. No one ever checked on us or brought us our check till we went up front. The owner didnt know how to run a debit card and it took another 10 minutes for him to figure it out so we could leave. Needless to say we will never be back. And Im usually very understanding as a waitress myself, but this was ridiculous

came here on a cold winters night in search of hearty comfort food the place is bright sparkly and relatively cheery looking there was a smattering of Christmas decorations there are flat screens on the walls cute enough lights we were served by a very friendly waitress sunny side up,eggs toast and hash browns cant be too bad and they werent except for the red peppers in my browns (I didnt know so I cant blame them) prices were fine for what we had they have a big diner menu filled with all sorts of diner foods I try to limit myself to simple when I eat at establishments such as this

My family has been going to PD for over 40 years. Its more than the food; you feel like family here. The owner has seen us through 3 generations of my family. Ive seen his children grow up. Every time I take my family, we get a warm welcome from the entire staff. The food is typical diner/restaurant fare, but well made and reasonably priced. Everything is clean, and the service is amazing. My personal favorites are the French onion soup and gyro platter.

Dirty looks. Thats what I got when walked in at exactly 6am. I asked if they were open and the older guy at the counter says, sarcasticly," yes, thats why the lights are off. But they werent off.". They sat me anyway and the breakfast was good. I check their website and it showed they open at 6am on Friday, so I was given a crappy attitude because they were lazy and werent ready to work. Ill pass on this place next time.

Horrible experience today. I normally come here and today they served me spoiled ham. Not only did they not apologize, they charged me for it anyway and gave me the same plate of food b/c I can taste the spoiled ham in the potatoes which means they served me the same food. I will not go every again and I would advise my friends and family not to go as well!

Oh, Plainview Diner. Im pretty sure that I spent a good portion of my formative years here (pre-renovation) and have been back many times since. If you know what a Long Island diner is, then Plainview Diner needs no explanation. If you dont, its good food, reliable service and an old-timey feel while you chomp down on breakfast any time of the day.

Menu is not intuitive and my waitress could not explain clearly. I got the wrong order brought to me twice and the scrambled eggs I ended up with were not fully cooked. The $2.50 orange juice came in a cup that was slightly larger than a shot glass. For what they charge, I expect better/more food. Never coming back.
