Today was my first time going to Julianos Espresso Bar. I was excited because it always looked so inviting from the outside. I walked in an ordered an iced tea. I paid for it and requested extra lemon from my female server (with olive skin, long dark hair, glasses and red lipstick). She gave me a very thin slice of lemon. I asked her if she could please give me an extra piece of lemon or two. I wanted to have some lemon juice to squeeze into my tea. She was abrubt and said she can only give me one more slice of lemon. I asked for extra and even offered to pay extra. She said no quite rudely and was very stern that she would only give me one more piece of lemon and that was it! She mentioned she needed the lemon for the rest of the day. Imagine that. She couldnt give me an extra slice of lemon because according to her statement "She NEEDED the lemon for the rest of the day". With a fruit vendor and supermarket directly across the street! Now this is no a big deal to post. But I chose to do so because no business that anyone patronizes should dictate to them how they should eat or drink what they order. If I wanted iced tea at home I would have made it there. I chose to patronize Julianos today and I didnt need nor want a nasty rude attitude to go with my iced tea along with a barista bullying me to have my drink in a way that she saw fit. Its my drink and I am paying for it because I want it the way I drink it. I will not patronize Julianos again. Rude obnoxious service is completey unnecessary and unacceptable. Everyone deserves to be treated kindly and enjoy what they purchase, especially when they choose your business to patronize. I give Julianos Espresso Bar a Zero!

If you know anything about coffe and especially espresso, than you know that their coffe is subpar quality at its best. The positive reviews are not honest. I am not from NY Im from the City of Champions which sadly suffers from bad quality coffe as well. What pisses me off with the smaller shops is that instead of offering a true gourmet coffe experience, they go and follow the Starbucks footsteps by offering a cheap quality coffe. In MA I go from time to time to Rider Studio Caffe which is also the Seven Cycles main bicycle store. Their coffe is out of this world. They offer George Howell imported coffe from South America and people gladly pay $3 for a double shot. In other words people will pay money for good coffe.

This is the kind of place that I always dreamed about in New York City, and when I found it, I knew it was like a second home. After I dropped off my daughter at the 92 Steet Y summer camp, Id come here to get a great cup of coffee or a cappucino and occasionally a muffin. For me, everything about this place; the decor, the way they make the coffee, the service, its the way it should be. It is one of my favorite coffee houses in the city. [Sadly, they do close earlier than most places and I cant sit there in the late evening or nights.]

Local gem. They have great espresso for unbelievable prices: a cappuccino for 1.45 on Wednesday, my espresso macchiato was less than a dollar, and regular coffee also less than your local Starbucks. You wont find a place for your laptop here, and dont try: this is a place from the past. Someone will smile, take a seat next to you, and start talking to you as if youre an old friend. Laptop room: n/a Outlets: n/a WiFi: no Bathroom: yes

Coffee cold, ac low, lights low, man who I guess is owner not very pleasant; no credit cards, no laptops allowed - try Starbucks on 2nd and 92nd - much brighter, cooler, more pleasant, and better coffee.

Ive heard there are other coffee shops in this part of the UES. I dont understand why anyone would go to them when Julis shop exists. Best and friendliest coffee in the UES. No laptops rule is a godsend.

A nice, neighborhood coffee shop. Its nothing fancy, but the friendly staff and good prices make it a worthwhile place to have your coffee while meeting friends or doing a bit of reading and writing.

Coffee is weak and bitter. Asked owner to taste coffee first. He refused, now I know why. Not even worth $1.50. It went straight in the trash after two sips.
