Sorry, but entering a building with electrical wiring sticking out of the building, without any form of protection around it, doesnt make me feel safe. Also, the lack of security exits on the backside of the restaurant, makes it a potential trap when a fire starts at the front of the restaurant. Ordering the Pollo Porte Vallarta, wasnt a success too. Everything on the plate tasted the same, except for the broccoli and paprika. Mexican food supposed to have a bite, and should taste like something. But this tasted worse than the rations Ive had in the army.... Less than approximately 150 grams of meat, some rice and some undetermined goo: $20. Bit much. Sorry to see, that the owners of the place dont take pride in what they serve, by making a customer feel safe. Maybe this is considered high cuisine, but, to European standards this is low budget food, for way too much money.

Lo Siento! I drove 30 minutes for a real Mexican restaurant. Sad I didnt find it. NOT authentic Mexican food! Salsa should be the top seller; usually the "identifier" of good mexican food but it had no seasonings, herbs or tang (no oregano, no cumino, no peppers, no cilantro!??); just tomatoes and chopped onion. The chips were too thick and cooked in old oil. The food is NOT true MEXICAN food. Canned and processed foods. Atmosphere pleasant. Staff had difficulty speaking english, and changed throughout the service. The fajita were pleasant, however the chimichangas (typically large) arrived as 2 small fried rolled soft taco covered in hot sour cream. *Plate presentations are poor, service is slow and gets frustrated if you ask for things. The margarita was ok (cuervo premix), appears huge but is a glass half an inch thick making it look big.

I always order the Bistec la tempiquena (correct spelling?) The flank steak is delicious, and comes with rice and beans and a enchilada of your choice (18$). The service is only exceptional from one waiter I like but can not remember his name. All the others are o.k. but they all work as a team so you can ask others for things if your waiter is busy. The margaritas are on point and sneaky so be careful lol. Id say price can be high if ordering steak but others are decent. Id say its the best Americanized Mexican place in Newburgh for sure. (And I absolutely am a food critic)

We were regulars here ( weekly ) for the last 2 years.......we were charged $ 1.60 extra ( always spend over a $100) for a little cup of extra sour cream......this is not a money issue....our charge slip was already processed so the owner deemed it proper to not come over to the table and to send the server over with a $1.60 in change for us. I was highly insulted by this and will never go back again.......obviously he did not feel it important enough to come to the table to discuss.

The service was good and the food came out quickly, despite the fact that the place was very busy. Its a nice looking, clean place. However, the food wasnt that great. The salsa was really watery and it was not spicy at all. None of the food was spicy and to be honest, it was a bit bland. Also, they put my tacos on top of my beans so it was impossible to eat without getting my hands covered in refried beans.

Eat here tonight. Asked for patio dining and at first the host was hesitant because she said may not have seating but then sat us and all empty tables. Ordered guac and it was bland, in fact both our dishes were bland. One pet peeve I have is tacos. Authentic tacos are not a hard shell. So I was disappointed with that. Service was pleasant although maybe be late they did not want to be there. I will return

Best Mexican food in the Newburgh area. There are a number of Mexican food restaurants in Newburgh, but most are low-budget and serve cheap food at a cheap price to accommodate the local clientele. But this is more upscale with good food and drinks and a friendly wait staff. It is a good place for a family dinner or a party of adults. Probably our favorite place to eat in Vails Gate.

I came here for the first time two days ago and Im back. I think thats says it all. The food and the service was excellent. I ordered the seafood scampi with a pitcher of the red sangria. Both are a definite must have. Try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed. BTW, you cant beat the prices.

The food wasnt bad, but I wouldnt call it Mexican food. The "burritos" were enchiladas but with flour tortillas instead of corn. They serve two salsas, a mild and a hot. The hot tasted just like tomato soup and is served warm. The mild tasted like a cold tomato soup with onions.

Wasnt a huge fan of Mexican food before eating here, now I love it and this is the only place Ill go to. The food is so good, the drinks are great too. The prices are fair based on quality and portions. If you live in the area and havent ate here, you should go.

Staff friendly, but thats the only place it gets stars. Food was bland and reminded me of wet dog food. And I dont know what the chefs obsession with onions is, but it is out of hand, even the watery salsa was 90% onion. Dont kiss your spouse after eating here.

Im not sure what restaurant the other reviewers ate at but the food here is terrible. Im actually surprise they are still in business. Maybe they got a new cook, but I dont want to waste my money going back once was enough for me.

The food was great but for half the price go eat somewhere else and you wont know the difference. Lunch is the best time to go, you get generous portions for the money. Dinner time, forget it, prices double and portions shrink.

Good food. Service needs improving. Nicely decorated, tasty food, but they just dont seem to get the order correct. Its quite simple if we request no sour cream.... been there 3 times. Will give them 1 more chance
