I wish there could be 2 different ratings, for which I would give the food 5 stars and the service 1... but I gave 3 as the average between them both. I go out of my way, past 8 other pizza shops to eat at Rowayton Pizza. The pizza tastes great and the fact that you can sit outside on their patio and enjoy it is a plus. The service leaves MUCH to be desired. The place is run as if it were the Caddys from Caddyshack were in a Restaurant. I had to wait an extra 30 minutes once because I was told when I got there to pick it up that my pizza was "burned" and they needed to make another one, while I watched 3 other Plain Cheese Pizzas walk out the door while I had to wait for mine. But thats not the kicker... I saw the 2 girls that were running the cash register being flirted with inappropriately and hit on by their delivery guy as he came back and forth 2 or 3 times, plus 2 of the wait staff joining in. Hey, all well and good for them with their summer hormones, but not fun to have to cover the ears of my 4 y/o daughter stuck waiting with me. The next time I went, I sat outside with my family. We ordered 2 large pizzas and only ate 1 and 1/2. We had the second boxed to take home since more than 1/2 the pizza was there. We went to our car in THEIR parking lot and remembered we forgot the left overs. We were gone 2 minutes from the table and we went back to it being gone. I entered inside and asked "Hey where did our 1/2 pizza go?" and got the reply "Oh, we threw it out." Seriously? After only 2 minutes? Not even an apology. It was too bad I already paid though I thought of stopping the charge. The place does well, so I dont think the owner actually cares about how its run. He probably owns a few places and "if it aint broke dont fix it" probably applies. The inmates run the asylum. If only they could be taught a bit of skills in how to better manage and run the place, or even just have a truly competent Manager on site, this place would be 5 Stars to me.

The longest I have ever had to wait for a pizza. 75 minutes of my life gone. Heres how it went down on Sunday, Auguest 31, 2009: My wife and I stood in line for 15 minutes, which we thought was reasonable if the pizza were really as good as all these reviews make it sound. It took another 15 minutes to get the waiter to take our order. Starting to get worried. After 15 more minutes, he brought out water and bread. 15 minutes later, he comes out, apologizes for the wait, and leaves. Water is now gone and were still thirsty. Another 15 minutes pass, and he comes out to apologize again. For those keeping score, it hsa now been 75 minutes since we arrived. Nobody else is eating either. However, there is a steady stream of take-out orders coming and going. So I tell the waiter that were leaving, and in the time it takes us to get up and get to the exit he brings our order as a take-out. I could have punched him. Basically, take-out orders are higher priority. So if you want your pizza in a reasonable time frame, do take out, mmmkay? How was the pizza? It was good, but Ive had better and definitely not worth a 75 minute wait. If I could have given this a quarter star I would have done so.

I was there 5 minutes and wasnt seated just told to sit where I liked. I liked that since I had my daughter with me. I was looking forward to getting pizza and something for her. She was crying because we were waiting. Then another customer came up. She was seated, given a menu and the house bread while I sat there waiting patiently. So I just got up and left.

Placed an order tonight... They forgot our side salad and some chicken on our pasta. Placed a call and they promptly fixed it. The manager actually took her time and fixed our order within 5 minutes and delivered it herself. Food was great and with service like that, well be repeat customers!!! Thank you lady manager, you deserve a raise!!! =)

Great Pizza, fun outdoor seating, with music on the weekends. Come early if you dont want to wait. BYOB, Wine store on the way to the restaurant. This is a perfect place for a summer Friday night after boating or swimming, etc. Laid back relaxed atmosphere and good food. Try the Four Season pizza, it never disappoints!

Very easy to find on the internet. I just typed in the town and pizza and there they were. The delivery guy is well-groomed and very polite. I ordered a medium pizza and fried calamari. The calamari was tender :) and the pizza was hot. I will be ordering from this pizza place again soon.

I have only been here a couple of times, but everytime, the pizza has been simply the greatest. It is not expensive, and the delivery is quick! Definitely a great to go for some amazing pizza!
