Before LI City, I lived in the Financial District above a Financier Patisserie. I was in heaven. We ate there every week. The coffee was good, the pastries were good, but even better, the food was good. Sandwiches, salads and pretty darn good breakfast. And, the place was quaint and pleasant and had a fountain and outdoor seating. Fast forward 3 years to LI City. We dont like Sweetleaf, the coffee or the food, so when we saw Cannelle was opening, we couldnt wait. Cannelle has not exceeded our expectations at all. It is nice to have but I long for better. The pastries are average, the deserts are average, the bread is good and the simple salami sandwich is good, we also like some of the gelato. The biggest deterrent though is the staff. They appear to be resentful, full of attitude and unbelievably slow. There will be 4 or 5 of them, yet only one appears to do anything while the others just move pastries around oblivious, or even ignoring, the customers. If you do not pay attention or defend your spot, they will take somebody elses order. This is a small, tight knit neighborhood and it is really unbelievable that the owners have not already corrected this. I have been so frustrated that I have just walked out. You could literally be the only person there and you will have to ask for help after 5 minutes of being completely ignored. Forget the berets and the outfits and get some hardworking people in there.

This place has some of the best croissants and pastries Ive ever had. I come here almost everyday because its on my block and I like the food. However, the service is awful. The staff doesnt ever greet me or remember what I order, which is the same everyday; a plain croissant. Ive even had a staff member that got very rude. I think that the management should step up and get the right people/training here to make it a better experience for customers. Also, Ann the manager should really be replaced or trained. She never smiles and is never helpful.

My friend and I just walked in here to get some pastries. Were pretty regular customers and normally this bakery does a good job . However this time my friend was standing at the counter waiting to order for a good 5 minutes while their three servers completely ignored him. Instead they started doing some cleaning. Are. You. Kidding. Me? When we tried to get their attention we get: "excuse me? Can you see Im busy?" Amazing rude and awful custom service. What a damn shame.

Love this French pastry in LIC! There is not much around our area when it comes to bakery or patisserie so this is surely welcome by the neighborhood. I love how it is family friendly, spacious and delicious at the same time! I really enjoyed their eclair and mango moose cake. Cant wait to try other pastries here!

This is a fantastic neighborhood bakery. They do both sweet and savory foods including single serve and larger cakes, croissants, quiche, and bread. They also do fantastic coffee. Its a great spot to grab breakfast and take a walk along the water.

The best patisserie in town! These guys know how to make croissants right. I also tried their chicken sandwich with blue cheese and its really something - I got hooked so much I am walking there every weekend for breakfast across LIC!

My neighbourhood bakery. Pastry and baked goods are good though not great. Their breads look quite good but I had never tried them. I would skip the coffee though, it made by an automatic machine, and tastes like it.

This outpost of Cannelle Patisserie is small but efficiently run. Delicious French pastries , pies and specialties are available for dining in ir taking out. They also serve great coffee and European hot chocolate.

This is one of the classiest coffee shops in LIC. My wife is gluten-free and they carry a few products for her. The pastries are amazing (great variety) and the people are very friendly. Love the place!
