A mixture of love and hate. Jade Garden serves, in my opinion, the best Americanized Chinese food in Ithaca. However, they serve very poorly. I have ordered from them at least 15 times at this point. They have completed two of those orders without error. I have ordered nearly the same time: Chicken and Broccoli, no Broccoli (yes, I know...) Extra pint of white rice. A drink. Always ask for a pair of chopsticks. The last three orders I have made have had the following errors, in some combination: 1) No rice. 2) Fried rice, instead of white rice. 3) No drink. 4) No chopsticks. In the last three orders, I have had seven of these occur. At the point where you make more than two mistakes per order, there may be a problem with your business. In the end, if I can find a single place around me that serves better Chinese food, I will switch there immediately, but as is, I am willing to put up with them getting my order wrong, as long as they continue to make good food.

This is a great place for American Chinese food, especially take out. The food is excellent, and theyre very fast, really nice, and totally reliable. The kitchen is peanut-free, if that matters to you. I order there so often, the lady knows who I am and hands me my food as soon as I walk in. Its always ready when I arrive, usually 15 min after I place the carry out order on Grub Hub. The prices are good, not super cheap but you get a large amount of food; one dish is enough for at least two meals. I usually get one of: egg foo yung, moo shu, mei fun (thin rice noodle based dish without much sauce, nice and light), or the Buddhist delight (tofu and lots of different veggies). The food has always been fresh and delicious. Lots of vegetarian options, which my wife appreciates.

Dont expect any assistance from the employees, especially over the phone. Maybe its because English isnt their first language, but theyre pretty rude. Last time I called with a question about delivery and the person who answered the phone either couldnt understand me or refused to answer a simple question. The conversation ended with (racism not intended) "I have other person on phone, you give me order now or you call later." Needless to say I didnt get an answer... or a meal. Oh well, the food is overpriced and gross anyways.

I just wanted to counter all of the terrible reviews already listed. Obviously this is not high class Chinese cuisine, but for something quick or take-out, its much better than the comparable $5-for-dinner-type places up on campus. I recommend the Hunan Chicken. The people there are friendly and the service is quick. If youre looking for a "dining experience," eat somewhere that charges more than $5.

People say the food ways ok but I didnt even get to try it because I was there a little after opening time to try boba for the first time and NOBODY was there and there were no lights on. I will probably never be able to go again because I was in Ithaca visiting family (going home today) and I live in North Carolina. And Im kinda upset, sooooo ehh

This is a small, family-run restaurant that is conveniently located near the Ithaca Commons. The lunch buffet is a good value, and if something is out, just ask and theyll make more for you. I particularly like the spicy tofu! Theyre nice folks, and seem to do quite a bit of delivery business.

I got the General SOS Chicken. Only at Jades this dish is served sans chicken. Just Breading. The day after was the only time in my life Ive had heartburn. And the food aint cheap. Youd be doing well to stay away.

I wish I never ate there too! I drove 2 hours for a concert just to spend the entire night in the hotel bathroom missing new years and the concert. I admit it was good going down but not fun coming back up.

Children and garlic sauce is my favorite because it comes with 10 different vegetable. Everything else Ive tried has also been good. Good price and delivery is always on time or earlyer then expected.

The food is so tasty and freshly made to order. The employees are very nice and friendly. Service is fast whether to go or sit down. Excellent Chinese restaurant, one of the best in Ithaca.

They now have their own delivery person. On time delivery (within 45 minutes) both times we ordered. Ask for the house special tofu with mixed vegetables, not on the printed menu.

I find it hard to note some negative reviews. The shrimp garlic dish is very good as is the house special mei fun. Try the hot and sour soup...it has a kick
