I had been going here for years for both take out and to dine in. But over the last several months this place has quickly gone downhill. Most recently I had an issue with a take out order which contained a small order of chicken fried rice. I had asked for a small order over the phone but they gave me a large. No big deal right?....WRONG! When I mentioned it to the man working the register he yelled at me...YES, HE YELLED AT ME!!! Loud enough to startle people who were sitting down eating. They obviously stopped eating and turned around in shock. He said that I did ask for a large order, and insisted I pay for it. Keep in mind we are talking about a difference of $2.50. Normally I would have just paid for it, but after being yelled at that wasnt going to happen. After he changed the price and charged me less, he took the bags from me and started walking to the back. When I asked him what he was doing, he yelled at me AGAIN. "YOU PAID FOR A SMALL ORDER, SO YOURE ONLY GETTING A SMALL ORDER!!!" Again people turned to look. He was going into the back to transfer my rice into a smaller container!!! For fear of what he was going to do to my food, i grabbed the bags back from him and gave him $2.50, and made it very clear that I would never visit this restaurant again. This guy clearly has anger issues. There was a look of crazy in his eyes. I eat out and get take out quite frequently, and have never experienced anything like this. And this is not the first time Ive had issues here lately. From clueless and obnoxious wait staff, to being charged extra for things like soup noodles, I have left this restaurant with a bad taste in my mouth on multiple occasions. STAY AWAY from this place. They do not deserve to be in business.

For 3 years in a row, they have increased prices. WAY MORE than normal inflation. For example, just this year hot and sour soup increased price from $4.40 to about $4.95. And the Crispy duck increase $2.25! All menu prices increased 10% - 25%. Chinese food, at least, the kind that Tofu serves is a common good. It isnt hard to find a chinese takeout. So theres no point to pay so much more for less. That brings me to my next point. They have been giving less and less food in the takeout containers. They charge more and more every year but always give less. The only good thing is that their quality and taste of food hasnt changed. If I order a hot and sour I get almost the same thing day to day unlike other takeout stores. But at this point I am willing to risk it elsewhere. Final personal story: Once in the summer we ordered a lao mein and it had a bug in it (looked like a beetle of some sort) we had a bit of it before finding it. So we promptly took it back because ... obviously bug in food. It wasnt on purpose probably since it wasnt a normal kitchen bug like a cockroach. So we simply asked for a refund. They management there asserted that we put the bug there to get a refund for our lao mein... Really? You really think that lowly of us that we need to put a bug into our own food to get refunds?

Ive been going to Tofu for 20 years. The food has always been consistent - not great but reliable. Recently, it changed owners so I decided to give it a shot. The inside has been redone, however the menus are the same and look 20 years old. I ordered the shrimp with garlic sauce, something that I have ordered many times. It was OK (the portion was on the small side). When I went home about an hour later I started getting the symptoms of food poisoning (I wont disgust you with the details). Ive only gotten food poisoning one time before, however I do know the symptoms. You may want to give them the benefit of the doubt, however I am done with them.

My wife and I used to eat here all the time. It was convenient and the food was decent enough. However, because of an incident, we havent been back in over 15 years. Upon leaving the restaurant to get into my car, I felt like I stepped in something. Looking down it appeared that someone spilled a chocolate milk shake that I did not see. Only it wasnt a milk shake. Apparently their septic system was overflowing and I stepped in the mashed up poo of 1000 customers...needless to say by the third wiff I was loosing my dinner I just paid for...and a pair of new boat shoes.

Absolutely terrible, I wish i could give 0 stars. Where to start? Perhaps with the undercooked wontons, or maybe the old chicken that was hard in my chicken teriyaki, Or perhaps it was my husbands order which was...you guessed it, also undercooked. The owner did offer to replace my order at no charge as this was take out but I wouldnt eat this food even if it was free.... which is what was offered. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH.

I mean the food was good & all but this delivery guy had an attitude and complained about his tip. I also asked them to come to my door in the back of the house to avoid my landlord and of course didnt listen and went banging on my landlord door late at night... I stressed over the phone & he said yea ok over the phone and hung up on me then comes with the attitude ... Can you say anger issues ... Cannot follow simple directions .. Smh

Food is good but they need someone who speaks and understands English clearly working the phone. Very difficult placing a take out order because of this. I dont like the new take out menu. Its very difficult finding all time favorites. If you call for take out have fun trying to order!

the new decor is somewhat of a refreshing look. its about time ownership give back something to the customer. food was good as usual, ive inquired about the sushi, they are in the process of finding a good chef. but overall my experience was good. worth a shot.

Fast delivery, but the rolls were small and the black bean sauce was only OK. Plus, the lady on the phone had a very difficult time understanding our address -- comically poor communication. Ill probably order elsewhere next time.

I ordered a sushi dish without any spicy sauce and after I tasted it was super spicy, the chef yelled at us telling us that it was not spicy, he was very rude instead of accommodating his customers, he rather yell at them. Rude.
