As a Korean, I have high expectations about Korean food. My experience here at the Kimchee was beyond my expectations! I came here with my boyfriend and we got the Kalbi and Chicken wings. The beef was so tender you can just tell they use high quality meat. Chicken wings were spicy but tasted just about right with so much flavor. Ive been to lots of Korean restaurants in NYC, however, I can taste the heavy MSG in food in K-town. Most of the restaurant in K-town makes their food super sweet and salty, so I am not a big fan of their food as a Korean person. But here in Kimchee Restaurant, I can clearly feel that they do not use MSG or too much spice. Their food taste like the meal my mom and grandma used to cook when I lived in Korea.Thats why I keep coming back to this place. I wish I lived close to this place. The lady server Sylvia is a very sweet and friendly person! Even if they are busy, she never hesitates to explain fully on how to eat Korean BBQ. I see some negative reviews about their service, and I guess it comes from some miss communications (Some of their servers dont speak fluent English I guess...). I will definitely come back with a group of friends for my birthday party. I actually wont mind coming alone at all too. Environment is great, staff is friendly, food is fantastic. Highly recommended!!!

Ive been trying to eat at this place for a long time because I heard it was good from a couple of people...They couldnt have been more WRONG!! Went there with a party of 7, did not know what to order, waiter didnt recommend anything..Basically we ordered appetizers which didnt come out till after the dinner came out, which was the bbq prime short ribs which they cook at your tables grill. Unfortunately, they didnt end up cooking it at our table, instead they put it on the grill, cooked it for a minute and left... the meat was burning which left us to try to cook it on our own..the outcome, no matter how long or short we cooked the meat for, it basically tasted like rubber. The Service was Terrible! They brought out 4 of the 7 bowls of rice and we had to constantly ask for the other 3. Salad was basically Lettuce and thats it..At one point we asked if it was possible to change a plain rice order to a mixed vegetable rice order and the response we got was "no thats impossible" WTF is that!?! Oh and for the price which was pretty expensive your much better off going somewhere with better quality food, atmosphere and service...

This is the only Korean restaurant in the area which is why I continued to eat here (the food is not so good) but will NEVER again after this time. THE OWNER TRIED TO RIP US OFF. We ordered lunch for delivery and the owner arrives with it. My Korean co-worker, C, took the food and asked for the total. The owner said $33. C thought it was weird that it was $33 even so he asked for the receipt. The owner then says its $32. C insists on seeing the receipt and finally the owner gives in. The total was $30.49. We have always tipped really well in the past; last time we gave him $5. There was no reason for the owner to do what he did. Shame on him. Will not deal with this shady establishment or owner ever again. Plus they forgot my rice. And the 2 bulgogi lunch specials we got were plates of onions and peppers, a few small pieces of meat only. I called them back to address this issue and spoke with a nice girl. She translated for the owner and he continued to deny doing that. Conversation just kept dragging on and in the end she asked what I want to do. I just told them I will never order from them again.

This place was just terrible..No other way to describe it. The lowlights include: 1) The samplings on the starter tray they brought out were bland at best. 2) The tray of bulgogi had very little flavor and was rubbery.. 3) When the bulgogi was brought with the rice, the rice was too clumpy and stuck to the clay pot. 4) The kai bi cuts were just terrible-They were all fatty and rubbery. 5) The grilled chicken was bland and tasted like something that came out of a frozen dinner 6) This place is a ripoff. Heck, if you cut the prices in half, I still think it would be overpriced, relative to the poor quality of meats that they offer. If you want to introduce yourself to solid Korean cuisine at a reasonable price, I would recommend heading over to Flushing, Queens and trying out Picnic Garden BBQ on 149th st & Northern Boulevard. If I remember correctly, their all-you-can eat lunch special is about $12 and dinner is about $24.

Kim Chee is very authentic and has great service. Prices are good. What takes this place down just one star for me is that the food is not quite as good as places in K-Town in Manhattan or especially in Woodside or Murray Hill Queens. Its all good, but some things are just not quite to my taste. For example, the jjigae is usually a little sweet. However, still this place is a pretty regular spot for us.

Been there like 5 times. Food is swmi decent. There are so cheap with servings. Only about 4 rypes of vegetables in extremely small portions. They wont provide sauces unless you specifically add them. If tou ask them to refill a veggie more than once they claim they ran out of it. Absolutely ridiculous. For the prices they charge I rather stick to korean town even if they are a walk away from me.

We showed up with a large group. This was our first time at a korean bbq place and we all loved it. The staff was excellent as well as the food. They helped everyone understand the items on the menu and offered suggestions on what to order. Would definitely go back to this place.

Amazing authentic Korean food. Always spot on and delicious! Love their Bi bim bap, seafood pancake, and BBQ. The list can go on and on. Its got a great mom and pop feel with emphasis on flavorful dishes. Very filling and satisfying every time!

Gotta check out Kim Chee if youre ever in Brooklyn. Like everyone recommends order the pork spareribs + gamja tang + kimchi bokkeumbap. Can get pretty busy during dinner time. Portions are huge, come with a hungry stomach and some friends.

Its a decent Korean restaurant. Their kimchi-chigae is one of the best in NY and their fried chickens never fails. Other foods are so so but I havent tried all their menus so there may be other good ones too.

They seem dont care about the quality of the food and appetizer they serve is not fresh especially the broccolis. Very rude and not professional service.
