Im a coffee lover and SW Brooklyn native. I just visited The Coffee Lab today after reading about it in an article recently and wow, this place has a great atmosphere with super friendly baristas and they serve amazing coffee. Im not talking about your run-of-the-mill decent cup from Starbucks or anywhere else that takes pride in their coffee, but high-end, artisanal brew that (sadly) you cant find anywhere else in Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, or Bensonhurst. Despite the fact that Im coffee-obsessed, Im no purist, so I usually add cream and sugar to my cup depending on the quality of the brew. As such, a standard hot latte with nothing added is always a good starting point for me to test out a new place. Im happy to say that the latte was served to perfection -- perfect temperature, smooth, nuanced flavor, and yum, just the right amount of creaminess. After I try a new coffee spot that I like, I usually get like a kid in an amusement park wanting to try everything, so after I finished my latte, I opted for a "Nutella Monster." Its an iced blended coffee drink with Nutella and vanilla flavoring (if youre a fan of Starbucks Frappucinos, youll absolutely love this). It was delicious. My stomach couldnt handle more than two drinks, but next time I want to try their Cortado. They also carry a few pastries from Balthazar which is nice, but this place is really all about the coffee. As a heads up, youll be paying more than Dunkin and, in some cases, Starbucks here, but then, the reason why youd go to The Coffee Lab is to.. drink.. better.. coffee.. than.. Dunkin.. and.. Starbucks. I hope that registers for people. Queue the old adage: you get what you pay for. BONUS: theyre bike friendly too. I didnt have a lock to secure my bike to the curbside rack, so they told me to wheel it (through the shop) out to the backyard where theres an outdoor patio with extra seats. I was able to leave it back there while I enjoyed my coffee(s) in the comfort of the air conditioned seating area inside, which is a very nice decor by the way (think Chipotles modern/industrial look but slightly more minimal). Im so glad that we finally have a good coffee spot in this part of Brooklyn. It used to be that I had to travel to Park Slope, Red Hook, or Manhattan for a good brew, but The Coffee Lab will definitely be my new go-to when Im looking for something fancier than a homemade Aeropress. I forgot to ask where they get their coffee, but Im sure theyre using beans from a quality roaster. Ill be sure to ask next time Im in there.

After a great brunch I was in the mood for coffee, and I had heard rave reviews about Coffee Rx. Having come in and doing a quick double take at the prices, I settled on the Nutella Monster - sight unseen. While slightly on the pricier side of things ($6), the overall size of the drink as well as the taste make the price well worth it. A coffee with 2 shots of espresso all blended together with Nutella set my hyperactivity skyrocketing, though it was so smooth and delicious I managed to get to the bottom in no time. As opposed to a frapuchino from Starbucks, the Nutella monster was perfectly blended, leaving no shards of ice to interrupt a sip.

This is a great local coffee shop with a great atmosphere and amazing coffee. If you go here it is a must to get the nutella latte if you like chocolate, it is one of the best coffee flavors Ive ever had. They literally put scoops of nutella in it and it mixes with the coffee surprisingly well. They also have flavored whipped cream which is very good, I personally like the cinnamon the best but theyre all good. There are a lot of other unique coffee flavors including a rose flavored coffee so you can always try something new here. If you ever are in the area or taking the b9 which has a stop right next to this its a must to stop here.

What can I say about the coffee lab? Ill park in front of the Hydrant out front and risk a ticket just to get my Nutella Monster. yeah its that good! Waffles are different, not what you expect, but so damn good. The lattes are different from the chain places, much better flavor, richer creamier aroma, delicious from start to finish. The staff is always pleasant and super helpful when you have any questions about the menu. True baristas not just "high school workers" they know their stuff. try this place out, you wont go back to SBUX again.

walked in, three groups of two were standing or seated around, ordered a coffee, spent the next TEN MINUTES watching the one overworked young staffer there process coffees in an extremely convoluted process that was more like repairing the engine of a Civil War-era submarine than that of a coffee bar, and those drinks turned out to be for the first of the three groups, and not wanting to stand there for another TWENTY MINUTES or more, I decided to quietly exit, never to return.

This place is lovely. Im a lifelong coffee shop addict (originally from Seattle), and this place has excellent coffee without any of the attitude that often comes from baristas. And if you cant do caffeine, try the Bowl of Soul latte--its chamomile tea with almond milk and cinnamon, very soothing and satisfying. Its also the cleanest coffee shop Ive ever been inside of.

The coffee tastes great and is presented well. The staff is friendly and young. The space has spots to sit and do laptop work but youll find that its incredibly hard to sit comfortably at the main table because your knees hit a very shallow brace underneath. No bagels kills this place a bit for me. The waffles are out of this world though. Try them for sure.

If you are a fan of coffee, this is a must-visit in Bay Ridge. The Nutella Latte and the Nutella Monster are the top two decadent drinks you should try at least once. If however, youre not for fancy drinks and want regular brew, you still cant go wrong, they pour a fantastic cup of Tobys Estate. They also offer maracons from Macaron Parlour.

They brew coffee. Coffee lab. Ps- you can buy a bag if theyre own beans too. Give it a shot. An expresso shot. Get it?

Nutella Monster. Nutella latte. Honestly that should be enough to get you in the door. The coffee is good, espresso is well made. Outdoor seating area is really cool with lots of handmade patio furniture that gives it a truly local vibe.

The coffee and service here are great. The two girls working were very courteous and seemed genuinely polite as opposed to just running through a routine. I got a cold brew coffee and two croissants. All three items were wonderful.
