I stopped by to try this restaurant for breakfast with my friend after seeing great reviews on yelp. The restaurant was very small but crowded when we arrived at about 10AM on a saturday morning. I was shocked that we were promptly seated because it looked like a full house but later I notioced that no one seemed to wait for a table ironically. The staff was very patient and helpful because we had a hard time decing on what to order. Initially we had planned to share an order of pancakes but after seeing that they charged a shared plate fee of $3.00 we changed our minds. For part of my order I wanted eggs with cheese but surprisingly saw no fee noted on the menu for adding cheese so I asked. (I was told that there would be a charge of about $1.00 but in the end I was billed $2.00?) I finally decided to order the "Old James" which were simply plain buttermilk pancakes. I also ordered their pork sausage with scrambled eggs which I soon regretted. The best part of my meal was the pancakes and I am very picking when it comes to pancakes. The sausage was some of the worse Ive had in any restaurant and tasted like it was made of mixed meats rather than plain pork and the eggs were cooked to hard. My friend had the southern belgian waffles which was simply fried chicken with waffles. She was not to happy with her meal because she said the chicken lacked flavor and there was not much of it. However, she did later say that the gravy that was served with her dish did help to add some flavor. Although I did enjoy my pancakes I dont plan to return to this restaurant simply because of their sharing fee. I felt the fee was a tactic that made no sense and mustve been done out of sheer greed! Sharing food sometimes when you dine with others is done often but I dont see how it dont see how it would cause a extra fee. As a consumer I realize that a restaurant owner has the right to charge what they please but I also have the right to go elsewhere where I can share my food if I please.

Found this gem last summer when my sister and I Googled "brunch" while in the Long Beach area. No other place had a higher rating and within minutes of arriving we could see why. I actually thought I already wrote a review because Ive been here at least 5 times now though I live in Brooklyn. Now my kids put this on the to-do list when they visit NYC from FL and no less than a half dozen of my friends frequently stop here on the weekends. Try something different every time you get here and you wont be disappointed. The lemon poppy blueberry pancakes are a favorite as are any of the fritattas. The service is attentive (they have to be to keep the funnel of patrons moving). I always see smiles and lots of joy in the dining room. If youre not sure what to order just wait to see what the tables around you are getting and, "Ill have what theyre having" will suffice. Suddenly I remember why I hadnt written a review yet. This place is no longer a secret. Prepare to wait but know that its worth it.

The egg dishes were delicious. My husband ordered the sofrito, I had the pork belly Benedict, and our 1 year old had the 2 eggs with sausage from the kids menu. U we each ordered our own dishes and my husband and I ordered the brown sugar and oat pancakes to share. The pancakes were ok they just had brown sugar and some oats sprinkled on top nothing special and we were charged a sharing fee per person! After we each ordered our own covers. That is just ridiculous. This business practice turned us off and we will not be going back. There are plenty other breakfast places on Long Island that dont rip off their customers.

Recently, I had breakfast with friends and was extremely surprised that upon receiving the bill, we were asked to leave as the table was needed. A few weeks later, I went to have breakfast in Huntington with my mother, who loves Morning Rose. When I asked why she didnt suggest Morning Rose, she said she was asked to leave upon receiving her bill after having breakfast with her friends! Food is great and services was too, but the limited space is making it feel unfriendly. We will be going elsewhere to enjoy breakfast with friends. :(

Great food. Deliciously diverse menu and quite affordable as well. Be warned though its small and you will have to wait, but its worth it. Service is hit or miss. Two of the servers were incredible and kept the ball rolling while making sure to check on all tables and not just theirs. One server though kept complaining to us and anyone who would listen as to how busy she was and how she couldnt wait until the day was over. Quite odd especially at noon on a Sunday.

It was my first time here and I had the chicken and waffles. They were good. But what really impressed me were the portions. I am a big guy and I couldnt finish it. Great bang for your buck. The skillet (home) fries were very good as well. I will be coming back again to try some of their other food especially the caramel pancakes and patty melt.

Loved it besides waiting a bit on a Friday afternoon but they said 25 minutes and then we were called pretty soon. Loved the food, I got the asparagus goat cheese omelette with the salad. The balsamic is great and they give you little muffins before your meal. The atmosphere is nice and its small so its pretty quiet considering.

Went here for breakfast. Very personal setting, as the place is very small (as are most nonfranchised restaurants on LI). They seem to have creative omelet options, among other things. I had a waffle with ice cream. The waffle was very bland and unimpressive. Overall the place has a good ambience.

The food is delightful - never fails to be on point and one of my favorite breakfast locations. The lack of the final star is because at times the staff can be unthoughtful (if your full party isnt there, you wont be sitting until they get there).

Love love love this place! My husband and I are frequent visitors. The food is fresh, unique and absolutely delicious. The "big biscuit" is my favorite and it has some of the best sausage gravy I have ever had.

Great Bellmore gem. Original delicious breakfast dishes and friendly service. Note that there are long waits at common times, but theyll take your number and text you when a table becomes available.

I love this place and go every weekend. The staff is delightful but the specials make my heart go putter pat. The churro French toast is what I want for my last meal on earth.
