Lucia is a consistently above average Italian restaurant centrally located in Bedford. The food is probably closer to 3.5 or 4, but the service is routinely slow and occasionally disinterested. Prices are also about 20% above where they should be. Hence, the 3 star rating. POSITIVES: The food is consistently good. The pastas are strong and you should consider ordering the simple lasagna as an example. Seafood is also good. The play here is the Pescatore. Gelato is fresh and they have a good selection of flavors. NEGATIVES: First and foremost, the service is below average. They are not rude. They are simply inattentive and disengaged. They are not interested in being there, and they simply dont care if you are there or not. Second is price. The food is good, but it is just overpriced by about 20%. Finally, drink options are limited. The wine list is fine -- nothing great -- but acceptable. Beer options are unimpressive.

Used to love this place, until they jacked up the price of wine. Seriously, $14 for a glass of wine in a pizza place? I know, its more than pizza. But not really. Its just another example of a restaurant owner in the Bedford/Chappaqua/Armonk area pushing the limits to see how high they can go with their prices, and gauging from the full parking lot, they know they can get away with it. For my money, if Im going to pay north of $15 for a glass of wine, I much prefer the food at a real restaurant like 251 Lex, or Bedford 234.

Overpriced by far. The service is indifferent. Our last experience there involved our five-year old being treated rudely by staff. It was as inexplicable to her as it was to us. Living nearby, we used to be semi-regular customers. Not anymore. We tried for nearly a month to meet with the owner about they way our daughter was treated. He was never available, and we never did see him. So, you dont have a five-year old? The mediocre food ought to be reason enough to dine elsewhere.

Excellent restaurant! Food is always fresh and everything I have had here is very tasty. The broccoli rabe is very good and the Pescatore is wonderful. My daughter likes the sole francese especially and my wife usually orders one of the specials and is very happy. Tonight for dessert pistachio gelato and a cannoli. Delicious!

Always excellent. Never disappointed. Pizza is great and the pasta dishes are spot on fantastic. Dont order any alcohol...you will PAY.
