Honestly, amazed by prior negative reviews, have feeling that this could be paid for/left by competitors...Or the management has changed dramatically last few weeks, because we have experienced GREAT food and little outdated but CLEAN restrooms. Food selection is amazing, ALOT of seafood as well as meat products, big sushi and salad bar, fruit bar was pretty exciting too. (They even had crab legs, crabs and crawfish for lunch!) We were there right when they open (best time to come to Chinese buff) everything was nice, fresh and tasty - no complaints at all, only complements! Lunch price was $11.49+$1.99 for drink, in my opinion its little pricey for buffet, but considering the variety of food it was OK. The only NEGATIVE: waitress was lazy and gloomy, here they dont even bring silverware or chopsticks to you, she was just standing there doing nothing and when I asked for chopsticks she just pointed towards sushi bar on another side of the restaurant.... and as prior reviews said they brought fortune cookies BEFORE we finished eating, we didnt really care about it (I suggest you the same) but after she brought them out she completely stopped caring about us and didnt refill the drink until I asked and havent cleaned 2 dirty plates with crab legs remainders for like 20 minutes, despite place being relatively empty, WELL they expect tips for their hard work, but how much of it they get - is up to you to determine...:) Overall great food experience, but waitress will starve to death with this attitude and laziness, I wish them the best, they should go to American restaurant to learn the skills, its not China here, people are willing and wanting to pay for service, so deliver it and you will be compensated, or go wash restrooms with this attitude, toilets wont care if you dont smile....

Was here 7/30/16. My familys experience was terrible. We arrived at 8:50 in the evening for their buffet. My husband paid in advance of being seated full price for 2 small children and 2 adults. We had no sooner gotten our plate when they started picking up the buffet. He went to the girl in the front and asked if they were closing. She responded NO, they were just moving some food around. He came back to the table and within 2 minutes the kitchen staff were out in the dining room with soap and buckets and started cleaning the food bar. They were carrying on as if there was no one in the place. He then noticed all the sushi was removed. I went to the front to speak to the girl that he had previously spoken with. She told me they were now closed. I told her I would like a refund that my husband had asked her right after arriving if they were closed and she had told him "No". That this was definitely not an enjoyable experience and we should be refunded our money as we were leaving. At the same time I was there another woman was there demanding a refund as well. She was threatening to call the police to get her money back as well as the sanitation board regarding cleaning things with food still around the area. The up shot of all this was the girl refunded half our ticket to us. I accepted this but did not agree. I truly felt we should have had a full refund. The total time spent in this restaurant was 25 minutes.

Ive been coming here ever since the place was Empire Buffet by the mall. Ive always loved the food, dont expect something high quality, its a place where they mostly care about keeping the food containers filled! But Ive anyways loved it, the sushi is good too!! My real complaint is that the workers dont really pay attention to the customers, the sushi bar workers are wonderful though!! always really happy! but the others seem always really down, the lady at the front (been there since reopening) never smiles or anything. I suggest drinking slowly because they usually wont come over to refill your drink, even if you look at them, youll have to call them over. Also! if youre new to this place, Ask for: salt, pepper, siracha and drink refills (if they dont come by) When you get your food theres spoons and forks by the dessert section, and chopsticks by the sushi.

If I could rate this place no stars I would unfortunately I have to put one star. I went for the very first time this passed weekend biggest mistake ever. Their was a customer who was putting her head underneath the glass bar and holding the spoons up to her nose to smell the food and then placing them back in. The manager approached her and asked her to stop but did not change out the food that was already contaminated by this customers nose. Upon sitting down to enjoy my meal their was a hair in my food which I ovule only expect after watching that customer putting her head underneath the glass display. I asked the manager for my money back and left all the food their. She said she was not going to refund because I was there for more then 5 minutes already. We left disgusted without our money and no food. Think twice before eating here.

I want to give an honest review. The food is okay if you like hot and alot. nothing spectacular.BUT something that really bothers me is the WATER. It was like this at the old location also. If you order water beware because what ever cleaning product they use, they obviously dont clean out the cups. We used to frequent the old location and the water always seemed off. Yes we kept ordering the water thinking each time it would be better, but it never ever was. Well when we went to the location off Griggs we naturally ordered water and it was putrid!!! They gotta fix that. Its just terrible. Never saw a waitress to let know. They dont check on the tables. Very sad. Oh well. Ive really tried to give it a chance. But i just cant anymore.

Honestly, this is a terribly run restaurant. Sadly though, this is the only full scale asian buffet in Las Cruces so Im a repeat customer. They could benefit by changing up their menu (it hasnt changed since it opened). All of their sauces for the chicken dishes are basically the same.. not much variety at all (one pan has sesame seeds added to the chicken, next pan doesnt.. but exact same sauce). They have NMSU student discount but no discount if you attend any other University (local of not) which is kind of frustrating too. Id say avoid this place but its the only option. So instead, lets discuss how to bring some competition to the area!

There is good and bad about all places. My husband and I come here to eat everytime we come to Cruces. The food is fresh and they help keep our tables clean and our drinks filled. If they want to talk smack, which by the way I have learned everyone does without their customers knowing, I really think its their choice, freedom of speech, just like this. Your right to complain about stuff they have the right too. Personally they have been friendlier than a lot of other places in Southern New Mexico that we have been to. Excellent food, we love it, and sorry your experience was not so good.

I like the food. I am a veteran. They offer a military discount to veterans. It says "veteran," on my state issued drivers license. They do not honor it because I do not have a military ID card. Common fact: you only get to keep a military cac ID card if you served at least 20 years... I served only 5. The hostess argued with me about this fact. I showed her my VA card and Purple Heart vehicle registration too. No dice. I honestly dont care about the discount. It upsets me that they dont honor it and made me feel like a liar about my service.
