Was my first time at a library restaurant. Ordering your food is a different experience. They seat you, take a drink order and you bring your check slip to the chef window after you check the menu on the wall along with an open salad bar. Not a really big selection, but what do you expect from a seafood/steak restaurant. I had the talapia stuffed with MD crab. A little on the sour side from the lemon juice, but still a tasty dish. But what really stood out was the service. Usually, in my experience at least, when i go to a restaurant /bar, it takes a while for the waiter/waitress to bring me my drinks, but the waitress we had tonight was on point and very speedy. Her social skills as a server made me feel welcomed and comfortable. The atmosphere feels kind of formal and a little fancy for my taste, but still a nice quiet place to wine and dine. All in all, i would say its more of a special occasion type of restaurant rather than a everyday type of place to eat. If you have never been, i definatly recomend trying it out.

Today is august 27th and new jersey is about to get hit with the worst hurricane in its history. Yet the owner of the library 4 seems to believe that the storm isnt going to hit this area, and that the self proclaimed best steak in town bar and grille is going to get a customer or two tonight. Instead of listening to the advice of several experts and all state officials the owner seems to think he is smarter than them, and is keeping his staff there for no reason, except to endager them on their way home tonighy when the storm is at its worst. Anyone with rhis much common sense doesnt deserve the success they have, it must have happed as a result of luck and or nieve regular customers. Ive had a better steak at dennys. I hope all of the staff there remains safe. Goodluck.

The library is my girlfriends favorite restaurant, and Im starting to see why. Its definitely a place you want to get a reservation for, at least at the weekend. The tables are well spaced out, so even when the place is busy (and it always seems busy) it never feels crowded. The wait staff is polite, professional, and prompt. Wed have a new glass of our tea or soda within a few moments of finishing our old glass. They never were intrusive, but always there when we needed something. The food is always fantastic. We always get steak so I cant speak about the entrees, but the steak is always perfectly tender. Side dishes are generously portioned, particularly the baked sweet potato. Ours was large enough for two people. Well definitely be back.

Delicious food. Steaks and sea food were excellent, staff was helpful and very pleasant. Would definitely come again. This place is full table side service other then having to walk to the kitchen and place your order with the chef, actually a nice experience. The chef was very nice and helpful, and patiently answered my questions. Seeing him cut the steak to my liking in front of me was very enjoyable, and it was also an opportunity to see the clean standards in the kitchen for myself. Prices are spot on for the value, not overly expensive but not cheap either. Atmosphere is kind of unique too, the setting is very different. They dont call it the Library for nothing. Try it!

The mussels literally tasted like horse manure, they must have been old they were terrible. The broccoli was under cooked and was crisp like it was meant to be put in a salad no seasoning or anything on them just plain hard broccoli. The salmon was not good was slimey and they did not take the blood line out so that cooked through the fish and made it taste really fishy. The portions were very small. My fathers prime rib was dry and had no presentation no gravy or juiciness to the steak. For the high expensive pricing youd think you would get good food I rather eat at Geets diner. Only good part is salad bar but you can get a good salad anywhere thats not hard

Very disappointed with my visit on August 19. We came with 9 people. The hostess that greeted us was too busy having a conversation with a male server so we stood there for a few minutes waiting for her to acknowledge we walked in to the restaurant. There was a smell we all could not identify. The salad bar was not what I remember...missing several items. I ate half my dinner and specifically asked my waitress to wrap my filet and potato I only half finished. I opened the leftovers to eat them today and there is no potato. I wont eat there again and will tell my friends to skip the restaurant. There are plenty of places to frequent for a good meal in the area.

The Library IV is one of my favorite places. As a child growing up my father used to bring us out there every Sunday for their brunch. Im not sure if they still offer that but when my family and I recently went to dinner there we were very pleased. The food is above par and the service is excellent. The menu is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. For an awesome dining experience I recommend you check them out.

I dont understand the negative reviews on here at all. Ive been coming to the library for most of my life and have never been disappointed. If you want a cheap cut of meat over-seasoned to mask the poor quality go back to your closest chain. If you want a cut of meat that needs nothing but a pinch of salt & pepper that you can cut with the back of a butter knife come here.

I have dined at the Library IV many times over the years since moving to Williamstown in 2004. I can say without hesitation that I have never had an unpleasant experience or been disappointed with my meal. Whenever I have guests from out of town I take them there. They are always impressed and satisfied with both the meal and the service, and so am I.

My favorite of all of the Librarys in the south jersey area. If like me, you are not much of a red meat eater but love people who do, this will work for you. Lots of fish and chicken options. Really fresh and yummy salad bar with loaves of bread and cheese. Full bar. Read a book from the walls while you wait.

We had a great experience here. It was our first time on NYE. It was pretty crowded we had a reservation. Many didnt. They rushed to set our table once we arrived when they noticed my pregnant wife was only a week from her due date so she could sit. Staff was great enjoyed the food. Very friendly
