Excellent coffee, both at the bar and at home. The cafe offers a variety of fresh pastries and coffee preparation methods. Of course, as this is a cafe front for a coffee roasting company, the coffee was wonderful. I picked up a 1lb. bag of the "Organic Peruvian" roast. At home, using 200 F water (as recommended by the barista I spoke to) and a setting of 30 on my Baratza Encore, I was left speechless. The flavor profile description of this blend on their website is spot on and its delicious. I will definitely be back and if you havent tried this companys coffee out yet, you really should.

The first we went here (2 weeks back) we were actually looking for Starbucks but we ended up here due to a wrong exit. Everyone in my group were desperate for coffee and we though to try in Black River.. We were glad we chose Black River Roasters instead of searching for Starbucks. Black River Roasters coffee IS THE BEST I EVER HAD IN NJ/NY so far. Today we visited for the second time and we decided we will stop here whenever we travel to PA for our hiking trips.

The top coffee destination in central NJ, bringing long-awaited emancipation from the Starbucks Empire. The best espresso-based coffee experience Ive had so far, and that includes Princeton, Lambertville, and even Williamsburg. Have purchased their roast for home use and never been disappointed. Great atmosphere, friendly and attentive baristas, and even a few shady parking spots on hot days! Check it out!

Coffee was good, food that I had was okay - not a big selection of it though. Dont expect a welcoming environment to sit and chat or to work in. Seating is uncomfortable. Employees talked loudly to each other about customers after they left and topics that might make some people uncomfortable. This went on the majority of the time that I was in there. Will not be back.

Excellent coffee and tasty treats! You can eat-in and meet friends in a fresh, lively decor. (There are about 6 stairs to go up to get into the big room where seats/tables are.) There are some seats and counter space on the main floor where you order your coffee. I love the Black River Roasters coffee mug my husband bought for me- light blue!

The staff are both knowledge about coffee and provide a warm experience. The atmosphere is great for conversation, working, or enjoying a fantastic cup of coffee. The coffee is roasted on site which provides an interesting look into how coffee is made. The artisan care of the coffee is reflected in its quality and taste.

This little gem in my area serves excellent coffee, cappuccino, espresso, and lattes. The flavor of the coffee they use is just delicious. Not over roasted, very smooth. It has a distinctive flavor that is very pleasant. In fact, almost addictive. Cute little setup there too, and the service is gracious and efficient.

Espresso was delicious. There are a lot of vegan dessert options here as well. Atmosphere was very quaint, quiet, and comfortable. Their mission was authentic, it was nice to see the machinery for roasting in the lobby. This is a good place to catch up with friends over coffee or get some studying done.

I cant believe that coffee could be the great. I love coffee and have traveled many places for what I thought was great coffee but this is a new bar. The slow pour is unreal. Do your self a favor and go check it out.

Hands down the best coffee in the tri state area. They have a freaking roaster on site! Come here and get a pour over. It takes a couple minutes to prepare, but youll be glad you got it.
