I am not a picky person and Im pretty easy to please. My son and I went to this diner for a bite to eat. From the minute we got there the waitress made us feel like we were an inconvenience. When she came to our table to take our order, I asked if the onion rings were thick or thin. She seemed very annoyed , shrugged her shoulders, and said, "I dont know, medium?" Her face and tone of voice told me she was aggravated. When it was my sons turn to order, apparently he was taking too long (maybe 10 seconds to pick an appetizer). The waitress was facing at an angle away from us as an indication that we were holding her up. Mind you there were only 3 or 4 other tables in the place. I told him to hurry up because she was in a hurry. She said, "yup, a little bit". We ordered nachos but asked for just cheese with the meat salsa and sour cream on the side. There was some confusion but our order was complete. Another waitress brought us our nachos: plain chips with a bowl of meat and another bowl of shredded cheese. We asked if we could get the cheese melted on the chips. This waitress said "ok" but in a VERY condescending way. She yells into the kitchen, "He wants the cheese melted on the chips!!" We then heard a loud response of, "NO WAY!!!" Really? I didnt think we were being difficult at all. We order nachos like this everywhere and they always do it with a smile. By this point we felt so uncomfortable we decided to leave. When I saw the waitress I told her we were leaving because we were made to feel like an inconvenience from the beginning. She then changed her attitude and begged us to sit back down, and that they were just trying to communicate with the kitchen what we wanted. My son and I were so stressed out at this point there was no way we could enjoy a meal there. The manager seemed very nice and apologized. I told him that we are very easy to please and that we always leave a good tip. I have no problem when people make mistakes or things take a little long as long as we are treated in a friendly manner. In all of my 54 years I have never even considered walking out of a restaurant. We felt so unwanted at this diner and were made to feel like we were an annoyance. This was not a false perception either. It was obvious. We left very upset. We will never go back there.

The manager is a joke. Waitress didnt introduce herself, told her I needed a minute to look at the menu and she came back 15 minutes later. Not once checked on me after the food came out. Had (what looked like) facial hair in my soup. The bacon on the btl I had, had white creamy stuff all over it. I had nothing white on my Blt. When confronting the Manager about it I got a complete attitude about it and said he wasnt looking any money by me not eating. Lets just say Im never coming back and I have no idea how anyone likes crappy service.

Crappy diner food, used to be decent, terrible now. **EDIT** I dont know why I gave this place 2 stars in the original review. It was absolutely horrible. I got cheese fries. Their first mistake was using what appeared to be prepackaged American cheese singles on the fries. They managed to simultaneously burn the slices, and somehow not melt them at the same time. The gravy was ice cold. My mother-in-law was served her food about 20 minutes after the rest of the table, and the steak was RAW. Overall a bad experience.

I come here whenever Im indecisive or just want a relatively inexpensive meal. You cant really go wrong for a decent bite to eat here; Ive never had a bad experience. I come here for breakfast more than for other meals, my staple being pork roll and eggs with hash browns. As a random aside, their french fries are fantastic - very crispy. Service is quick and friendly. Overall, Princess Maria is a solid choice if you want a huge, inexpensive menu and a super casual meal out - it is a diner, after all.

I am confused as to how other reviews are calling this the best diner in New Jersey. This was the worst diner experience I have ever had. There were flies everywhere, the server took forever to greet us, the food (vegetarian panini) was void of flavor, and for a place with an extensive kids menu, how do they serve kids beverages in a take-out coffee cup? There was no music and every ketchup bottle on every table was practically empty. The server was pleasant but as she was not attentive enough.

They were accomodating when I came in from the beach in half my wetsuit, I was wearing a shirt and mostly dry so okay. But there was a smooshed bug on my cup and I asked for a replacement and the waitress wasnt happy about it. Otherwise OK. If its cold out get my special, I call it brain matter: Grits, Scrambled Eggs and Corned beef hash you mix it up with ketchup and it looks like brains but tates awesome on toast

Bizzare. No music, place smelled outdated and fishy. Ordered the Greek plater, when it came to the table the waitress says " your Greek salad is under there somewhere." When I paid with my card the manager was literally hovering me until I signed the receipt, I took my time just to see how long hed hover for, it was for the whole 45 seconds. Would never go back

Had broiled stuffed flounder senior menu dinner for $13. Soup looked right out of can. Very salty. Salad iceberg lettuce was ENTIRELY brown and yellow. Grape tomatoes and chunks of cauliflower were good. Fish and stuffing very good. Mashed potatoes good. Beets tasted tainted. Bread pudding awesome. Waitress super nice and efficient.

The food and the waitress were horrible. They wont agree to substitute anything. They kept telling us that they were going to bring us salad dressing and never did. The olive oil was watered down. Linguini did not have any tastes. Grilled chicken wrap didnt have any tomatoes nor dressing.

Their french toast platter is delicious. Staff is great. My only criticism is when the coffee is served from the regular coffee pot which tastes like mud because it has sat around awhile. Always request it from the machine which is fresh and good.

This is my go to diner when in in this area. They have a huge menu, friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. I always order something different and so far I have not once been disappointed.

The usual diner fare and service, but I love diners so to me theyre all pretty good. This place has a good greek salad and you can never go wrong with any of the skillets.

Food is OK. I feel it is very expensive for the quality of the food. I dont mind paying extra when you get something special. Unfortunately there is nothing special here.
