HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I used to go to the Ridge all the time back in the day, however after last night, I am never going back. A friend of mine accidentally ordered nachos and didnt realize that in the menu "Chili" was included. The waiter and the manager exchanged the nachos, but the manager made a huge fuss about it even AFTER the nachos were exchanged. He walked by our table and said indirectly "Vegetarians should read the menu more carefully". This is highly unprofessional; have the guts to say it to our face and not in passing. The poor service didnt end here. As I went to go pay my portion of the bill, the manager who was working the cash register at the time, shouted "What do you want?!" as I was approaching him with the bill. Is this proper etiquette? And as he was giving me the receipt to sign, he literally threw the paper at me! How did this place win best diner in 2008? HOW? Watch out for this man (medium height, semi heavy, glasses, tan, balding, gray hair, RUDE). If they dont fire him, then they might as well start being called the next Seville. As for the 2 stars, the only thing good was the appetizer I ordered.

BAD FOOD AND MEDIOCRE SERVICE. Dont be fooled by the positive remarks listed for this diner. I read the same reviews and made the mistake of trying it out. Me and my kids went in to have lunch; the onion rings were served to us cold and dry, it was obvious that they were re-served from a previous order and sent out. The salad I ordered was wilted, brown and warm. It seemed it was sitting on the counter for a while. IN THIS DAY AND AGE WHY WOULD A SALAD BE SERVED WILTED?!! My daughters spaghetti and meat sauce kids lunch looked like it came out from a can of Chef Boyardee. The waitress got the order wrong and I had to request a beverage three times and still she got it wrong. Do yourself a favor and keep away from this place. I also left a comment on Yelp!

Great real diner food, my family and I have been going here since we moved to the area in 05 and it has been consistent ever since. Being is the restaurant business, I know from experience that it is very hard to sustain the client base it has and maintain the level of consistency and great service. They have long time service staff, kitchen staff, I have a family member who is a waitress, and I even worked there for a bit. Family owned, and the owners are very concerned about their customers and community. Four star review due that the food can sometimes be greasy, so pick your plate, but its all still very good. Large menu, I still have not had everything, and its been ten years!

The best local diner by far... Great daily dinner specials that include an open salad bar... this is usually between the hours of 5 and 9pm... I would call to confirm the hours... All day breakfast available.... the wait staff for the most are all very friendly... The older waitresses seem to be a little grumpy and argue among themselves at times but they seem to work the early shifts not dinner time or later.... Overall you can count on great food and service.

Corned Beef Sandwich was awful and the staff was indifferent! When checking out the girl didnt ask me how things were so I told her about my experience and the corned beef and she said "yeah, its bad, we use a lean corned beef" to me it tasted old and had a sweet flavor like they cleaned it... that is an old trick used in the days before sanitation inspectors! I wont ever go back!

I recommend the Ridge Diner not for your health of diet, but for your soul. This place serves you your food really quickly and it is high quality, mouthwatering food. Their menu is very extensive and there will be something for everyone in your party. You can come with your friends for a quick eat and it is delicous and inexpensive. 5/5

Steak sandwich was loaded with a bit too many onions and the meat itself was too overcooked. I gauge my diners on their fries though and The Ridges fries were only okay. The staff was friendly on a very busy day and we were comfortable in our booth. This place is certainly passable as a diner overall, just nothing to write home about.

Definitely a very tight diner, not much room to move around, and with it often being crowded, its not a place I felt comfortable taking my 2 year old. With that said, food is actually quite good. They have a LITTLE salad bar area, which all in all is better than just having the waitress bring you a house salad.

My husband and I came here just a few days ago and honestly I cant complain. Food was awesome!! Mozzarella sticks are a must try! I had the chicken w/ sautéed onions and cheese. Amazing!! Service was great, our waiter was attentive and very friendly. I wish we lived closer so I could visit here weekly! Lol

Grew up down the street from "The Ridge". Since they renuvated and changed the menu, "The Diner" still doesnt disappoint! Delicious food, friendly & attentive staff, and a very nice atmosphere. Feels more like your in a restaurant than a diner. I would recommend The Ridge Diner to anyone and everyone!!!

Extremely slow service that was pretty bad too. Spent upwards of 3 hours here just for brunch. I got a turkey California burger, and the tomatoes had white spots in them. My sister was given a completely different mall than that she ordered, but just decided to easy it anyway because it took so long.

Ive been going to the Ridge diner since I was a little kid, and what I appreciate most about the place is how consistent their food and service is. Im rarely if ever dissapointed with the food and you know exactly what you are going to get each time you order. The atmosphere is nice too.

We came in party of 14 after 9pm. There were a few people at the diner, yet they couldnt seat us comfortably. We were placed on a table that barely seats 10. When we asked for another table to be added, they denied our request. Food is average. Server was okay.

The food is bad, mostly because they never get it right. But, for the most part, its a decent diner. The service, atmosphere, and value was good. The staff, though, is pretty rude, and dont seem like they know what theyre really doing.

Its the real deal not fancy but cozy. Thats the way it should be. NJ diners have come, over the top and seem more like restaurants. I love that ridge stayed close to their roots. Great food consistently and fair prices.

New Jersey is home to a great many diners. There is one in my hometown, but the Ridge is my true home diner. Ive spent many a late night there grabbing an egg cream and Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese in true Jersey fashion.

Is like going to your own familys table. Always great food. Smiling faces. Gotta love how they make you feel welcomed. Love the chicken wings and the sweet potato fries. Best place in town!
