Unfortunately, i have to give a bad review. Ive patronized this restaurant many times and the food & service was always great the general mgr Matthew always goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. HOWEVER, I was there for customer appreciation on nov 6 the food and specialty cocktails were 1/2 off and the food was terrible im assuming it was because it was 1/2 off HOWEVER i would rather pay full price than to receive unacceptable food. We were. A group of 5 we ordered 3 orders of lobster taco they were really salty we couldnt eat them so we sent them back and they had NO Lobster in them.we had other food everything was terrible. Also, the bill was $180 plus tax and gratuity of $70 i asked Matthew why was gratuity so much on he said it was based off of full price which would of been $360 ish so you offer 1/2 menu, terrible food but base gratutity off full price ABSOLUTELY NOT ACCEPTABLE!! HOWEVER, Matthew tried to make good he adjusted the bill he took off $26 which still didnt compensate for being overcharged in gratutity . I was totally disgusted because I feel like we were ripped off i wont be returning because i dont like being taken advantage of . Debbie Sanders

What a salty mess! It had been a while since I ate here, mainly because it’s overpriced and compared to other sushi restaurants in the area, sushi lounge food is mediocre. After nearly 4 years I gave this place another chance, unfortunately it was a complete let down from the food to the service. My friend and I ordered the PEPPER-CRUSTED TUNA and we both agreed it was a salty mess! We had to order water just to try and pass it down. Why didnt we return the plate? Our server Monica didnt inspire much confidence she seemed annoyed to be serving us and made us feel completely unwelcome. Judging on her demeanor my friend and I didnt want to take any chances.

The sushi was terrible, the four rolls we tasted were terrible, ended up not even finishing the entire roll, my wife almost threw up and couldnt finish because it was so bad, the variety is not good, I ordered a regular fried rice and I received a vegetable fried rice, sounds like no big deal but I hate vegetables. Besides bringing vegetable fried rice, the waitress was wonderful and understanding so the one star is for her, zero stars for the restaurant. I dont know who was in the competition for best sushi in a NJ when they won 14 years in a row but someone needs to do a recount Im thinking worst sushi in NJ

First, Stephanie the waitress was great. Her app and beverage suggestions were spot on! (Rock Shrimp and a Mule). Shrimp taco was good. Although creative, the $15 sushi rolls fell short. Worst part was we were seated off the bar area. Friday night looking to have a romantic dinner, and we have loud dance music blaring! Dance music and live DJ when trying to relax with dinner. Doesnt look like anyone was into it, so lose the DJ, at least until dinner rush hour is over. I will not be returning, nor will my voice for a while after talking over the music over dinner!

I work close the Sushi Lounge and have had dined several times here. The sushi is excellent and fresh. This is the first place that I recommend when taking out a client/customer for lunch. The service is very good and I highly recommend the "Optomistic Roll", which is, in my opinion, the best roll on the menu. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes Sushi. In addition, they also serve very good non Sushi items for that one person who always joins the group but does not eat sushi.

For V-day 2011, SL entertained me. Joe and his staff are top notch. They are friendly, inviting and make your Sushi Lounge experience 5-star. Rolls and sushi are exceptionally good. Optimistic roll is unique and they offer healthy portion/cut of sashimi, Music ranges from today to yesterday. DJ spins nitely (i believe). I definitely recommend it for whenever ~ a lazy monday nite, girls nite out, romantic dinner. p.s. say hi to Mike & Frank behind the bar.

It is a cute place and provides decent service. But, since it is called Sushi Lounge, I expect good sushi. I hope they can find a way to improve the taste of sushi. Temperature, moisture, texture, size, thickness (the thicker is not always the better) grain, timing, and seasoned rice are all significant. eg. A person with high body temperature should be careful when preparing sushi. I am so sorry, but I cannot give 3 stars since sushi I had was awful.

My friends and I waited in line for literally 3+ hours to get inside this strip mall sushi location on a random Wednesday. Ridiculous. It was for a birthday party that I did not plan, but I will never venture to try this place due to the poor management and shady line "processing." Basically full of older guys with money trying to buy less older girls drinks. Horrible experience.

Ive been here many times for lunch and dinner and Im done with this place. Sushi is fishy smelling and just very expensive. Not crazy about the crowd either. You will definitely feel like youre in Jersey in this joint if you know what I mean!! Try Sushi Lounge in Hoboken instead!

Visited for lunch. Sushi rolls were good, not great. I would say about average. Also, they had "Saw" playing on the TV behind the Sushi bar, which may have depleted my appetite. Service was good and they were friendly. Would not come back though.

Great sushi, creative rolls and staff is friendly and the service is efficient. Wednesday night is the night to come if you want a scene. Other nights are hit and miss for the as far as people watching but atmosphere is constantly solid.

Great happy hour spot with good music and excellent signature cocktails. Food is above average, but not stellar for the price. Often we go for appetizers and cocktails out in the patio area.

The Sushi Lounge on 46th is really outstanding. Food, drinks, service and atmosphere are great. I love the appetizers, you can tell that the chefs put their heartblood in them.

I just want them to fix one of their framed Chinese character which is hanging upside down. Food could be better, just making it more modern doesnt make it better.

Service was very slow and lousy, sushi was good but expensive and the waiters/bartenders have major attitudes. Not worth it at all for a mall-joint sushi place.

Sushi Lounge on 46 is great...wait staff sometimes has a bit of an "attitude", but the Japanese risotto is amazingly good and the Bento box for lunch is awesome~
