Was in Spring Lake NJ over Memorial Day weekend. Noticed Larimar Restaurant on 3rd Ave. and thought it might be a great place to take the family. Went in to inquire about the menu ,hours, seating, etc. Was greeted by the owner and found him to be extremely unaccomodating, outright rude and disrespectful. During our visit I asked to use the mens room and was told they dont have a "public bathroom" and that I should go three blocks down to a public bathroom. What??? Needless to say I no longer had an interest in this restaurant. First impressions are very important. My first impression is that this restaurant has "no class" and is run by amateurs who need to be educated on how to run a service business. Persons who wish to visit this restaurant are the Kings and Queens and should be treated that way. They are not the servants. This restaurant has their priorities confused.

This small but elegant restaurant was wonderful. I wish wed called for a reservation, but we were seated near the bar and chose from the full menu. The offerings were good, although not in the usual way I think of when I want Italian. The bread was unique and tasted great, my squid-ink pasta was amazing, and the caramel brulee sent me to heaven. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, if only for that brulee.

I had Mahi Mahi, the Buratta for an appetizer. and the vanilla gelato with espresso syrup. The meal was great Alan had the watermelon salad, spaghetti entree and the Napolean. He enjoyed his as well.

I went to Larimar for the first time. The food was as pretty as it was delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is awesome. It was definitely a great experience that I highly recommend.
