Came here for fish tacos. 4 star rating made me expect something great. Line out the door was a sign good things were to come. Reality of the matter is the tacos were sub-par. I can make better tacos at home... The fish taco was good, but only because of the white Aoli sauce. Which I imagine cannot be that hard to make. The Garlic Shrimp taco was good as well. The rest of the tacos however were not that good. Chicken was nothing special. The beef was atrocious. It came soggy and had no flavor. They bring you each taco with a mound of chips. Ive been to legit Mexican places before and they give you the tacos together, not a set of chips with each taco. My wife who I was with, who HATES tacos, said that these are worse than tacos usually are. We were at Chelsea Market the day before, and the tacos served there were more flavorful, and cheaper. TL:DR - Tacos are OKAY at best. Long LINE. Would not come here again.

Its a chain, but very well run. Theres always a line almost out the door. Theres pretty quick turnover so Ive never had a problem getting a table. Great tacos and burritos, the Max Dip 7 layer dip and chips is a family favorite of ours. Fairly casual place, you order and are given a number to take to a table, and theyll bring your order out to you. The food is fresh, and at a good price. Almost all the burritos and tacos come with chips, and theres a small salsa bar with a few to choose from. Theyve got a kids menu as well, with kid tacos and quesadillas. Their crunchy taco actually comes out more like an empanada, so your kids might prefer a soft taco. I definitely recommend it: good, cheap and fast!

The food is defent but expect to wait an hour for food... even if its not busy. A chicken quesadilla and. a single taco should not take over an hour. I asked for a wait time when I ordered and they just told me "not long, dont worry"... yeah, it was long, and just kinda dirty and the employees didnt have hair nets or gloves handling food, then running food, then answering the phone and taking orders... definitely a cause for concern. If youre actually hungry or value your sanity, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Great little place! Its very casual and laid back so its okay that it doesnt feel high end. The atmosphere is great and you can walk in there in flip flops, shorts and a t-shirt and be right at home. Them food is nothing spectacular but it tastes good and its inexpensive. Addendum: This place has really gone down hill as of late. The staff members are rude. The food is nowhere near as fresh (and you can taste it). It is always filthy now. I think this may be our last visit.

Great Food, but I have an unrelated story sort of After leaving the surf taco, I got in my truck and was at the intersection nearby. Up to the light pulls a red car with a man on the hood, yelling about something. They waited for the light to change and then the person driving gunned it down the street with the man still on the hood of the car. I sat there in the car with my coworker in stunned silence for a whole light cycle. WTF

The reason I am giving this place three stars and not four is because the wait took forever. The line was about twenty minutes but food was almost 40 minutes. And the restaurant was not even at capacity. The food was not bad. We had the mahi tacos and mahi burrito. Cant say they are the best fish tacos Ive had but the portion on the combo meal was generous and I love the avacado and pineapple on my tacos.

Very overpriced for sub-par food. Guacamole doesnt come with chips, which are an extra $3.00 to order. Asked for avocado added to my salad for an additional $3.00, received three small slices on top of salad. Disappointed. SurfTaco is very overrated for the quality of food, which isnt very good compared to other local joints. Would not recommend or return.

I dont get what the hype is? I ordered some of the more expenive combos on the menu, one was shrimp tacos. 80% of the taco was cabbage (the main attraction??) and there were two small shrimps dug up in the cabbage. Their rice was incredibly bland and flavorless and the beans were so watery!

People have their opinions. Mine is that I never argue when the fam chooses to go to any Surf Taco because they never let me down with their Chicken Chimichanga! Consistently righteous! Rock on! Great surf clips too! A little Marley or some Ska in the background too!

A very good establishment, the food was very good. I wouldve gave it a 5 star review but I had to wait 35 minutes before I got my food. Rest assured it was busy, even the line to the soda fountain was long. The food Id say was worth the wait however.

Food was good. On par with Chipotle, Baja Fresh, or Qdoba. Service was a bit lacking and the decor was surfer grunge, but what would you expect from a place with a name like this?

The food was good, but there are so many other options in the area for food thats just as good or better for a fraction of the wait. One burrito and 1 taco took over 30 minutes.

I love surf taco in general and could probably eat it all the time. This place gets super packed in the summer. Like really packed. Be prepared to wait a long long time.

Loved my coconut shrimp with mango salsa taco. My husband had the Mahi Mahi taco. Fish was the length of the taco. We both will be back on our next visit to belmar.

Long wait for food, fish taco kind of not fishy. Too much filler in the tacos, lettuce, shredded cabbage. But if you want a cheap taco off the beach, here you go!

This is a pretty good spot..they do not use m.s.g. and good seems fresh..salsas are pretty good to.. Cook hangouts for entire family..
