A few months ago, a few friends and I went to meet a friend of mines aunts at this bar. The 2 other girls and her aunt went in first. My boyfriend and his friend and I hung back to finish a cigarette. As we went to walk in, the bouncer was giving us all weird looks. As we went to walk through the bar to join my friends, the bouncer approached my bf and told him he looked like hed been stumbling and so he could go in, but he could not drink, which was unusual because hed only had one beer before we left our room. We chalked it up to a misunderstanding and he was just doing his job, but understandably after a little bit, and after some food, we didnt want to hang where he couldnt get served, so we were just gonna go to a different bar down the way. I stopped in the bathroom on the way out and by the time I came out , the bouncers had surrounded my bfs friend and my bf. The friend was not intoxicated either but they kept yelling at him to get out because he was "drunk", which we were not, none of us. My bfs friend walked away. We went outside to leave, he didnt say anything back. He did fill me in that theyd made some racist comments to him but he was trying to be big about it and walk away. Ill admit he did probably call them racist a**holes loud enough for them to hear but didnt respond to them directly. I hadnt heard any of it at first but the bouncers proceeded to follow us out and down the boardwalk a little. They told my friends bf who had quickly become the target of their attack that he needed to go back to the "jungle [he] came from", and then they were using racial slurs, talking about his mother, and saying that my bf and I shouldnt have been hanging out with a black... whatever.. It was primarily race driven. After that, the friend got really upset as did my bf and I, but the friend started calling the guys scumbags and said something to the effect of "f*** your mother" to which the bouncer responded "my mother wouldnt touch you cuz youre a f****t with that guy" nodding toward my bf. My bf replied "..so what if he was?" And put his arm around his buddy. We agreed it wasnt worth it and the three of us all went to leave but not before the bike police showed up. At this point the bouncers were all yelling. The police asked what all the commotion was and the bouncers tried yelling over us. At first it seemed like the police might try and site us or something, but then we rationally explained the situation and I guess they could tell none of us were intoxicated and saw that the bouncers were still outside the bar down the boardwalk harrassing us, so they told the bouncers to go in. I will never return to this bar. What a disgusting experience and such disgraceful racist and homophobic behavior from the staff. Smh. I would advise others to follow suit.

Horrible treatment of paying customers. My husband wanted to go for fathers day. So we went this past Sunday and there were 6 of us and spent over $120 for food that was not that great. My husband has broke his feet last April and really can not walk the whole board walk and still had most of his picture of beer left. As you know you can not leave with beer anyway so I had spoken to two of the wait staff our waitress and another that came around. I asked if he could move two a small table that sits just 2 people instead of stsying at the 6+ table hat we were seated at. Both told us no problem they appreciate him moving to a smaller table and to stay as long as he likes. After about 1 hour the security members decided he was not allowed to sit there cause he never ordered food and only had beer. He tried to explain that he just ate with his family and they will be coming back and I had the receipt to prove we ate there. He also had the box with left over pizza and they said that did not mean anything. So they made him move to the picnic tables in the sun and were very rude. When I got back I asked what happened and showed the bald so called security manager our paid receipt. He kept saying did you pay for this? I told him several times yes and he was holding my paid receipt. He continued to have words with my husband and was very rude to my husband and I. He kept threatening to call the police and called my husband drunk which he was not. He was also being very rude to me and I had not 1 drink that day and told him I am not intoxicated and wanted to speak to the real manager of this place and he flat out denied me that right and said he takes care of everything there and to leave or he will call the police for causing a disturbance. I asked for his name and I was told me he does not have to give me any info. I went over and asked the hostess for his name and they said they did not know? And they looked over to him and so he came over and I said oh you have them trained not to give your name when asked. He said they know the routine. So I guess there routine is bad customer service and everyone sticks to the routine. Years ago this place was great but apparently they either have new owners or just hire rude employees. Wont be going back!!!!

This is one of the BEST places to eat on the Boardwalk. The food is awesome. Everything on the menu. The spicy shrimp app is highly recommended. The pizza is very good. Prices are fairly inexpensive for a boardwalk joint. One reviewer said the pizza is expensive at $3.50 a slice. Crazy. One slice is like 2 normal slices. Go to North Jersey or NYC. $3.50 a slice is normal for a small slice of pizza. The drinks are also reasonable. 6 bucks for a corona. Normal bar prices. Good prices for a boardwalk bar. The staff is excellent. If your from Jersey you know Seaside has had the Nickname as Sleside for years now. Because of the writhrath, sleazy crowd that took over Sleside in the 80s. Ill never forget the Year there was a blackout in Seaside Heights. The luding. The fights. Thats what I mean by writhrath. No not all. But Im talking about some of the people that made it frightening for families to visit Seaside Heights. Superstorm Sandy, the boardwalk Fires. I think a stronger force was trying to help cleanup Seaside. A Reset you may say. Sawmill is one of the vendors that took to the reset well. Trying to class up Seaside and make it like it once was many, many years ago. Good for you Sawmill. Good food. Reasonable prices. Great staff. Oh and by the way. Starting July every year. They serve Breakfast Too! It is Awesome!!!! Huge awesome omelettes. Soooo Good. 5 stars easy.
