Decided to try this place after a year break. Our previous experience was OK, not great but place has expanded so we decided it might have gotten better. what a mistake. had to wait for a while to be seated , even though place was half empty. There was a decent start with some appetizers and then it went downhill from there. When our main courses arrived the waiter spilled my order of ribs all over the table and picked it up with his bare hands, placing spilled ribs back on my plate, my husbands and daughters dishes were cold. My husband return them and was told that they will be reheated. At that point he got so frustrated that he asked them to cancel the food. The waiter replied:"OK" and brought hi a full check. My husband asked to talk to the owner and the waiter tried to handle situation by himself without calling the owner. Then he walked away to call the owner who did not show up for very long period of time. And then refused to take responsibility for service and food quality. Never again!. I live in the area and will never step a foot even near the place. Would not recommend this place to ANYBODY!!!

What a HORRIBLE experience last night on New Years Eve. Not the first time here. Ive been there a few times. The waiter was cocky but that wasnt the worst part. I received a 50.00 gift card from my best friend for Christmas, the waiter comes back and tells me there was 44.29 on the card. The owner came over with an attitude telling us that we had come in and purchased an item of $6. We explained the card was new, purchased through them on Dec 14 and unused. The owner call my fiancé rude and walked away. Someone at his establishment made a mistake either when issuing the card to my friend however her receipt said 50.00 or our waiter charged the gift card an incorrect amount in error. No one wanted to own the $6 mistake. It was $6 and we dont care about the money but the way it was handled, Ill NEVER return there. So many other amazing places in Red Bank to choose. Id rather do Hibachi. More for your money and you get entertained not accused of being a liar.

Very disappointing, I had been looking forward to what was described as upscale Chinese food. At first glance the menu was very limited; however I took this as a sign that the few things on it would be done very well. After listening to the wait staff explain that everything is family style and should be shared we decided on a couple of entrees. After a considerable wait I was surprised when the entrees were served as they were not accompanied by either rice or plates, leaving us to eat off the serving plate, which may have been ok if it had not been served on a sizzling fajita plate, adding some minor complications to our attempts to share the less than stellar food. I would describe the food as bland American Chinese stir fry style. Another surprise was that my entree lacked the main ingredient listed in the description on the menu and instead included surprise ingredients not listed on the menu. I would not take my chances on them again.

Wife and I went to dinner here one evening in December; we have been wanting to try this place for months and we were highly disappointed. Service was fair at best they dont the seem to know whats going on or who is serving who. Had the dumplings which were very tasty but the filet minion egg rolls were not good, pellet ground up meat with heavy breading. We both ordered specials my wife had the garlic shrimp which looked beautiful but lacked flavor. I had the duck special which read phenomenal but was bad on all levels basically a duck egg roll. So with that we will not be back any time soon and they should remove the name gourmet.

Even tho we heard some pretty disappointing reports from friends we gave it a try cause our got joint was closed. What a mistake. Waiters are clueless high school kids. Polite but need basic training. By the time the food came out we were so hungry that we ate it in spite of the fact that it was all cold. When we tried to complain the waiter tried to get the owner. He was sitting at another table laughing with friends--never came over. Terrible experience and so overpriced as to be funny. Dont go , tell your friends dont go. Tell them to tell their friends not to go.

Temple of Gloom - Was looking forward to some upscale Chinese last night so I took the whole family to TEMPLE...We all walked out very unimpressed with food, service, atmosphere...our experience was similar to others...WAY overpriced takeout quality Chinese food, inexperienced servers...bummer. You want GREAT food, service and GREAT PRICES? Go to FAR EAST on RT 35 Eatontown. No white table cloths but you wont care when you taste the food and meet the people!

Where do I start? First, I have never done a review for a resturant. Second, I am NOT the competition trying to sabatoge Temple. In a nutshell, I never made it to the table. My wife and I had an 8:00 pm reservation, by 9:15 we went left and went to another resturant. Staff did not even care. DONT TRUST TEMPLES RESERVATION SYSTEM. They do not care, busy night or not, they kept telling us 15 more mins. Please dont waste your time.... BAD BAD BAD

Simply fantastic Chinese food. Highly recommend the Steak Tangerine and lettuce wraps. You will not be disappointed. Taste-wise, very similar to Peking Pavilion in Manalapan. If anyone has any complaints, its not about the food. The only problem with this place is that it is way too loud. Sound reverberates in the main dining room so that when there is a crowd, it can be a challenge to hear the people at your own table.

Umm...no. Okay, the good news--pretty hostesses; the bad news--WAY overpriced/takeout quality chinese food, inexperienced servers, and the bathroom line is practically inside the kitchen. Like the previous reviewer, we found it very loud, with almost no walking room between dining room chairs--where (awkward) servers are also carrying plates. We had heard good things, so this was a let down, but, honestly, look elsewhere...

Some of the best food Ive eaten! And awesome lunch specials. The owner Victor, has created some amazing and different options for Chinese food! The hot & sour soup and velvet chicken are so delicious. Worth a trip into Red Bank for a meal here! You can also order take out ad best of all, pull up to their back door to get it. No worries about trying to find a parking spot just to pick up your meal.

Have been to Temple now at least a dozen times and each visit has been more memorable than the last... Find the food exceptional, the service great, and have never had happen to me as some of the other reviews I have read ... It is New Years Day, (today), and have planned my visit there for the past week.. Cant wait to get there !!! If there is a very small wait at times, it WELL worth it !!!
