On a rating of 1 to 10 I rate this place a 2. I have tried this place many many times and have only found one or two dishes that were good. Every town has places like this. The place is tiny and NOT sanitary. I often see the owner sitting out front making dumplings with out any gloves on at one of the three or four customer tables. Ive seen tables covered with fresh vegetables and flies on them late in the afternoon. Ive seen a cook handling raw chicken in the back come out to ring up a customer at the register without removing his gloves Think twice about this place and the people that rave about it have no idea what hi end Chinese is all about. In actuality her dumplings are good. Crazy place. Like the other reviewer said the owner is crazy often out in front of the restaurant chain smoking cigarettes.

Was so looking forward to a good Chinese meal and read the ratings and felt this would be a very nice place to try. Walked in and greeted warmly. Told the food will take 30 minutes to prepare happy to find out it only took 15 minutes but unfortunately the food was inedible. We had the general chow chicken and the sesame chicken as well as mamas dumplings all this was very bland and cost $50 in food was so bad we popped popcorn instead And tried to feed the food to the dog who would have none of it please note this dog will eat anything Would not and could not recommend this to anyone

Havent been to this place in way too long - an amazing experience, honest and true. Ive ordered the sesami chicken (my own choice of white or dark meat) and opted for dark. The chicken is crispy and hot. The flavors are bursting, and the food is overall good. But to really be amazed, try the dumplings. The lady/owner there makes it herself and man are they good. So unique, a bit large (but thats good) and utterly delicious. Its such a small place youd almost miss it, or mistake it for something of lesser value and quality. But think again!

In my opinion The Bamboo House is the best Chinese food take out/sit down place hands done in Northern NJ. We met Sherry years ago and at that time made it our place of choice, they are very attentive, friendly. My daughters love going there and claim to have created their own dish, all white meat battered chicken breast with sliced mango. Sherry’s Moms dumplings are the best, the quality, freshness evident in all their offerings. We highly recommend it to all our friends, try it and youll become family.

The atmosphere screams "family-run, " and that it is. The food overall is quite good; but if you want to know the best item(s) Ive tried are the Wonton soup, and especially "Moms Dumplings, " Do. Not. Miss. These. Pork Dumplings, some of the best Ive had. The restaurant is very small so no parties of 10. Two or four people at a table. Just come and eat, or get it to go. Thank me later.

Many fresh ingredients and home-made with care. You can see them cutting up the fresh broccoli and snow peas and making the dumplings from scratch with higher quality meat, fresh scallions, etc. There is a love and respect for the food here that you dont notice at your run-of-the-mill Chinese takeout restaurant.

I love this place. Ambiance is not the reason. The food is. Wonderful warm little place. They asked me first time I was there for how hot I wanted it 1-10. I told her 14. They tried really hard. Offered to marinate the meat next time if I called early. THAT was a hot dish! Love the place!

Amazing food and ambience. Have not had chinese food like this in million years.Moms Dumplings were phenomenal. Sesame chicken to die for. So tender. Sherry was a joy as,well as Aldo and the rest of staff. Thank you for a delicious and suprising experience. We will be regulars fron now on.

I am a big fan of Chinese food, and highly recommend Bamboo House for your local take out. They use quality ingredients and the recipes are spot on. The Lemon Chicken, Wonton soup, Beef with Brocolli are all delicious. Excellent take out. Enjoy.
