I have gone to Gellottis a couple times and it has been to buy ice cream. So for my sisters 7th birthday she said she wanted a cookies and cream ice cream cake and I thought why not get it from Gellottis. I went in one week in advance and placed my order, the girl who works there told us we had to pay in advance and we ended up paying about $65+. The girl guarantees me that everything is set and to pick up around 1:30p. The day of the party, my dad tells me to call in advance and give them a heads up that we will be going a little earlier like about 1:00p. ( I didnt because I was confident that the order should have been done before the time of pick-up) I get there and the same girl sees us from a distance. Ofc we dont wanna bother because there were a couple other people getting ice cream so we waited ( because we had gone earlier to make it to the birthday party before the guests arrived) a couple minutes later she approaches us and tells us that SHE DIDNT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED but THE ORDER WAS NOT MADE. I have a 7 year old waiting for her cake and almost crying- which should have been the best day ever! And then they looking at us like what the heck how are they gonna fix this mess. Not only did I not get the cake that I wanted ( I got chocolate and vanilla instead of cookies and cream) but we also got to the birthday party late AND they only returned $6 back when they really should have refunded us 50% for not having our order done and making us wait almost an hour. We had parents calling us that they were there already and we were still on the way. We left Gellottis almost at 2pm and we got there by 1:10pm. They kept saying itll be done in 5 mins. Yeah right! Horrible horrible horrible! They should not hire people who are not responsible.

I appreciate the fact that when a mistake was pointed out they immediately resolved the situation. I purchased a quart of ice cream and although it was lightly packed they immediately recognized the problem and tried to remedy the situation. They offered to provide me with another quart for FREE but that was not the intention I had in mind nor is that necessary. They already acknowledged the situation and I hope for the right amount the next time! either way they are great and highly recommend!

Been getting Italian ice here since I was a little kid with my grandfather. Best Italian ice EVER. Ive been to LOTS of places, and no one can even come close. Ive never had their ice cream and my friends say their gelato is great, but all I care about is the ice. The place is always packed, long lines in the summer, but friendly and very attentive wait staff moves you through quickly. I live over 30 min drive from here, but no summer is complete without several tasty trips!!

Just flew in from Miami to have a 6 day stay between NY and NJ with my new fiancée. Gelotti was on my "places we MUST go" list. We both agree that theres just something diffrent about this place and thier ice cream. Its the bees knees. The real deal. The best damn ice cream on the east coast. Go with the Cookie dough ice cream in a waffle cone put in a large cup cover with warm caramel and whipped cream. Enjoy you moment of bliss.

High school kids ignoring customers standing in line and only serving their boyfriends or high school friends...I was waiting with my kid for 10 minutes while these 3 girls were flirting with 1 boy trying to get his order who came right up to the counter from the entrance....I left...my sister who goes there says the gelatto is ok...

One of Patersons most popular locations, they have plenty of choices for ice cream and Italian ice flavors. Expect long lines in the summer, but unlike some ice cream shops they are open year round, and reasonably late. Usually plenty of staff on hand and the sell either single serve and large amounts for events or personal use.

This is my favorite place for authentic gelato. My favorite is their pistachio. It get a very busy on summer nights but it is most definitely worth the wait. They also make the best ice cream cakes.
