I have been coming here for breakfast, lunch and coffee frequently with my friends and family. The food and the employees are ok, but so called "Owner" is an ill-mannered, disrespectful and rude person. I ordered an Italian Omelet and banana and walnut pancakes for me and my friend. When the food came out the omelet did not come with roasted peppers and onions. I told the waitress about it and she was very nice about it and took the plate in to fix it. Minutes later, the owner rushes out to our table so angry and furious that I could see his blood vessels popping out his neck. To my utter surprise, he starts accusing me of removing the onions and peppers from the omelet!! His voice was so loud that the entire restaurant pretty much shut up and watched the scene. I tried to tell him that it was a simple mistake but it was clear that no word was going through his head. After a couple of very intense minutes, my friend and I decided to walk out without eating the food. Its too bad because I usually like the food and I like the people, but when the OWNER barrages at his customer, and even more, accuses the customer of something he didn’t do, thats just not right. Frankly, if little things like onions and peppers make him this mad, perhaps he should look into other business, something that doesnt deal with people directly. I am never going back here, and nobody should. Run from the so called “Owner” at all cost.

This place may be the best breakfast and brunch place in the area. The staff is very nice and merry, and you feel like a member of the family. The coffee of the day is always really nice and creative, such as the Elvis flavour, which is banana and peanut butter. All the mugs used to belong to the owner, and they all are extremely charming and makes the place feel like your moms house. The food always comes looking like its from the menu. The homefries are a reason to come here alone. You will not regret getting the homefries. The regular fries are also very good. The wait time can be a bit long at times, but the quality of food more than makes up for it. This place is very good for parties as well. You would be hard pressed to match the excellence of this cafe.

i was there twice.once for brunch outside, once inside for lunch. both times the service was terrible because they coldnt handle the crowd. both times we waited too long to get our order in, and just as long for the food. people who sat after us were already eating before we even ordered. they kept apologizing, but it seemed the owner was too busy holding his grandchild, then taking care of us. he did aplogize , as did the waiter, but, what good is that???Inside , if crowded, is terribly noisy. if you order a wrap, most of the inside is lettuce and it is rediculously large, but, only because they stuff so much lettuce (not other food ) into it. for a coffee bar the coffee was horribly dark & bitter. i used almost the full creamer .

The chestnut cafe has always been a favorite place of mine but lately its looking a little lackluster and dirty. The decore including the paint has never been redone or even refreshed. The back enterance is quite off putting as there is a lot of plastic milk crates, chairs and other debris outside the kitchen door and the once landscaped patio with outdoor tables and umbrellas could use a good clean up. The owners are not even as nice or friendly as they once were. While the food is still as good as it ever was, the restaurant itself needs a clean up and make over.

Came here for breakfast and ate outside. The outside was a small charming spot with nice trees and plants. There were a number of families with small children who seemed to be enjoying themselves. The wait staff were super friendly, funny and attentive. The food was excellent and cooked perfectly. I had the Cali Breakfast Wrap which was great and loaded with avocado and cheese. Will definitely be brunching here again. What a great local spot.

Ive gone on the past and have been satisfied, but this last time the service was much slower. Particularity noticeable because it happened between the breakfast& lunch rush. My order was incorrect twice and i didnt see any real concern from the waitress about it. Dont get me wrong its a nice place with an extensive menu but my last experience was just not good.

Good food, nice service.. AVOID SUNDAY BRUNCH.. it was crowded and the noise level was deafening... It was so noisy that I could not even hear a screeching baby the next table over.. I would strongly recommend a different time

The food is delicious every time. I especially enjoy the various versions of Eggs Benedict. The cappuccino are also excellent. There is s small lot in the back, and plenty of street parking.
