This is for North Brunswick. I wish i could give it a 0 star. But read this very carefully. I have a huge party to be conducted for which i needed sweets in some kind of fancy boxes, though not too fancy but a simple version of fancy. so i go in here and ask this person on counter as to how much does the sweet cost, he tells me $11.95/lb. So i ask him how much for half a pound and he tells me politely $6. Which is fine. now i ask him that how much would be the cost of half a pound if i want the sweets in one of those boxes(I pointed towards the fancy box sample on display) and he hells me $15 and it will contain half a pound of sweets. I was shell shocked when i heard him say that itll cost $15 for half a pound just because its some ordinary looking fancy box. So i asked him, "Do you mean to say that your boxes are worth more than your sweets? half a pound sweets cost $6 and $9 for a box?................Seriously??". And he tells me that "Sir, the boxes are imported from India and hence theyre so costly?". I mean come on now, are you trying to tell me that there is no one among the Indian population in the USA who does not make boxes, and that too in "New Jersey", where the Indians are densely populated? SERIOUSLY.......This is loot business. The only message to you Mithaas folks is that, please stop looting people like this.your box didnt even looked that great so that someone would pay an extra $9 over $6 for just a half pound of sweets. Why do you think of doing such a cheap business? Dont you have any sense to Thug people like this?

I didnt have a good customer service experience here in past but still went there to buy sweets thinking it might have been an exception. I needed to buy chenna kheer as we were expecting some guests. The guy on the counter (they dont wear name tags, but he is fair complexioned with curly eye-lashes ;-)) said they dont sell it by pound so I asked him to give me five orders. When I noticed he charged me 5:95 per order, I showed him that the board behind him shows 4.95. He got very irritated and rudely said that he is giving me the detailed bill and the rate board on the wall is old. I paid about $32 for not so much sweets but his rudeness and attitude left a bitter taste in my mouth. Just now, I checked Mithas website, and Chena Kheer is listed at 4:95 on all the menus. So the guy overcharged me. When I showed him that he made a mistake, instead of correcting it, he told me that the rates on the wall are not updated. And I believed him. No more Mithas for me now on and to all indians reading this, there are lot of fair priced, better restaurants around, where customers are treated with respect. Go there.

I participated in goal gappa competition on 7/19.....we were given bowl full of 20 gol gappa and a jar of spicy water....we have to eat as many as possible gol gappa in a min...it was fun till we finish the competiton...to my surprise left over gol gappas were not alloweded to be finish by contestant, instead manager instructed waiter to carry them carefully and reuse for next round. Same with jar of water in which people has put their end while eating during competiton....who served left over food from one customer to other in a restaurant.....how can you trust a restuarnat that they will not serve left over food from previous customers to new customers after witnessing such incident... Food is really pricey for the quantity served but still was considering untill now because of good taste....but after such a bad experience, i will never visit them agian.....

Arrogant staff, more arrogant manager. Overcrowded. They keep credit card with them on the counter if you ask them to keep the tab open - do they think people are going to run away without paying? Once my credit card was compromised after they kept it on the counter for 45 minutes. Next day I called to bring it to the attention of the owner and received very indifferent response.

Good food, but I have heard that they do not give their servers tips...That is an atrocity! If you put tip directly on the receipt or put it in the tip box, I have heard that the management keeps it! Give it directly to the servers... Honestly why cant Mithas give water jugs? Is it too much to ask? Every time I want water I have to get up to go to the water cooler to get it...

one of the best Indian veggie restaurants here in NJ.... its a must to try place... way too many variety of items to choose from, different cuisines to try (from different parts of India)... they are very fresh and you can get it in the taste.... sweets are fresh too and tend to get over fast and they quickly replenish it.... a must try for all veggies....

I liked this place for the following reasons., 1. Indian Chat Items., 2. I like Samosa and Raj Kachori., 3. I love the veg Biryani and Masala vada. 4. Dosa is also good. recently when i went in one afternoon, the food is good as usual but i smelled oil which made me to un-usually irritating.,

Ordered Gujarati Thali, there wasnt anything Gujarati about it. Sambar, kala chana, okra, fried rice, amrakhand is not what one would expect while ordering Gujarati Thali. At least one of the authentic gujju foods like dhokla, kadhi, thepla or methi bonda wouldve been nice. Disappointed.

Over priced, less than average service, average taste. Good location and spacious seating. Update: Feb 2017 Same rating as earlier. Prices have gone up. Pani Puri which is an inch or less diametrically costs $1. An order of Pani Puri has 6 puris and costs about $6. Too greedy!

The sweets (Kalakand) bought were stale when we checked after coming home. It is really sad that even for such highly priced items, Mithaas does not check whether the stuff they are selling is good quality or not. Anyone buying sweet, do check the freshness before paying

The food is good and the sweets are good as always, visited here once in January 2015. If youre wanting some good Indian vegetarian food in the, this is the place. Service is something they should work on especially ordering Thalis. I would recommend any thali to eat.

The place used be well maintained but because of overwhelming responses now its just regular restaurant. Some orders cant be addressed by the waiters because they are too "busy". Just dont expect much and go then you will be fine.

Good food however very chaotic place. Cashiers are very rude. Once u have ordered food and eating incase you want to order more you have to go back and wait in line again. Self service may not work for all. Very expensive.

Bought rasmalai today, had a bite and had to throw it away because they had gone bad. As soon as i opened the box it smelled really bad. I should have went back and thrown it there.. Not coming back at least for the sweets...
