Overated, overpriced, and overhyped. This deli had been the subject of high honor at my school for as long as I could remember. Students raved about the "Godfather" and "Gossip Girl" so I finally decided to give it a try and was extremely dissatisfied with the experience. Ill start off with the staff, who, upon our partys arrival, bombarded us with repeated requests for our order, despite telling them multiple times that we were still deciding. (Hey bud with the beard, Patience is key!) It was even weirder because there was no line so I really do not understand why they tried to rush my order. I ordered a Soprano, and the rest of my party had other suggested sandwiches like the Gossip Girl and Godfather. We had all of our sandwiches except one, the Bull Something, when we tried to ring up to pay. The cashier said we couldnt pay until the sandwich came out and held our sandwiches on her side of the counter. This may seem nitpicking, but I cant fathom why we couldnt just pay and hold our damn sandwiches instead of being babied as such. The total for five sandwiches plus water and chips was 70 dollars, which for us is affordable but outrageous for deli fare. Again, the whole ordeal was just unpleasant. I felt like an outsider the entire time and was treated as such. There are plenty of other delis around that serve quality cuts at an affordable price, dont waste your time.

Putting the DELI in DELICIOUS! If you want an amazing Taylor, Ham & Egg Breakfast sandwich, the Millburn Deli is the place to get it. If you want a mouth-watering griller, theyve got those too. The most delicious sandwiches made fresh to order, their famous Sloppy Joe cant be beat. I grew up in NJ and now live in CA and never fail to grab a few Deli sandwiches for my trip back to the west coast while shoving bottles of their homemade Iced Tea into my luggage. Im craving Deli - a neighborhood staple - as I type this and lucky for me they do cross-country deliveries during the winter months. The staff acts like one big happy family and make everyone feel like theyre a regular customer and part of it too. I love this place!

Its the best. Seriously, it is the best. It can be difficult to explain how wonderful this place is to a person who has never partaken in its wonder and splendor, but I (accurately and truthfully) claim 100% conversion rate. Literally, every person I have either taken here, or feed food to that was procured here, has had a brainmelting moment of Zen; which is characterized by a sudden halt in chewing, a widening of the eyes, a slow and careful resumption of chewing followed by a breathless utterance of "...oh my gosh" or "holy crap, this is ridiculous." - It is my favorite deli. Stop by and itll become yours too.

Today I happened to visit the rudest place in Millburn I was on crutches and no one even held the door for me! As I stepped inside the place and took a number and waited for my turn when the man with the beard took my order he was so rude! I asked for a number 8 with no lettuce I thought he was going to faint. The outrageous $8.75 for a small sandwich which was not even very good and the horrible service leaves something to be desired! There are so many happy places in Millburn with great food and comparable prices. This one gets a zero from me! Rita Roslaniec Livingston, NJ

People always think fondly of their hometown deli, but nobody thinks so fondly that they request sandwiches be shipped cross-country! The Millburn Deli does this regularly. Yes, the sandwiches are *that* good. Try their famous sloppy joes or go for one of their signature sandwiches like the "Urban Cowboy" or "Godfather." Guaranteed to satisfy and youll be pondering ridiculous journeys in the future just for one of their sandwiches.

I have a few friends who swear the Millburn Deli is the best thing they have ever eaten. Im not sure if I would go that far, but it is pretty good. It usually very busy in there, but that adds to the experience. I will mention that parking can be a hassle, and it is by no means cheap. make sure you bring at least $15 per person if you want a sandwich and a drink/chips.

Not sure why all the strong reviews for this place. 11 dollars for a turkey and cheese sandwich with a drink. The price would not be that bad if they actually put more than 3 slices of turkey on the sandwich. So in reality is a sandwich with mostly bread. Dont waste your time. Only gave it 2 stars because they seem to have a good selection and outdoor seating.

I love the millburn deli, everything here is good. The gossip girl, godfather, and tri-tip steak sandwiches are my absolute favorites. The mac and cheese, and other sides are all delicious, and the desserts are great too. The line can get excessively long, but I find myself standing in it anyway. I will go back here forever, anytime I am in the area.

OMG!!! This place is crazy! Right up my ally - great Italian food : ] I just finished probably the best chicken sandwich of my life!!! They have a large menu and i am pretty sure everything is amazing!! Stave are friendly and can pump out food! The only thing i dont like is the price - it will probably cost you 10 - 15 $... Highly recommended!

Probably the worst experience Ive ever had at a deli.. Sure they have plenty of sandwiches that have been sitting out all day but I just wanted an Italian.. The sandwich I got maybe had 3 slices of ham on it and they had the nerve to demand 10.25, just for the sandwich.. I dont think Ill ever go there again.

Fantastic sandwiches! It gets busy at lunch time, especially on the weekends, but the crew works fast and frankly theres something enjoyable about that bustling atmosphere and the enthusiasm of the regulars (and the crew of course -- "Gobbler!" honk, honk!).

Whats to say? This is a landmark in Millburn New Jersey and will be forever! Very busy, but worth it! The sloppy joes are ridiculously good. We travel almost 2 hours to enjoy the food! The Millburn Deli has been a favorite in our family for over 40 years

All the food Ive ever had from here is great. But I recently started going for breakfast and all I have to say is the coffee is terrible. They have like a keureg style machine, and its just watered down and barley even tastes like coffee

Delicious! Their "sloppy Joes" arent what youd think they are. HIGHLY recommend giving them a shot. Some outdoor areas to eat during nice weather. Nowhere to eat inside and its so popular its standing room only to order.

Good Tuscan chicken sandwich. For $9.75 I was expecting a larger sandwich. Was smothered in sauce. I mean it was good and all just dont come looking for a value or leaving full unless you also got a bag of chips.

I was not a big fan of this deli. I had heard some good reviews from others, but when I tried a sandwich here a couple of days ago, it was not what I was expecting it to be at all. I wont be coming back again.

If youve never been or never have, try the Gobbler, Griller #8, & Godfadder. Dont let any of the sandwich combos deter or fool you, though. Every sandwich is perfect for its flavor profile. Highly recommended
