Walked in, one man behind counter with his back to myself and another customer. No greeting, no acknowlegement. Building was filthy, dingy dark color on all surfaces. After about 5 minutes of looking at deli case filled with Cole slaw and chicken salad that had clearly been sitting for some time we left. As we left a woman came out of the back asking if we needed help, we said we are just going to be leaving and she proceeded to follow us out the door asking if we needed help. As we pulled into another plaza to eat we realized she had followed us in her car after we left. She then proceeded to silently stare us down and follow us around the plaza. She seemed to take down my license plate and finally drove away. Come for the cleanliness stay for the wonderful staff.

Terrible. Never gets the order right. Check your order before leaving. Thats the best advice I can give you. Order a toasted bagel with cream cheese. Its un toasted with butter. Order a bagel with butter and he gives you cream cheese. Its almost like he does what he wants but not what you ordered. And its not just once. Its every time. Finally I threw in the towel and wont return again.

I dont know why I gave this place as many chances as I did. Every single time he gets the order incorrectly. Have the time the eggs are under cooked. The other half the grease is soaked through the bag and hash browns are literally raw. Please, if you care about your health, avoid this place at all costs. Its a filthy

The Milk Box Deli is a wonderful place to eat. The atmosphere is wonderful a true local gem. All salads are made fresh everyday and if your a fan of chicken salad the place has the best in the tristate area. They also cater for all types of events

Best sandwiches in Matawan, you would never know by passing by but this place is perfect for breakfast an lunch. Always fresh and delicious. Would give it ten stars if I could!
