I enjoyed lunch here recently with three friends who were taking me out for my birthday. The three choices for restaurants had menus on line and I picked 54 Main because it had the most salad choices. Each of us got a different salad and each was totally pleased with the choice we made! Salad items were fresh and appealingly plated, the dressings were also "fresh" and not cloying. Our waiter was very attentive and kept our water glasses (and wine glasses) filled. The dessert we picked was the chocolate "lava-type" cake - and this was also excellent - chocolatey but not so dense that you cant enjoy the cake. The coffee cups were "bottomless" - which we all enjoy when we get together for a catch-up. The place can be a little noisy at "full capacity" as it is a bar and there is a large lunch crowd. Even full-up, our service was excellent and very accommodating. I will definitely be returning here for a dinner to see how their dinner menu compares!

March 2012, A DANGEROUS PLACE!!!!! We recently had a experience here, that anyone with a food allergy should be aware of. We informed our waitress that someone in our party had a food allergy to dairy and nuts. She informed us that the kitchen recommended a particular dish for this person. It arrived at our table just as our friend started to eat it, my girlfriend picked at it. She took one bite and yelled nuts!. The dish was prepared with peanuts. When we informed the manager he made a off the cuff comment about the waitress. When we confronted the owner, he told us that if our friend had an allergy he should not eat out. REALLY!!! This owner, Joe, is a insensitive jerk at best. No one ever said they were sorry or took any responsibility for the mistake. Our friend was ok as he didnt eat any of the food.

Really good place! Getting a table took a little while, but we had a large group. They were also very accommodating about putting tables together for us. Service was decent - the place was packed so we only saw our waitress a few times. She was amazing though, remembering food and drink orders for ~10 people without writing anything down. She was also really polite, which didnt hurt things. I had the chicken burger, which was really good. Also had someones nachos, which were pretty good. Good selection of beers too. Will definitely be back.

I was recently at 54 Main for a happy hour/dinner with my friends. I have been there quite a few times previously, and the experiences were consistently positive. This recent time was no different. The selection of the craft beers were quite good, as were the food. The decor is nice, atmosphere is lively, especially if theres a band playing. Service was very good, fairly attentive. Would definitely recommend to those who have never been.

I really like this place. They consistency put out excellent food. I had a steak au poivre sandwich. It was a very tender piece of steak with melted provolone cheese, arugula and brandy peppercorn sauce. It was delicious. If I had to complain the fries could have been hotter. I have been here approximately a dozen or so times and the food, service and atmosphere never disappoint. I am also a big fan of their Sunday brunch and beer selection.

This was a really cute bar and grill, I went for happy hour for drinks and appetizers. We ordered the pot stickers and nachos, and I really enjoyed both. The nacho platter was a ton of food, and the drinks were inexpensive. They had plenty on tap to choose from and quite a large bar area. We were served quickly even though it was the height of happy hour and the bar was quite crowded. I would go back, potentially even for dinner.

I am giving two stars because the drinks are good here, the food delivery for the three or four times I was here was consistently slow and one time awful. The awful time was where they send food to half the table and the people with hamburgers were left to watch them let there food get cold. The whole time telling us soon, soon, instead of telling us what was wrong.

Great bar, food and atmosphere This is the best bar in the area. It really has the look and feel of the Cheers bar with a great atmosphere and really good food. I come here all the time to watch the games with friends (they have a great bar area with lots of flat-screen TVs). They also have great live bands at night (my favorites are Lurker Park and Trainwrek).

Great food but really needs some interior updating. but dark due to all of the heavy wood paneling and red brick. It is also very loud and hard to have a conversation bc of the tin ceilings. The food really is wonderful but the dated atmosphere and noise level takes away from that.

One of my go to spots in town. Good service, food is always out quickly, and Ive never ordered something on the menu here that wasnt good. Great place to eat with the family or hang out by the bar and have a few drinks.

Place has good beers and a lot of potential but smelled like a baby diaper / puke in the entire bar area. Will go back and if smell improved will rerate but for now thats insurmountable it was grim

The food is always delicious. Service is pretty good and its a nice place for groups or a date night. Theres also a sports bar if youre just wanting to hang and have drinks. Full menu and full bar.
