Weve been regulars for years. We stopped going a while ago because we got sick a few times after eating there. We went back because its a familiar place and we thought to give it another try. The food is just okay, some of the dishes are really bad. We got the meatloaf and it looked like a piece of toast. It was tan, tan meatloaf. We got a burger, so greasy that a half hour later we had stomach pains. Then the final blow comes. We had a bad day and said lets just to to the Lyndhurst. The place was empty and they had 3 hostesses walking around in circles, one guy kept standing near our table to watch TV. Another older woman walked by our table about 5 times then stops, leans in to look at the remains of our meal and says "YUM YUM, how is everything?". How creepy is that. So my husbands says to her "are you getting your exercise walking around in circles?" And she says "Im getting a pay check at the end of the week, thats all I care about." What an attitude these people have. The tall hostess was very rude to us over a mistake on our bill and tried to turn it around and make it our fault. The waitress was new and made a mistake, instead of saying "sorry, there was a mistake" she flipped it on us. I was so angry I made a scene and said were never coming back and my husband says to her "youll see this in a review" she says "go right ahead". Obviously they have fake reviews written for them because the place is going down hill. Its empty. There used to be lines out the door. Now its only the old neighborhood folks. Good riddance, go out of business already!

Aftee a long day of helping a friend move and not eating all day as we passed this diner, we figured wed give it a try. As we walked in, it looked ok but not many people. The waitress came over and we asked for seltzer with lemon while we looked at the menu. This bus boy came over with our seltzer, dropped my straw on the floor, picked it up and put it next to my glass on the table. Thats when we should have left but being cold and tired we stayed. The waitress came over and I told her my straw fell on the floor and asked for another one. She gave it to me. When our food came, dhe reached over my glass and with her arm she banged into my straw! I guess I wasnt meant to drink my seltzer! So my husbands chicken salad was not good, and my tuna salad was brown and smelled so fishy I removed most of it and ate very little. A few hours later I had stomach pain like I never had in my life!!!! The pain continued the entire night and the next day. I will save you the disgusting details but this was definitely food poisining! No one should eat at thus place!

I was there for breakfast this morning with my wife for the third time since Ive known this place, we went there because the food is "ok", the prices are very affordable and because its never as crowded as "tops diner" of Newark -my favorite diner ever-. What makes me never want to go back to this place is that, although the place is inexpensive, the bill which was supposed to be around $24 dls said $33 dls. It wass the fist time I check a Bill because it seem a little weird and then the numbers just didnt add up. I was the most embarrassed but decided to ask the waitress about it, she came uo with nonsense excuses like "coffee or juice is not included in the breakfast price" which was a blatant lie since the menu said it did. Well, I wasnt up for an argument so I just left 40 dls and left. They wont see a dollar from me again though.

I went to this place one evening to grab something to take out. I stood in the front while 3 employeew stood there talking with each other while next to me. NOT one of them bothered to seat me or asked if they could help me. I Just stood there waiting and after about 5 minutes a white Guy came in and was assisted and seated right away. He was greeted lovingly and it looked nice but I will never know! Im Hispanic so I guess they dont serve my kind, or we are served differently than others. A terrible thing to experience in this day and age. I never got to try the food so I will be fair in that regard but the service is awful -unless you appeal to owners and staff I would imagine! Simply a God-awful experience!! I would caution everyone away from this place unless youre into being treated horribly!!

Wish I could give this place zero stars. I am a regular at this place and went in with my family for lunch and was served a cheeseburger with a hair in it. After I complained to our nasty waitress who could hardly speak English she took the plate back and then stood in a corner with the other Spanish waitress staring at us talking. Didnt bring us any napkins or offer a chair for my 2 year old. They must have changes waitresses because just last month our regulars were there and they were great. Horrible. Never going back again. Nasty!!!!!!!

First time here , horrible customer service and the manager was rude. we were a large group and asked about a bill split and the waitress said we were allowed to split it individually so when we reached the register the sweet cashier was being nice and the manager was rude and disrespectful speaking in Italian which we all understood. very disappointed will not return! now i understand why the place was empty. also food was not that great

Everytime I come in here, the place is clean, the food is fresh, the people are freindly. My favorite waitress is KIM LANT. She has such an upbeat spirit. Kim is very attentive to your every need. She makes you feel warm and welcomed with her smile. Also JUDY MARRA, is also a great waitress., she also has a beautiful personality. I highly recommend this place. I truly love comming here! Please ask for KIM LANT. AWESOME!

The food was terrible. The waitress tried her best to please us but the food was not properly seasoned or cooked correctly. The veggies where old and smelled and tasted terrible. The decor was very outdated and it seems that only regulars come to this place because even the regulars where surprise of seeing new customers.

Horrible place .. If your not to their liking then you can expect to wait a long time for their Shitty FooD.. Been their Once and Will Never go back Nor recommend it to Anyone.. To bad I had to give you guys a Star because your definitely not worth it !

Best dessert Ive ever had. Angie cuts the best pieces of pie. Try the raspberry chocolate pie with a plain slice of cheesecake on top with vanilla ice cream on the side. You will die (maybe literally). Go get it today, the best diner in NJ!!!!!
