I have frequented the midtown NYC BonChon location many times, and each time the food was excellent. When I saw this BonChon location in Jersey City, I got excited, until I actually walked in and tried their food... This place has the same aroma as a cheap Chinese food restaurant (a surprise to me, as the other BonChon did not have an odor). The chicken strips were actually little flat asymmetrical discs, and looked like they were pounded down to flatten them, maybe as a cost saving measure to get more chicken from each piece? The midtown NYC BonChon location serves good portioned tender strips, which are not flattened, and actually have thickness to them. The crisp of the chicken itself was excellent, but due to the flat nature of the strips, the meat was not very moist (again, using the midtown BonChon as a comparison). Lastly, the sauce was not distributed on the strips evenly or consistently. On a positive note: the service was great, super friendly, attentive, polite, and friendly. I thought it was kind of strange that their 10-piece strip (for about $11) was the smallest portion they served. What do individual eaters get, 10 entire pieces for one person?! This place is 3-stars overall as a chicken place -- but for a BonChon location -- this is only 1-star. I was really disappointed that the food quality was not on par with the midtown location. I can live with a smelly restaurant, but dont cut corners and serve flat-patty chicken tender strips. I wont be returning.

A bit disappointed in lack of management. The website states that there is a $15.00 minimum for delivery, which is a tad much, but alright, I do like Bon Chons chicken strips. After I put my order in, the representative informed me that there is a $20 minimum for delivery, and noted that the website is wrong. So I cancelled my order. In sum, Bon Chon lost a $16.76 order, no tip for the delivery employee, plus any future purchases from me because they wanted an extra $4.24.

Until recently, I really loved their special dish, "Bonchon salad" that had lots of different fresh veggies, edamame, and a special sauce. And nice small bits of freshly made chicken. Now they dont make it any more. I tried the Cesar Chicken salad, which was an OK lunch salad. Perhaps comparable to a Pret-a-Manger salad (but Im not sure whether Bonchon also uses organic ingredients).

The texture and crispness were perfect The flavor was better than a high average The price was a but high for the style of the establishment. It was akin to going to an NYC Chinese take put spot and paying a childs ransom. I heard about this style of food from the Motley Fool podcast and had to try it. I Def recommend it, but hopefully you find it for less than 12.00 for 10 wings!

This place wont survive. Jersey City is a place where people know each other, especially small business owners. No personal treatment and food was over priced for the value. As a local business owner and regular customer. I rather go to the other surrounding places where the business owners go out of there way for each other and customers.

The food is SO GOOD but they close rather early and it takes a little while for them to make/serve your food. I was sitting in the restaurant for 20 minutes waiting for a simple wrap - turns out the wrap was sitting on the shelf, ready to be handed to me. The staff isnt very aware or on top of who needs to be served

the soy-garlic flavor is one of the best flavor. crispy outside with a little crunch and juicy inside. the coleslaw is one of the best i had so far and the seasoned fries are cooked to perfection. if youre thinking of keeping some for left overs dont be surprise when you dont, its that good not to finish it.

Dark area but great spot to go to when every place else in Ktown is expensive and busy. A small serving of the fried chicken strips and a side of rice was enough for me. Would come back here, especially if theres a really big game on. They have projectors in the middle!

If youre into chicken fingers as a kid, this place is a must. The crispiness BonChom delivers is hard to achieve and the sauces are perfect. However the wait time can be excruciating so bring something to read or just come back 15 minutes later.

Bon Chon chicken is a Korean BBQ and wings place. The service is very good. They are famous for their wings. I like the soy garlic myself. They have great happy hour specials. Also they do have multiple locations across the city.

Korean friend chicken and barbeque. Its pretty good, but after a few weeks of getting the food at this chain restaurant I realized I was getting headaches afterwards, which makes me wonder if they were sprinkling on the MSG a bit hard.

Walked in at 8:50pm on Sat. The guy just told me they stopped taking order and then went ahead to turn off the menu on overhead TV. Come on. The store hours listed outside is 9pm. I will never go to this store again.

As someone who knows what Korean food should taste like, I say you better order somewhere else. Horrible food. I am utterly surprised this restaurant hasnt been shut down yet. Simply the worst food.

Im a fan of this chicken. Crispy and crunchy with great flavor. The only downside is the wait. 30+ minutes seems a bit much. I guess you cant rush perfection.

We love the popcorn chicken. It comes with a honey glaze but you can request no honey. We like it better without the honey.

The chicken is good. One advice for the owner: smile to the customers. Dont look so upset all the time...
