We made a reservation for Fathers Day at 6:30pm for Hibachi. Arrived at 6:25 and were told it would be 5-10 minutes. So we went to the bar and waited. At 6:45 my wife inquired with the manager and said they were "just waiting for the table to leave" - 5 more minutes. At 7:00, we asked to speak to same manager who told us that the table was still occupied, they were still eating and there was nothing we could do. So, if they were still eating, it was likely going to be another 30 minutes at least (by the time everyone finished and paid). So, an hour wait, with a 3 year old, and no offer of anything. He just said it wasnt his fault and there was nothing they could do. So we left. How about an alternative non-Hibachi table? A small appetizer on the house while we waited? NOTHING. Never again. Very disaapointed. Consider yourself warned...

Been here for lunch over 5 times sushi and sashimi has been ok. I ordered Singapore noodles twice first time they were great second time less than month later and they served them to me without being cooked with curry which is what Singapore noodles are. I said that the dish was not spicy there is no curry. I was told You have to ask for spicy even though menu clearly states it is a spicy dish. Was brought back the same plate with hot sauce. No curry. They Took the plate back for the second time and re cooked they noodles with curry which were now tough and not edible. Bad service this go around last time I eat there.

Orders were taken, including appetizers. Chef started cooking main course, still no apps. Asked server about them, the reply was what do you want for appetizers? Chef finished everyones main course except one of our party. She was told it was being made in the kitchen. (No reason given) Time passed, still nothing. Went to ask, server didnt understand English. Found manager, apparently the dinner was NOT being made in the kitchen. Seems no one at the establishment cared that one of our party had no food. Wont be making the mistake of going again.

Decided to try this place out for the first time. The food took so long even though it was practically empty when we arrived. By the time we left it was pretty crowded. The shumai and pineapple fried rice were ok. The water tasted so dirty I could not even drink it. The pad Thai was not good at all and was super spicy, which wasnt good because there was only dirty water to drink with it. The shrimp in the pad Thai was dry and way over cooked. Not a place I will ever try again.

Sawa Eatontown was once a good place for Hibachi, but now it is one of the worst. I went with my family for celebrating my sisters birthday. The quantity of food served today was so less and when I questioned the waiter, he didnt have a clue of what I was asking. Then the manager came in and was giving some silly excuses and justification. Neither did they bother to apologize nor do something about the bad service. Not recommended to take guests

Oh wow, where do I start? Simple take-out, forgot one of the meals had to go back in rush hour traffic then get home to see my ahi tuna salad was in a mini bowl with approximately three pieces of lettuce. The other salad we had to go back for was missing cashews andThai noodles and the chicken tasted uncooked and rubbery. The meal was a Thai chicken salad without the Thai noodles. What a joke I dont know how they stay in business.

Although the food is excellent it is a bit overpriced. I love how the food is cooked in front of you, and that the chefs do tricks. I really love the noodles but sometimes they are too salty. Also the chicken is a bit too dry sometimes. The service is pretty good, you need to wait a little bit for the chef to come. At some (or maybe all) of the locations you need to make a reservation because it is always very busy there.

The food is pretty good as far as Hibachi goes but it is pretty unreasonably priced. Ichiban right down the road offers the same food for a much better price point. You pay for the Sawa name unfortunately. I also wouldnt recommend this for a "date night." Last time I was there I got stuck next to a family with two small, crying children, it put a damper on the night. The wait service isnt that great either, very slow.

We went with friends for New Years and one of us was allergic to shrimp. They messed up everyones dishes, then we found out after the fact that they cooked all the food together, and my friend had to rush her husband to the hospital. They refused to comp their meals when they screwed up. Manager was nasty and rude. Havent been back and wont ever go back. Ichiban on 35 is was better!

Horrible management & bad service. They open for lunch until 3:00, but if you are not there by 2:00, they give you an attitude. I arrived with my family at 2:15, the manager was not happy and said that if we didnt know what to order in 1 minute, they couldnt serve us. I told them that I lost my appetite and left. I will never go back again. Why don;t they close their doors at 2:00??

The sashimi is very good. However, dont bother with fried rice or anything else other than sushi. First day I had sashimi and sushi.... good experience. So figure go back again on second day and tried something else; got the pineapple fried rice and it was terrible. Service is also not very friendly... my server took my order with a cold stare and not much of greeting.

Lets just say that what was suppose to be my bachelorette lunch this past Sunday turned in to nightmare as two cooks got into a fight on the dining room floor and one decided to take a huge knife and stab the other twice as my 10 year old nieces watched in Horror!!! You are all pieces of garbage and all deserve to be put away and your establishment needs to be SHUT DOWN!

I have been here 7-8 times before and usually I have an enjoyable experience. This time for hibachi our chef was awful. The rice could not be considered fried rice, he never let it sit and fry there were still chunks of white rice left. It was also so cold in there the food was cold so quickly. The noodles were so soaked in sauce and salty I couldnt even eat them.

My family and I have been coming here for years. I have to say , there has been a drastic change in the past two years. It used to be a really fun atmosphere where you were promised a delicious meal. Now, the atmosphere is boring and the food is priced to high for being so bland, as in no flavor at all. Not sure what went wrong over there but we will never be going back.

To date, I have eaten @ Sawa (Eatontown) about 6 times. The food has always tasted good and only once was my ordered [dessert] wrong. Mostly I eat here for lunch. Also, I never had Hibachi here. If you want a 5-star Japanese Restaurant, I recommend Kanji on Shrewsbury Ave.
