Ive been going here for years. They recently remodled, a year or two ago, and it looks nicer inside now, a better atmosphere. I think the prices are fair. Recently though, Ive been noticing there are certain things better left unordered. We ordered steaks, which were great, only to find that someone in the kitchen cut the baked potato with aluminum foil around it, thus there were aluminum foil flakes mashed into the potato. There used to be issues with substitutions as well, where without being asked if it was ok wed get a subtituation of whatever wed order. Its a 60/40 odds most of the time. I also had the similar issue of another reviewer, where for two nights in a month, the waitor was utterly useless, and did not check up on us and would vanish when we needed something. That was near the end of last year though. Even our favorite waitress had some faults, where she brought us something we didnt order (soup instead of salad, almost forgot to bring the leftovers back to the table), but she did apologize and explain the day had been unusually busy and hectic. Overall: 3/5 Food: 2/5 ~ 4/5 (typically 4/5) Service: 1/5 ~ 4/5 (depending on the waitors, typically 4/5 though) Atmosphere: 4/5 Value: 4/5 (decent portions) Its a decent place, Im not sure what the chef is really trained to cook to recommend certain dishes over others, and obviously I will question how potatoes could be ruined by cutting the aluminum foil into them. The soup is always good. The bread has gone down since the renovations. The cinnamon bread and cream cheese breads in specific, barely have any spread/cream in the centers and are often very dry to eat. If you order a meal that comes with them you get them, but two meals with them still seems to only result in one bread basket. Order meals with the soup/salad instead. If you complain, Ill tell you right now Ive seen 3 far worse diners than Prestige in my life. Reality is that it is actually a decent place to in this day and age. I suggest asking what the chef actually specializes in and asking the waitor/waitress for recommendations before you order, and ask to be informed prior if they need to make substituations.

Back when they were doing all the construction on the Turnpike I would frequently get off and drive through Hightstown even stopping in at another diner whose parking lot wasnt usually very good for the vehicle I was driving. A few weeks ago however I had reason to drive past the Prestige Diner and saw their parking lot was a lot more user friendly if I was driving a larger vehicle. When I was asked to pick up some folks at JFK airport this past week I saw this as good a chance as any to stop in and check them out. The building is a nice looking place and the parking was roomy enough to be able to park a larger vehicle whether an RV, a box truck or as I drive a school bus. As I entered the diner I was pleasantly greeted by the hostess and offered a booth seat and not just a tiny little table like so many places do when you are dining alone. The young lady who was taking care of me however is a different story, not that she was mean or ignorant she just seemed as though she would rather be somewhere else. When she went to the table behind me though she was very engaging with them but they might have been regulars or maybe she was being flirtatious with the son. Since I wasnt very hungry and was really only there to see if I would consider going back for dinner or something I ordered from the specials menu which included coffee but it was only one small cup as I was never offered a refill. The coffee itself was good but the cup was so small I had to hold it around the cup as I couldnt even get a finger in the handle. I will consider coming back for dinner or lunch but I wont get the coffee again. Try them out and when you are ready to leave go out the rear of the building especially if you are going to the Turnpike.

I went here for St Patricks day for corn beef and cabbage. Was not impressed with the corn beef it was flavorless and tough. It seemed as though it was a prepackage deli corn beef. It was cut so thin you were unable to see any fat. When trying to cut it with a steak knife it was tough and chewy. It had no pickling flavor. If I wanted deli slices I would have gone to a grocery store and then heated in my microwave. It did not seemed to be boiled JUST SLICED AND HEATED Had better corn beef at many other diners I have had other foods here which were very good.Only have gone there about 5x I would go back

Food is good, but service going downhill. Poorly trained staff. They have a high school kid, with no sanitary common sense. Picks up glasses with his hands inside glass, received soup without crackers, no bread offered, no parmesan cheese offered with spaghetti, had to ask for extra napkins, didnt refill my drink glass until asked and then put his fingers at the top where I am drinking from. Had to ask for dessert, and check. Your having trouble hiring staff, try training them, but managers a little lazy. Really dont need guys sweaty hands all over my drink glass.

Ok so this is the third time ive been here and i was hoping it would be different but here we go got there at 10:30 they close at 12. The waiter tells us there only serving sandwiches and burgers and no soup and i wanted a ny strip but settled for a burger, then some people come in and sit next to us and order steak and soup this place is officially the worst diner on rt 33 dont waste your time and to who ever said the potato skins were good, that must have been his first potato skin ever. We ordered the sampler it was disgusting. Enjoy

Honestly, its better priced than any diner in the area and has better food. As far as the bread goes, does one really expect to receive 8 or 10 pieces of bread when half will get thrown away? No - its industry standard to supply enough for table and then refill if needed. As for the chef- really, speciality in cooking?! Its a DINER for christs sake- youll be lucky if the guy speaks English on any given shift. If you want to rate a restaurant that way- dont go to a diner!

The food was mediocre...salad was one tomato, lettuce and a chicken strip for 8 dollars..burger was a frozen patty cooked...and the service horrible...kids didnt get the ice cream they were supposed to get and we only saw the waiter twice..and it wasnt busy..but when we left the wait staff was out smoking...

My family and I are regulars here. Their food is good, the service is top notch. Often, we go here for breakfast. During the weekdays, they have some nice specials and I recommend their creamed chiped beef on toast. My So enjoys their eggs benidict. We are also fans of their various omlets.

The French onion soup was decent, but the pot roast seemed suspiciously like it came out of a can, the mashed potatoes were definitely instant, and the spinach and rice was just brownish overcooked mush. Staff was friendly and it has nice atmosphere, maybe I just got unlucky with the food.
