Norm!!!! Gyps will not disappoint. If you like bars, REAL bars, youll be right at home at Gyps. On a cool breezy day you can sit outside with a lake view, have a great burger, and listen to a great jukebox. The beers are pretty cheap compared to NY standards. Favorite shirt reads, "Hey vegetarians... my food poops on your food." (with a picture of a cow pooping on vegetables) Going NW on 206, its just past the Gasarama, on the left. Coming SE on 206 its just past Stokes State Forest, on your right. Great new owner served our country in the USAF. Tell em Brooklyn Cliff sent you. Cheers!

Gyps is amazing. Order a chicken pattie, and a pbr and BAM! its 1955. Theyre food is awesome. Not in a "honey pass me the chilled salad fork" kinda way, but in a "Jesus Christmas this place serves deep fried middle school style chicken patties" kinda way. Also, when Babe Ruth used to vacation in Sussex county, this was his bar! Pool table in winter, horseshoes and fishing in the lake in the summer. Gyps tavern hits all the right notes, and receives a 10 outta 10 in my book.

This place use to be amazing. Came here for years. Fish off the dock and the old owner was so sweet and friendly. Now a mast, rude bartender that has zero manners. No hello. No do you need another drink. No smile. This is why no one that has trailers in Walpack goes there anymore. Guess I needed to experience for myself.

Never a better burger - triple with 3 kinds of cheese, bacon, leaf lettuce, thick tomato slice, raw sliced onion and grilled onions, barbque sauce sesame seed bun held together with a chopstick complimented with chili cheese tater tots and a ginger ale all served by Kristen with a nice smile.

Cool little bar set on a lake. The food is surprisingly good - try the bratwurst or coconut shrimp. The inside its your standard dice bar and could probably use a good cleaning, but the decor fits the style. The backyard is beautiful with tables, plants, and a dock.

I enjoyed my time here. Not the portions an AT hiker could hope for, yet the food was good. They run short staffed, at least on a Tuesday, however they are friendly and accommodating. The lake is just feet from the lake.. a beautiful view!

By far the worst service Ive dver seen... The bar tender was extremely rude And each time weirdered drinks, it would take atleast 10 minutes forus to actually get our drinks. Terrible servicedoesnt even deserve one star

A great place for a few beers and some descent bar food at a fair price. Play some pool or go out back on a nice day and sit along the lake. Dont forget to check out the Babe Ruth photos to Mr Gyps near the back door.

Nothing beats a gyp stop after 18-36 up in the poconos. Grab a bud light bottle, a marlboro silver, and enjoy the scenic lake front view. Ty gyps.
