Loved this place for 15 plus years! The food is consistently delicious and the workers are friendly and attentive. I have never ordered something that I didnt like. I bring everyone I know here and they all love it equally as well. When I used to live closer I would get delivery and go to the lunch buffet. Love the options they have. Especially for me being a vegetarian. Everything is made fresh and flavorful! Even when I lived 45mins away my husband and I would drive for there yummy mali cofta! This place is the best!

I went there with a lot of other people and it was an okay place and the atmosphere was good but personally I did not like the food. I went for the buffet and I thought it was kind of bland, they did not have much of a variety. Not in my list of places to go out to eat. I do recommend Dabbawalla in Summit, NJ, though. It has great food and service, also amazing decor. Look it up... I think its a lot better than Neelam. (who knows: maybe the menus better) (if you go to dabbawalla try the mango lassie or fried okra)

Stale chutney with papads, malai kofta was served cold and was not even made on the same day. Not one entree we ordered tonight was freshly made. If I want to eat leftovers I would rather eat at my home than some substandard restaurant like this. I will never go back. Service was not so great either. We waited for almost 20 minutes after 3 or 4 reminders for check before we could finally pay! I would give 0 stars if I could but I guess I will reconcile because I actually ate my dinner there.

Great food!!! While the quality is mostly consistent, its the subtle differences in the usual Indian dishes that makes this place stand out. Definitely not sub-par food here. And theyll make anything to order. These guys like to take typical Southern Indian cuisine and actually make it better. Their korma sauce is really good. I only wish their meat dishes were a little cheaper compared to the quantity given. Some vegetable dishes are also a little over-priced.

Neelam is a great restaurant with tasty Indian food, but the service and customer importance take the cake. The dish was a bit spicy, even at medium heat, and immediately a new dish was made. We also got some free yoghurt to cool off the heat. Took some food home and was brought some extra Naan. I cannot say enough on how much the staff wants to make sure we were happy. While we were here there was a lot of traffic for take out, also a good sign. Give it a try.

Great service and excellent side dishes, including spicy squid kim chi, raw crab, etc. Ordered the spicy seafood hot pot and they were very generous.. There was crab and lobster inside.. What a pleasant surprise! The soup was delicious and when I asked for more soup at the end, our server poured a huge bowl of spicy soup! Pretty much stayed there for 2 hours and only paid $40 plus tip and tax total for a large hot pot! Def coming back!!

This restaurant is one of the best indian food I have had in long time. Its authentic Indian food, not the usual greesy indian food you find at most Indian Restaurants. Food is not loaded with spices to give flavor, proper ingredients are used. Very cozy setting as well. BYOB is definitely a plus. Staff is very nice and helpful. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for Indian food in nj.

Could have been better in terms of food quality. Ordered paneer tikka masala and it seemed paneer was painted with red color and not oven baked also the gravy was runny and tasteless. With a little more effort could have been much better.

Above average Indian restaurant, and the only one in the area, but there are better nearby. Raagini in Mountainside and Moghul in Moristown (and Edison) are both better, but Neelam is very good...especially for their prices.

Pretty average food. Chicken tikka masala watery and tasteless, over cooked samossas, and they were put into a to go container that they melted. Id eat there again but only if I had no other options. Sorry!

Ive only been for lunch, but my wife and I always enjoy it. Not the best vegetarian options oddly enough, so I dont enjoy it as much as she does. Shes quite the fan of their tandoori chicken though.

Worst Indian food I have ever had in US. I am an Indian, I visit Indian restaurants often. The food Neelam serves is worst, doesnt even match the food name mentioned in their menu card.

The food here was very good. It is one of the best places in the area. However, the service was okay, seemed to be a little distracted.

In 2002 discovered the back half of a black, beetle-like insect in my rice. Havent returned, but the food was good up to then.

Not a very large buffet selection but the food is delicious. The naan bread is a little too plain and too thin for my liking.

From the tandoori chicken to the basmati rice and tikka masala, offers solid not-too-spicy Indian fare.
