This place is way over hyped. They have obviously gotten to comfortable since being an Avalon institution. The place feels old, tired and dirty with the exception of the north side of the building. They overload the bar with people to the point you cant even move. This becomes a pain when trying to get a drink because they run a cash only business and the atms are hard to get to in the crowd. Someone needs to get Job Taffer in here and do a bar rescue! Ive never had the food here, so I cant comment on that.

Pros: atmosphere, waitress was attentive and knowledgeable Cons: terrible, overpriced food, experience Fish tacos were dry, bland, and repulsive. Crab cakes were better, but burnt and bland; $30 for 2 small crab cakes and a few stalks of asparagus. And Im not sure which was harder: the dinner rolls or the unspreadable butter. The laminated menus were worn and disgusting. The bars focus was on fancy, sugary cocktails - the drink menu didnt include any beers, spirits or even non-alcoholic drinks

Welcome to Avalon NJ. The town with some of the worst restaurants Ive encountered in a long time. Princetown no exception to this. Lousy hamburger, overcooked and foul tasting, they forgot yet charged for the fries, fish taco - get out your magnifying glass boys and girls to make aure you dont miss the morsels that are the fish they claim in the tacos. How do places get away with such mediocre food at a time in our society where food channels take over the networks.

Over priced and mediocre food. My daughter asked for the turkey sandwich and they werent sure if the "chef" would put it on a roll instead of a wrap. This is the same guy that overcooks the beef and serves bland scallops and with French fries. Please let him know the Red Lobster may be hiring. The 2 stars is because the place is really cool cooling and "bird" the waitress was amazing!

Depends what you are going here for. Dinner is good, plenty of options. The nightlife/bar is a lot of fun and picks up big time on the weekend. Multiple bars, live bands, DJ, dance floor, etc. A great place to hit when in Avalon. One negative - if you are taking kids, beware that refills arent free. Found that one out the hard way.

The dinner menu here was awesome, great selection of items. All the food was delicious. Both bars get crowded quickly on the weekends. Great atmosphere before the music really starts going. May seem pricey but everything is on par for the area. Service is very professional Two thumbs up!

Fantastic cucumber Gin cocktail With (**Whistling Andy Cucumber Gin**) "Farmers Daughter" super light refreshing and delicious! I could crush these all summer.... Greg "The Mayor" is the man. Thank you so much for the amazing cocktails. Had the best experiences!!!!

The service was great, the appetizers where great, the main course....not quite as great. Filet mignon overcooked and somewhat bland and rice extra crunchy. Our server, Ann, fixed it pretty quick though. I will probably give them another try in the future.

Actual service with real tableware. One of the few establishments we visited in Avalon or Stone Harbor that didnt use plastic on the table. Solid flavor and good portion size. Server wasnt in a rush to get back to their phone.

Great bar just crowded. Young crowd and very hard to hold a conversation there or even or a beer. Will go back for day drinking but night time yeah right. Someone will get to fight you at night young young crowd.

Food is good, but very expensive. Healthy dose of liquor in mixed drinks. Can get very loud and difficult to hear those at your table. Great bar scene for weekend nights, and offers a shuttle to those who drink.

The Princeton has been around a long time. With a beautiful face life years back it is the place to go in Avalon. Great oysters and raw bar. You get a good meal . They do have to work on there desserts.

Great remodel but the food is ridiculously overpriced. We ordered an $11 bowl of crab soup. It turned out to be a cup. The oysters rockefeller were cold and dry. Stick to beer when you go.
