Update: We originally had a terrible experience (below), but the management reached out to us and tried to make it right. We went there for a second time and had a much better experience. The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food was delicious and the drinks were even better. Everything from appetizers to dessert was way better than expected. Our waitress, Kat, was especially awesome. We would definitely recommend this restaurant, and will be happy to sine there again. Before: We tried to enjoy a restaurant week meal to see how good this restaurant was. We were seated quickly and waiters and waitresses walked by and smiled and talked to our toddler. That was fine for the first ten minutes, but for the next twenty it became clear that no one was going to take our order. At this point, we were so hungry and tired of waiting. We stopped the next person that walked by and said we were planning to leave because we had been seated for 30 minutes and still havent even ordered drinks. He said, oh, sorry and just stood there. So, we got up and left. Needless to say, we wont be returning any time soon.

This was one of my favorite stops when I went to Atlantic City for trade shows. The last 2 times Ive gone, its been horrible. This last time (Friday), we were served a cold burger, cold fries, and cold steak sandwich. The steak sandwich looked and tasted like shredded Steakum. But, hey, the $4 extra we paid for the onion rings made sure they were hot. We were seated at 1:00 and didnt get our food for another hour. We left at 2:15. The fries were about the same as getting Ore Ida batter fries. Like I said, I used to love going there. They had good FRESH food. This is the last time Im going. Over $30 for food (and thats with the manager knocking off 15% for it being COLD) that we could have gotten at a fast food place. Oh, yeah... No free refills on soft drinks. They suck and rip you off. One other thing I should say, the table next to us send their plate back. A couple table over did the same. That says it all. I hope they post, too.

A very classy brewpup, with a bit of connection to American history. Had the California Burger and the seasonal Bock. Both very excellent. The burger roll is a bit big to get into your mouth, but that seems a sorry thing to knock them for. The burger was served with a generous portion of battered fries and a pickle spear. Really, only good things to say about the food. Sandwich prices range from $8 for the basic burger to $14 for the monstrous 1lb burger. Coworkers had the PHD (Piled High and Deep), a really delicious looking turkey club. Theres a bar, I dont know how its selection is to be honest, but you shouldnt care: They microbrew their own stuff. A few ales and a stout available year-round with a couple seasonals thrown in. As I said, we all got the Bock and were very pleased. Excellent accompaniment to a hot burger. Great place for a business lunch. You can park right across the street, and they validate the stub.

Came in the required door had to walk through the bar and through some seating tables to stand in the lobby where it took them 10 minutes to seat us because they thought we looked like we were waiting for somebody else (no..we looked befuddled as they stood there finishimg thier conversation). Then we choose our own seats anyway. Our beer was not cold , and the food was mediocre at best. The warm goat cheese souffle with greens and hop vinegrette was served cold no vinegrette on the undressed greens and when i asked for additional dressing, she brought me a super strong over powering salad dressing. . . We wont return. Its a shame the beer list has whittled down to nothing (I attended the grand opening) and the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired.

Completely underwhelmed. Ill start from the door. The hostess had an unpleasant attitude. Waitress was pleasant, but only because we saw her maybe five times. The beer was exceptionally disappointing. I was expecting beer that is named for the beloved Marine Corps to be somewhat pleasing, but I was sadly mistaken. The rolls were burnt and tasteless. The mashed potatoes reminded me of something you would get in a TV dinner. The asparagus was undercooked. The steak was tough and tasteless. Spent over $100 dollars on dinner for my wife and I. We most definitely will never return. An establishment named after the birthplace of the Marine Corps should hold itself to a higher standard.

The hostess told me to go to McDonalds. Im staying at the hotel upstairs, and my 3 year old was hungry. Hes a picky eater and wanted some fries. So I went downstairs to get him some. I asked the hostess if they do take out, that I just wanted fries and she told me to go to McDonalds. I asked her if she wouldnt sell me any fries, and she said she would but I would have to get an entree. So I asked for the menu, she hesitated to give it to me. When she finally did, as I was trying to read through it, she said, you should just go to McDonalds. Very unpleasant experience to say the least.

Nickel and dime you for everything. Refill on your soda sir? That will be $2.33 you want fries with your burger? That will be an extra $4.00 this kind of pricing is tolerable if the food is spectacular but it was not. The burger bun was good but the burger itself was thin and seemed like a frozen shipped in patty. I asked about it and the server said they were shipped in fresh every day. I dont know where they came from but the should source new ones or make in house for the price. This restaurant is surviving on its location alone. Cant comment on the beer as I was the DD.

I dont drink so I am not going to review the beer; however, my husband brews his own and he said that the beer was standard. Overall the service was good. We were seated quickly and got our order fast. The food was delicious. I had a mishap ordering, though so I have to knock off a star for that. I was ordering and I wanted to substitute crab fries instead of fries and the waitress thought that was all I wanted so that is all I got. I had to split my husbands burger.

We went to the Tun Tavern during this past holiday season. The food took forever to come out, was ridiculously priced, and the upper management was rude and disrespectful to their waitresses and customers. As said below, I have also heard of terrible experiences with the owner of the Tun. Just not a friendly place to eat. Would not recommend to any friends, family, or anyone. Youll walk out hungry, depressed, and broke.

Listen up. So anyway, this resterant was horrible! 8 dollars for 4 crap chicken tenders?!? Also, the "hot" wings were even hot! They sucked! And when someone tried to order the Devil Dog Pale, they said they were out! Like, come-on! And the people next to us were complete idoits! Cursing, you name it! Please dont come in if you really are hungry! Plus, no refills! Not a "family resterant"...
