After my experience at this establishment I was not completely satisfied, although there were some positives like a great atmosphere and decent service, there were definitely more negatives. The food and quality were average compared to most mexican establishments ive been to. However i was mainly concerned with the portions of the appetizers and even the entrees. I ordered an appetizer which cost my party of 3 10$, we ordered the quesadillas and it was only 6 pieces which were the smallest quesadilla slices i have ever seen in my life. About the size of a silver dollar with just cheese filling. After paying 10$ for an appetizer that wouldnt even be enough for a young child, I ordered my entree which was a mexican steak which cost me 16$, which was a reasonable price, however there were clearly not enough steak, and barely any rice or beans, and didnt even bring out the salad it came with. I am not a big person of any sorts but it was sad to see me along with my party of 3 leave the establishment starving, in all i liked the vibe and atmosphere, however the service was average, and the food quality and portions were ridiculously small, if u want a small lunch then be my guest but i would not recommend for a family dinner.

Went there last night with my wife and daughter. Without a doubt the worst meal we all ever had out. This was shocking because it came highly recommended. I had the carne asada tacos, which has only dry overcooked, unseasoned tasteless meat with cilantro. No cheese, nno sauce, no nothing. bland, and awful. pretty much the same for my family also. My daughter had some shrimp meal loaded with mozzerella !!! what?? truly awful and disappointing. also, it was louder than bombs in there. I asked for the manager and got an "hes not here". the server asked me what was wrong and I told heer and she simply said, "Im sorry". I wanted to give it 0 stars but It wont post unless I give it at least one.

La Tapatia is a really good place to go eat or even just buy some beers or snacks. I personally really like it. Yes, I am Latina but I dont usually like to eat at hispanic places because I dont really understand when they would talk to me in Spanish (would think Im fluent in Spanish;because both my parents are Mexican [Im still learning]). Or like usually Hispanic eating places are a bit loud & I personally like it to be a little quiet, but at the Tapatia all my problems are solved. I love it here. And you have to admit that Mexican food is really yummy. Ugh yes Gorditas, or tamales, or Pozole. Ugh yes. BRUH its so fucking good.

I want to be up front and state that the one star review is for service. La Tapatia had been my go to Mexican food joint for many years as the food was either very good or excellent, but a little inconsistent, the drinks were great and the prices were fantastic. Favorite items were the margaritas, el mocahete and alambres mixtos. In the past couple of years the prices have increased remarkably and the service gone way downhill. At one point, the bartender was waiting on our table. He proceeded to sit down at the next table with somebody else and eat his dinner and ignore us. We will never return and mourn the loss of a favorite.

Went here a second time and service was not the greatest. I asked what the tortas came w and the man working the register became very impatient. He also didnt give us the bowls for the beans, I had to ask for them. I also ordered a mango aguafresca and he said, "thats not mango its passion fruit" in a slightly rude tone. (Mind you Ive had that same mango water before). Well the water was indeed mango and not passion fruit as he had corrected me. The torta was just ok - the meat needs seasoning. The beans are amazing, though. I will give it another try.

Every time we visit family in the area we eat at El Tapatia. The food is excellent and the service is great. Ive yet to have a dish I wasnt happy with. Both the restaurant and the cafe in back of the grocery store are good. They are family friendly too.

Strongly recommend this place. Staff is well trained and professional, prices are acceptable, service smooth, the place is clean and oftenly crowded. They serve liquor. And most importantly, the food is amazing; presented in big portions. Good job!

The pork soft tacos and the wings with a hint of spice and pineapple are unforgettable. Best Mexican place u can find AND they have a liquor license. Margaritas all around. Now tappa to it.
