Ive been to this restaurant a total of three times and I must say that I loved it the first two times. But then something horrible happened. I asked an older woman, who was a worker.. maybe an owner, for chips and salsa. She came to my table with a basket of chips, but with no salsa in her hands. She then reached to the table behind mines, and gave me the salsa from the group of people that sat behind me who had just left. Now, I could understand if it was bottles of salsas, but the salsas are served in bowls with spoons. So basically it was fine for me to eat off someone else who I did not know. I was so shocked and delirious that my life flashed in front of me after seeing her do this, that I was denying the fact that she did what she did! I asked her if the salsa was from the other people and she confidently said "Yes." So I told her I was going to leave and to cancel my order and I did. On another note, the super quesadilla is big and only cost about $3.99; very flavorful and its sad to say that I will miss it. If they are doing this with the salsas, just imagine what they are doing with the food. On my second visit to this Chinese-Mexican restaurant, I noticed that some of the spoons that came with the salsa seemed like they had been used so I probably ate after some body else! I wanted to give this place 2 stars for the great tasting food and how confident and brave that woman was to say "yes" after I questioned their cleanliness, but it makes me angry of how unsanitary they are. Also, they have many kids running around the place like a daycare. There were toys in the bathroom and all over the restaurant so if nobody likes kids or dirty, picked over food, then DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!

I visited the Shanghai Garden restaurant on an early Saturday afternoon (about 1pm). When I entered the restaurant, I immediately noticed that four tables had not been cleared of dirty dishes, utensils, and used napkins. There was food on the floor that appeared not to have been swept or mopped in quite awhile. Their "decor" consists of dirty sombreros nailed to the walls & peeling paint on their front windows. I did not order food. I instead got a can of soda from the cooler, which wasnt cold at all but just cool, and noticed an open unmarked pitcher of mystery liquid on one of the shelves. The more I looked around, the more gross stuff I saw, and I was so appalled that I contacted the Health Department. They prob. wont be in business much longer, the place is so incredibly disgusting.

This place is my neighborhood go to spot when I need a quick bite or want to feed the family something tasty, fast, and cheap. The mexican food is simple and freshly prepared. The meats are all cooked in house from whole ingredients, nothing processed or frozen here. The chinese side is just ok but will do in a pinch. The best thing here are the tacos. Cheap and excellent, bulging with meat and toppings. The place is family run, dads cooking and mom and daughters are out front, and yeah its nothing spectacular but they remember you. If you want fancy go somewhere else, but if you want fantastic homemade style mexican cheaper than anywhere else in town, this is the place for you.

The restaurant itself is not owned by Chinese. The locale consists of a Mexican restaurant and the other half the Chinese portion. They are both combined under the same roof. I ordered sweet and sour chicken. While definitely edible, it was very different from every Chinese restaurant Ive ever tried. The fried rice was more like the rice served when at Mexican restaurants, and with good reason as the same kitchen is used for the Mexican half of the restaurant. While not entirely terrible, I cannot recommend the food here.

Hilarious I read some reviews here complaining about flies landing on their food, which i had the unfortunate experience of. Dont get me wrong the food isnt horrible but the environment and flies just kills the whole thing, they could do much better.
