You have absolutely got to go back at least 10 * to try everything that is a perfect "10" on mine and my wifes list. First off dont let the best burnt ends in the galaxy throw you off. 1 night I dared to venture from my norms I got the steak. Let me tell you, aside from being single handedly the best barbeque place in kansas city (martin city) their steaks and rack of lamb can and do knock all other steakhouses their faces. But ther burnt ends are were burning down rome! And the ambience is just what you expect from a barbecue joint, but their food puts them a and star rating......... And for heavens sake, if its all you get, dont forget the beans and coleslaw. And if you have room get some of those onion rings in you. Not just my favorite place in kansas city to eat at, my favorite place in north america to eat at when I said 28 dollars for normal price that included several beers

Face down in pulled pork is how I celebrated my Sat. night in KC at Jack Stacks. Oh yea, a cheesy potato side, a bottle of red wine and my lovely lady Anne who loved the Kansas City Strip Steak. What could be better? Well an amazing carrot cake for one! Clint, our waiter, gave us the health pitch, we caved only to find that the carrot cake is really a cake! A round cake with icing. Beautiful, hot, delicious, and more tasty that any carrot Ive munched. Pulled pork dinner is not on the menu but I asked, they fixed it up for me. The menu is quite extensive so youll find great food for all but if you are here for the first time, do the BBQ. The pulled pork came with none. I choose the zestier sauce which brought together hot and sweet in just the right combo. Eager for our next visit to KC and Jack Stack. In the meantime please do yourself a favor. In Peace.. Bob

My colleagues are visiting from Cambridge and looking for a good barbeque restaurant in Kansas City. I sell them on Jack Stacks and all are now exited to go. Now Im calling them to get a reservation for 9 people. The wonderful front desk person tells me that I cannot have reservation since they wont take reservation for parties of less than 10 people. I tried to talk to a manager so that I can convince them that 9 and 10 are not too apart! But after they put me on hold for some time, came back on the phone and said all of them are busy. If I wanted to talk to them, I should call back in 30 minutes. Im surprised to experience such a bad service and attitude from a restaurant who claims great service. I will have to find another place for tonight for my friends since my goal is for them to have a great experience with their Kansas City visit!

Jack stack is the top of the line for Kansas City BBQ in my opinion. While we have some other excellent barbeque in KC, my favorite continues to be jack stack. I love the burnt ends, and the Hatfield sandwich is another favorite. Cant decide whether you want fries or baked beans? Then ask for a 1/2 order of each. They will do that for you, and trust me, you need to try the beans. Their beans are cooked under their meats and the juices flow into the beans. Absolutely awesome beans. They also have cheesy corn and cheesy potato side dishes that are also quite tasty. If you like appetizers, they do fried mushrooms that are gigantic and stacked onion rings that are incredible, especially when paired with the Jack Stack BBQ sauce. Jack Stack Barbeque is a true five star place in my book!

My wife and I visited this Jack Stack on February 28th for our 7th Anniversary. Just so much good to say about this place. We were sat at a nice quiet table (thank you!), and everyone was super friendly and accommodating. We both ordered the Jacks Best, and it came fast, hot, and cooked to perfection. We finished the evening with the delicious carrot cake. The server we had, Mitzi, is a real gem. She overheard us talking about wanting to try the lamb ribs on our next visit, so she brought us one to try. I almost wish she hadnt since that one lone lamb rib seemed to overshadow what was already an absolutely fantastic meal. We will be going back for the lamb very soon. I hope everyone who goes to Jack Stack in Martin City has the same experience we did. In a word - Sublime.

Storme Blankenship. He went WAY above the call. I brought in 15 patrons at 11:45am calling ahead at 10:30. Unfortunately another group of 15 from my company also came in. Our table was erroneously given to the other party and we arrived shortly after. We didnt have unlimited time, but it didnt pay for us to be upset. They got us seated in ~ 10 minutes. Then, we were offered appetizers (3 different apps per each table), which were comped. We ordered our food and it arrived VERY quickly. Halfway through Storme told me the entire meal would be comped. That was totally unexpected and very much appreciated. Weve been to this location (Martin City) several times in the past and routinely take business visitors there. We will continue as they obviously appreciate return customers...

If there is one barbecue place in Kansas City that you absolutely must visit, make sure that it is this one. The food is moderately expensive, and the place can be somewhat crowded on a busy night. But for what you pay, you get twice as much back in terms of quality. And it shows itself not only in the food, but the staff as well. Both kept me happy long after I left, and I can definitely say that I am proud of having been here. It is a place to remember --- please do not miss it. If you are a light eater, I suggest that you bring a friend (or two) along as the portions are quite big for what you pay for. I also recommend getting an appetizer of onion rings, which are amazing in their own right.

Our family lived in Belton, MO for 3 years. In that time, we fell in love with Jack Stack BBQ and dreaded leaving (for a few reasons, but BBQ being one of them). Anytime we travel through the KC area, we always stop to enjoy our favorite meal! Yesterday, we were blessed to be able to join a few of our extended family for dinner at our favorite BBQ restaurant. They were extremely accommodating to the back and forth of how many were expected to join us. They went above and beyond with being sure I didnt have cross contamination with my allergies and they took great care of everyone at our table! We had 16 in our party. We will always be back!

One of my favorite places to eat. These guys do BBQ right. Their beans are some of the best on the entire planet. The thing that makes me a little disappointed is theyre trying to dress up BBQ. The Martin City location is great and its been that way for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, I live close to the plaza, where they took over the old KC Masterpiece location and they took the "joint" out of BBQ, which is sad. Aside from that, the help loves what they do and these guys offer everything and items youve never thought of as BBQ. Its worth it, but some of my 4 star joints convey more fun and far far more casual.
