I regret writing this review because of the many other times I have gone to Friends, but my recent experience has definitely ruined it for me for a while if not for good. The sushi has always been great and was still this time. The woman who runs it as well as the hostess were very kind as usual. However, the server who serviced me and my mothers table tonight was far from acceptable. I am in the service industry and understand what service is supposed to be. This was nowhere close. We had marked two rolls that we believed we would be getting as hand rolls. When our food was brought out, there was our sushi and two rolls. There were no hand rolls, so I assumed they would be brought soon. As I realized they were not brought, I caught the servers attention and inquired about them. He said we did not order two hand rolls, just the regular rolls. He showed us our order which was not even the correct sheet that we had marked. We reiterated how we had marked them on the other sheet and thought we were getting hand rolls. He did not attempt to explain anything or check in on it beyond bringing only one of the order sheets back. Then he reached over us, grabbed up the menu roughly and slammed the two bowls of soup we had drank together and walked off. At this point I had had enough. My mother is too kind to say anything, but I will not stand for such rudeness. I then went up to him near the sushi bar and explained that his reaction was extremely rude, to which he rolled his eyes, and that we had ordered two hand rolls. Assuming I was asking for a refund he snapped back with how we are eating two things we ordered and now want it back. I cut him off and said that I was not asking for a refund, but only that I wanted our check and a box. He did not apologize and quickly grabbed them and shoved them off on me. I went back up to the table, at which point the woman who owns it came up and asked about it. We explained the situation and she went and got the correct sheet, though a blank one. She asked if we had circled hand rolls on it, since apparently marking it just meant we wanted regular rolls. I said we had not but that that was never explained to us and he never attempted to explain it. We told her the issue was how rude he was, not that there was a mix up with the order. She apologized but did not offer any money off the bill or compensation. The server never came back up to apologize or say anything further. At that point we left. I do not get to go out to restaurants hardly ever. I am always on the service side, so when I do get to go out it is a huge treat. When I do go out, I tip around 30% at least because I understand the small wages we all get. This then blows my mind that he made no attempt to correct the situation, seeing as how his tip depended on it. I am upset that my mothers experience was ruined as well as mine. WIth that kind of attitude, this "server" would work better at a dive bar than a restaurant such as Friends. I did not get his name, but he has medium length blonde-brown hair, a beard, and glasses. For any of you planning a visit and receive him, be sure to read the menu and walk him through your order step by step. Otherwise your order will be messed up and I guarantee there will be no effort made to correct it and you will get nothing but rude retorts and eye rolls. I love Friends Sushi and enjoy going to the dollar sushi nights when I can afford it. After this experience, I will not be returning for a while if at all. I feel bad for the other workers at Friends because they have been delightful people and do not deserve to have such a person ruining their reputation.

Wonderful food. Crappy service. My first time eating here was Monday 6/5 with a friend and husband. Our friend asked for a slice of lemon in a bowl to mix with the sauce. When she gave him the lemon she slammed it down on the table. When she asked if we were ready to order we said yes. She then collected the menus from our table. When she asked us what to drink my husband was still undecided and asked to look over the drinks on the menu. She gave us a menu back, rolled her eyes and walked away. When we were finished eating we were still hungry. Instead of ordering more from the menu we left and went to a BBQ place a couple miles away rather than dealing with our waitress again. My second time there was Monday 6/12 with my husband. We decided to give this place another shot. Maybe the waitress the first time was having a bad day. We were certain if we had a different waiter/waitress that we would have a better experience. But of course we were serviced by the same waitress that gave us the same type of experience. I would stop using "she" but she never introduced herself. She made us feel unwelcome there. Like it was a huge inconvenience that she had to service us. Never did she smile or asked "how is everything?" or "can I get you anything else?" Its disappointing to leave such a low star review because the sushi here is amazing.

Tonight I learned about this wonderful little Sushi place called "Friends Sushi & Bento Place"... a quaint little sushi restaurant that had delicious sushi, a wonderful ambiance, with great service & I also appreciated that it wasnt overcrowded...now granted it was a Tuesday night, but either way, I had such a very lovely time! And one more thing it was really nice to find a place with such great service and food as I was afraid I wouldnt find a new Sushi place that was as good as the few I loved in my old town in Southern California; as Im a little picky when it comes to a good sushi restaurant! Although, i will also include that I wouldve loved if the sushi rolls that came with tempura would have had a thicker shell of the tempura...since that is what I am used too! :)

Went there to celebrate a friends birthday. The wait was long, but it was a Monday, so to be expected. The food was great! I ordered the shrimp tempura roll and the sweet potato tempura roll. I really like the shrimp, just the right amount of crunch. The sweet potato was okay, but probably would not order again. Service was decent, lots of people filling up our waters which was great. The only downside is that we wanted to sit and chat and were deciding on dessert when the server asked us to leave because of the line of people waiting to be seated. There was no line. That was disappointing because the evening was going so well. Probably wont go back on a Monday.

Went on Monday night for the $1/piece sushi and $3.99/roll. We were asked to wait 20 min, but only had to for 10 which was great. Sushi was barebones (which was to be expected for the deal) and all the raw fish was warm. Main waitress seems grumpy, never made eye contact, introduced herself, or said anymore than ready to order. Other staff who came by to fill our waters were generally friendly. The deal wasnt great and the prices would be too high for a normal night. Probably wont be returning. Unfortunately, I left the place with a bad taste in my mouth and feeling sick from the warm sushi.
