Came here on a recommendation and was pretty excited, especially because the cause and advocacy underlying the Fresh Grounds mission. Absolutely deplorable drink, ordered a simple 16oz latte and it was more than half milk foam (not even quality microfoam). Same exact thing with a hot chocolate ordered by my friend. Im sorry, but having been a barista for years I know that a latte and hot chocolate are mainstays that are a MUST to perfect and the easiest drinks to make. I may have been able to let this slide if any of the staff was friendly and made us feel welcome, but that was also too much to ask for. There was no friendly engagement or relaxed patience and I definitely wouldnt recommend this coffee shop to anyone. I appreciate the mission and fully support it, but there is training for a reason to ensure consistent, quality product, as well as a need for people skills when baristas are considered for hire. Otherwise customer satisfaction will never be achieved. Even in the little bit of time I stayed in the shop another customer had some pretty serious concerns about half and half, refusing to purchase anything until they accommodated her and she talked to the manager. I hope all the issues that are so apparent at this business will be addressed!

The coffee is good. I understand that prices have to be high for overhead, etc., but the service was rather snobby. I felt like I was being a bother to order a coffee. I walked up to the counter, and the guy just stared at me waiting for me to order. No "hi, can I help you?" or "what can I get for you?" There was this awkward silence as I waited for some prompt from the employee to indicate he was ready for me to order. Maybe Im not a regular and therefore dont deserve courtesy, but they arent going to acquire more regular customers if they dont drop the attitude. Jesus, I would expect a little courtesy when I pay $4.50 for a cup of coffee. They have Sebastian Joes ice cream there, too, but I wont be returning to try it, despite the fact that I drive by here 5 times a week.

I come here a couple times a week - its my neighborhood coffee shop and it definitely has a neighborhood feel. I see Shannon every morning I come in, shes the best! And who can complain about 2 dollar any size lattes on Tuesdays and Thursdays? Sometimes there are food mix ups etc, but please remember there is a lot of job training going on.

Ive seen the manager prepare food without washing her hands - ew!! If you came here for lunch, a soup or a sandwich, Id recommend J.R. Macs which is right across the street. Not a coffee shop, but much more professional in quality, and the food is way less expensive.

There is an opportunity to improve public transit along the West 7th Street corridor by building streetcar or light rail, but this company is advocating against it. They have an anti-rail poster in their window. I cant recommend this place.

Great coffee. Chill atmosphere. Personable staff. Delicious food. ICE CREAM!! Good music. The one thing that would make this a better coffee shop is if they stayed open later. Otherwise keep up the good work.

Very modern and spacious. Proudly brews Starbucks coffee which is awesome. Staff was very nice and service was quick. They also have a small parking lot which eliminates annoying street parking on a busy road

Drove by and saw the Sebastian Joes sign in the window and assumed that a a local cafe would also support a local coffee vendor like Dogwood or Spyhouse. The food menu however seemed reasonably priced.

Loved the atmosphere but they serve Starbucks coffee. The sole reason I came here was to get away from Starbucks, so it was a let down to get the same old, run-of-the-mill coffee.
