Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club is quite possibly the best place to shoot clays in Minnesota. With its wide variety of courses there never seems to be a wait for a stand. Each course is unique and very in difficulty, and the landscapes change from Wooded Areas, to Open Fields, and Jaw-Dropping Water Overlooks. You have to see it for yourself its absolutely beautiful there. A side from shooting there I have also attended Weddings and other events that have been hosted there, and its always a great time. The staff are friendly and professional and make sure that everyone has a good time. Also make sure to come hungry because whether youre attending a catered event or just eating at Triggers the food is always amazing. I would give them six stars if I could!

I dont plan to renew my clays membership. Its too bad because its beautiful out there and the courses are well layed out. The equipment is mostly cobbled together, exposed to the elements and without fail not working. I have never one time ever been there and had all of the machines work, NOT ONCE. If you bring it up to the staff inside they do NOT care, if you dare ask for a partial refund...good luck. If you are going out to just shoot and dont care about a whole round it may not matter to you, but if you care about shooting all stations for a course do not plan on it. It would be simple to fix this, have someone drive the course a few times a day to check operation of all stations. I dont hold my breath of this happening.

I read the other reviews and had to write this. Its a hunt club. I had an event with 30 customers attending and had the best experience imaginable. The staff is super-friendly and accommodating. The food was great, now its not a 5 star restaurant. We had burgers and chicken sandwiches. I will defiantly go back, all 30 + of the attendees asked, "When are we going back?" The Horse and hunt has over 600 acres of the most scenic terrain in MN. My event was a huge success, we ate and shot sporting clays. Sounds like to me the other reviewers should go to an overpriced expensive restaurant...

The sporting clays are among the best you will find, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I have been there twice, most recently last weekend. The gentleman behind the counter was cold at best on both visits. Also, if you intend to have dinner, make sure you call in advance. It does not mention it anywhere on their webpage but if there is a wedding on site, the restaurant closes. This is quite disappointing when you drive an hour to shoot clays and have dinner. Between the jerk behind the counter and the closed restaurant, I will not be back.

Ive been here a few times to shoot sporting clays and each time the equipment seems to be in worse condition than the last visit. A few target throwing machines didnt work. The course is excellent. Nice idea. Poor execution. There are spent cartridges all over the ground and in the way at shooting stations. Needs a good clean up. Id rate 5 stars if these issues were resolved. I like the place and hope it improves. I used a Groupon that made the less than ideal experience easier to take. New clubhouse is very nice. The food was average.

Was there Wednesday night for rib special and they didnt even have all of the special on hand. We asked about why we didnt get part of the special and for extra toppings for our appetizer and were never given anything. We were there for over and hour and a half and were checked on twice and had to flag down are waitress anytime we wanted anything. Overall great atmosphere but not so great service....

I love this place! What a great place to take a client! I am not into golf so this is where I take my best clients. They always leave with a smile and a good time. The staff works hard to please members and the public. Its also a great place to train your dog and introduce a kid to the outdoors. Terry and the staff know their stuff. The restaurant is a bit out of the way, but worth the adventure.

Fantastic place to shoot clays. Great scenery and atmosphere. The restaurant had decent prices too. My only complaint is that the launchers failed multiple times and you still get deducted clays even though there was no clay to shoot at. There was not enough clays on the launch card to view at each one and compensate for the number of misfires from the launchers.

Have yet to visit, but if the experience is anything like what I just had on the phone while making the reservation Im not looking forward to it. I bought one of their coupons from CrowdCut for my wife and I and when calling to make the reservation the gentleman on the phone wasnt inviting and was quite short. Hopefully they are more hospitable in person.

Beautiful place! We enjoyed the shooting range for a couple of hours, then came inside for some drinks and food. The staff was wonderfully friendly and it was fun to sit around for a couple of hours. We will definitely be returning. We went with a friend who has a membership, I would definitely be okay with getting a membership here if we lived closer.

Use to be a shooters club - now every novice in metro shoots here- great that new people are shooting but there are no rangers watching these people with guns loaded - accident coming - many traps dont work- slowing down lines - shooters randomly shoot stations vs in order - slowing down lines and shooters Head to Caribou Gun Club if youre a shooter

These unethical people host pigeon shoots which is basically a senseless mass slaughter of pigeons that they shoot for practice. Please look up SHARK online that has opposed this unethical practice. Please do not patronize this business or Ducks Unlimited until they change their inhumane practice of pigeon slaughter.

Great place for sporting clays, trap, and skeet. Easy to get to from the cities but if youre coming from Saint Paul there is probably closer. 5 sporting clays courses and a pretty good pub for beers and food after shooting. More is available to members including a shooting range and hunting fields.

The courses are a lot of fun, but half the time we go here machines wont throw properly and there are so many shells on the ground at the stations you have to kick a bunch out of the way to get reasonable footing. Pick up the shells and it would be a 5 star. The restaurant is pretty fun too.

This place is unethical. The owner Bill Urseth is rude, and refusing to change his practice. This isnt real hunting, throwing ducks out of a crate so people can shot them is not hunting and you should be ashamed. Avoid this place like the plague it is.

A very cool up north woodsy atmosphere. Food is above average. Very masculine male dominated restaurant. Expect to see men dressed in flannel. Lots of animal mounts on the walls, and one large standing bear greets you at the entrance.

this is not a hunting club this is a place where pigeons crammed in crated are throw out into the air to be butchered by bird shot and the owner Bill Urseth has assaulted a woman recording him on public property
