I have gone to this place a handful of times, returning with the hopes of it being better but it seems to be getting worse. Prices for sandwiches are expensive and you hardly even get a sandwich. For example last Sunday I went in and ordered a Breakfast sandwich with Bacon and I only found one tiny bacon strip on the entire sandwich for my "meat" part of the sandwich. I also went in around 12:45 for my last visit and they had already closed down an entire section of the place 15 minutes before closing and began to remove the rugs 5 minutes before closing. In all honesty there is no need to be rushing to close early especially when there are still customers inside the store. The pastries are pretty good there, and the sandwiches too which is why I give this 2 stars instead of one. The sandwiches will not fill you up though and they are definitely not worth the price. I will give this location another go maybe a year from now and see if management of the store has changed at all.

This place is GREAT. Conveniently located, and their coffee is pretty darn good. The item we ended up getting was Caramel Rolls. In fact, we ordered nearly 100 of them for a wedding shower that occurred in just last week on 4-30-17 and they were AMAZING. They were finished on time, they were fresh, and they were simply amazing. It was kind of funny, of all the out-of-state family that we had in, they all commented about how the caramel rolls were particularly good. I grew up with a grandmother that REALLY knows how to make a caramel roll, and I didnt think that Edelweiss would be able to top her.... well it at least TIED. The caramel roll was not doughy like so many, but it was flaky and buttery - almost like a croissant. I would highly recommend Edelweiss to anyone looking for the Best bakery in the Twin Cities - although Im pretty biased as a local South-Metro person.

Terrible experience. Spent weeks planning a new baby reveal party. Extreme care keeping the babies sex a secret by having doctors seal a message for the bakery. After talking to the bakery owner about what we wanted, and explaining that it had to be kept a secret, we ordered from here. All was well until we picked it up. There, written right over the place on the ticket we are required to sign, they wrote the sex of the baby!... STUPID. Later, when we spoke with the owner about the big mistake, instead of an apology all they had the nerve to say was "congrats". frosting also taste like shorting. Lost this customer after 6 years of buying. Private business owner who has so little respect or care for his customers that they cant even apologize is just sad.

I ordered a Conformation cake for my son. The person that wrote up the order sketched out A Holy Spirit dove symbol. Which was exactly what I had requested. I was not elaborate, just the usual outlined dove image. When I picked up the cake the decorator apparently decided to not use the image. They drew a random bird which appears to be sitting on a nest ! I was so disappointed ! To make matters worse no one at the bakery bothered to call me back, I left 2 voice messages and an email ! Poor service. When I called to follow up with them 3 days later, I was told oh sorry, we dont typically do any thing custom, beyond a cross. They should have told me that when i ordered. In the future I will be ordering all my special occasion cakes from "Cakes by Jan"

Ok Im shocked. Went here because of the good reviews. Other item looked good but I had cake. First issue was I was told the cake had buttercream frosting. I got home and it was whipped cream. Didnt say a word. Had a cupcake next. I would like to challenge butter was in there. Ask for a list of ingredients. Cake was not fresh. Frozen I am guessing and later frosted with that stuff. Most of all the help was extremely rude. That is the reason I dont go back to try anything else. I see good reviews so I was going to try other items but that was a deal breaker

Holla atcha boi!! Youve gotta try the Caramel Roll.. get there first thing in the morning. Also, the Strawberry Chantilly cake is the best thing I have ever eaten: Three layers of cake with a white choc. mousse, a layer of fresh strawberries and a fancy raspberry jam. Had it for my graduation party and many people said it was the best theyve ever had. Owner is awesome and high spirited, and the atmosphere is great. Relaxed, homey feel; can be quite busy, but always worth the visit! And the breakfast sandwiches are fantastic!

Love this place. My wife and I own and an eye clinic and have purchased probably a thousand Danishes from Edelweiss which we drop off with our promotional materials at local businesses. The Danishes are ALWAYS a hit. Also, the service and atmosphere at the bakery are excellent. I would recommend this bakery to anyone just looking for great food and setting or for baked goods for your staff or business events. Dr. Steve

Hey serve the best donuts in all of prior Lake. They spend the most time and care on each and every order. Visiting edelweiss is the best experience when visiting prior Lake. They never have a bad deal not even at the busiest hours. My favorite drink they have an Italian smoothie (Strawberry). I recommend to get a fruit town square for a healthier yet still sweet early morning doughnut.

I used to work there for about 6/7 months. I loved the environment. The food is worth the price. They have the best bistro and bakery food Ive ever had. The staff are nice. Some of them werent all that great to work with but thats every job. Over all everyones very nice and communal. The perfect place to have a cup of coffee and doughnut.

We just moved here and it was our first stop in. We love it here. My husband and I will probably be coming here regularly. We love the breakfast sandwiches and all the pastries look amazing. The staff is super nice and so pleasant and the Bakery is so comfortable. I love the spot by the fire. This place is just wonderful!

The location is great and quaint. With that, we were expecting unique, high quality baked goods but were sadly disappointed with dry, meteocre treats. The staff did not seem very educated or enthusiastic about the menu or working. I only write this in hopes that changes are made because I wanted to love this place!

Love this charming place! I have ordered a quantity of whole wheat buns & pumpernickel buns for a garden party & they were delicious! We also have walked in to just order coffee to go. I have had some decaf with a little squirt of a couple different caffeinated coffees & thought it was wonderful coffee.

The atmosphere is quaint, most of the time. Staff is generally friendly and well-mannered, with an air of unexpected professionalism sometimes. The food, especially the sandwiches are great. Some of the creations are creative and possess a bit of a worldly feel to it.
