This looked to me like an ordinary hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. but we decided to try out the lunch buffet because, well, we had just bought some wiper blades at O Reillys and we were hungry. The dining room was spacious and attractive but there was initially no one to greet us. This was at noon on a Tuesday and there were just a handful of blue collar guys shoveling away the food at their tables with one guy who had his legs spread out across some chairs looking as seedy as he could. It appeared that there was only one waitperson and she seemed to be covering several jobs. On to the buffet which consisted of a 2 x 10 serving table, 1/2 with dull looking desert items, some fried stuff and the rest a few shallow dishes of standard Chinese American fare with a few items missing. They certainly werent expecting much of a crowd. Not a lot of food, not real hot, not very busy, not well staffed and not really that tasty. After finishing up, we waited up at the unattended front desk to pay. It was about 8 bucks - not expensive but I was left thinking that for a maybe a buck more we could have made a far better meal at any number of other places in the area. Its OK, but just barely.

We love Beijing Minnetonka, however, you must know the ins and outs to have a successful meal here. Most of their business is take out. Generally when we stop in, we might see one or two tables eating in the restaurant but there are usually several people waiting for take out. When call your order ahead, it is almost always ready in 10 minutes. We love the food and always order Hong Kong Shrimp. They make the best Wonton Soup in town. We have grown very found of the husband and wife who own Beijing. They always keep us coming back for more. (Side note, the lunch buffet is not impressive. I highly recommend ordering off the menu.)

Wanted to charge an exorbitant to subsitute their house fried rice (chicken, pork, and shrimp) (5 dollars more on an 8 dollar menu item)6 for chicken and beef only. Im allergic to shellfish and was suprised that no subsitutions were accepted for less meat overall. Go to dragon jade in the same area for better food, and better service. I tip dragon jade more for the cost that beijing would charge for the 2 meats. They are willing to work with special diets, and the service is amazing! Love the owner and its very close to this restaurant.

I ordered a large takeout house fried rice on a Sunday afternoon. There were no other guest around. I waited about 15~20 minutes. When I went home and open the box, I was very disappointed by their quality. There is almost NO meat inside. The take out menu indicate it has at least chicken and other meat, but I hardly find any obvious one. It taste almost like a vege fried rice. If you dont make good fried rice, at least you shouldnt cheat on it. Shame on you!!!!

Ive eaten here several times for lunch and dinner. Some of the dishes are very good (like the Sweet and Sour Chicken). The service is adequate at best and often brusque. Considering the quality, service and overall experience, dinner are quite expensive. I now drive to Eden Prairie for Pei Wei instead. The lunch buffet is an okay deal, but the selection is limited and the quantities sparing -- dont come late and expect to fill your plate.

Im biased because this place has been my go to Chinese spot for the last 20 years. The food is simple and always good. The service was wonderful and so friendly. If you want a great local place to grab some good food this is the spot.

Slow to be seated. Service offered no smile or welcome. I honestly wondered if she might hate me lol. The buffet was very small and offered a mediocre display at best. And the food was just plain BAD. We did not finish dinner. :(

Great food and friendly staff! Be sure to try the Black Pepper Chicken and an almond cookie for dessert! Will definitely be back when in the area again. Two thumbs up!
