Service: My family of four waited in the bar while we waited for a table. I walked up to the bar with my 8 year old son while my wife and daughter waited in the back of the bar. I ordered 1 Stella and another draft. Alyssa P (bartender) looks at my and asked me if one of the beers was for "him". I laughed said it was for my wife who is standing over there (and pointed). She couldnt see her so she walks to the end of the bar to look for her. This just was just very odd behavior. Did she really think I was getting a beer for my 8 year old? Dinner service was very good, spot on. Food: Back to my bar experience. The Stella was fresh, clean beer lines, and tasty. The problem I have is they charge $7.50 for one draft of it. Ive ordered Stella on draft at many other places and have never seen it that high in the midwest. The types of beer on tap are excellent if you desire quality beer. The Chicken Roulade was just ok. I didnt really taste the boursin flavor and I frankly found this dish bland. The garlic mash was fantastic as well as the asparagus. The Beef Stroganoff had too many noodles compared to the meat. The ratio was imbalanced. The meat was very good, just not balanced well with noodles. The sauce was ok, but not something I would order again. The big hit at our table was the kids meal. The kids ordered fish and chips and that was the best fish and chips I have had in years. The fish was fresh tasting, cruchy flaky shell, and hot and moist inside. The tartar sauce is unique and tasted fantastic. My wife and I wished we would of ordered fish and chips instead. Value: Drink menu not a value unless you came during happy hour. Food menu is about what you would expect for quality fresh made food. 2 Entrees, 2 Beers, and 2 Kids meals was $65. I would return but only during happy hour or to try the breakfast which we have not tried.

Id rather give it 3.5/5, but I like to round up. We found this restaurant on TripAdvisor, where it was well-reviewed and listed high on the Twin Cities restaurant ranking. The hostess and waitress both apologized repeatedly for the long wait, which was only about 20 minutes and not that bad in my opinion. Maybe its usually much busier. The restaurant was quite open, which helped with the noise level - there seemed to be a lot of families there with small children, but they never bothered us. After taking our drink orders, we had to wait a while for the waitress to return, and she was a bit absent for most of the meal, perhaps due to how busy it was. The cheese curd appetizer was very good, especially the sauce (which is a little spicy). We tried the chicken and waffles and the duck with polenta. The chicken and waffles was very heavy, and we were disappointed that a restaurant so well-known for its breakfast didnt use real maple syrup. The duck, on the other hand, was very good, if a bit over-salted. At the end of the meal, we got a slice of chocolate cake, which was HUGE and too much for three people after our meals, even though we each only ate half of our food. I might go back to try their breakfast, but not for dinner.

Id like to tell you about their food but we never got that far. This past Friday we arrived around 6:50 and checked in planning to eat and the catch an 8:20 movie. We were told there was a 25 minute wait which seemed ok. Then we sat and waited, and waited, and waited. A busy stream of people came in the door after us and the restaurant managed to seat almost all of them without ever getting to us. I guess they were waiting for a table just for two to open up but when 35 minutes went by and the staff was still assuring us thatll be just a few more minutes we got fed up and left. There was no way we were going to be able to be seated, eat, and still catch our movie after being brushed aside for that long. I know the groups that came in after us were larger, but some of them came in a good ten minutes after we were there already waiting and they were still seated before us. The staff needs to get their act together.

This is my favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities area. They arent the best in any one category, but they are great in every category. The food is the perfect mix of safe and adventurous. They put creative spins on comfort dishes and offer them at really reasonable prices. The happy hour is phenomenal, the beer list is well curated, and you will never suffer sticker shock when you get your drink bill. The staff is wonderful but there are some duds. One bartender in particular has given me the wrong beer on multiple occasions. Breakfast is out-of-this-world good. Brunches on special occasions (Mothers Day, Easter, etc.) is great too. Its served but is still all-you-can-eat. Want more of the baked Salmon? Just ask- theyll bring it out. When the wife and I are going out, we inevitably end up here more times than not. Its just too good at too good of a price served too well to not go back to again and again.

We loved this place!!! But within the las 4 months it has gone down hill at a drastic pace. We frequented this place all the time because of the beer selection, food, location and atmosphere. Sadly we havent had a decent food or service experience in the last 5 attempts. We come at different times and days hoping for the best! Today I biked up for brunch with my 6 year old son. We were settled right away on the patio at 12:15pm. I am now sitting here at 12:53 and just received the sweetener for my coffe that has been sitting here for 15 mins. I watched as our server Gary, moved at sloth speed to 3 other tables before even approaching ours. I am so saddened because I WANT this to be a good place. Management needs to turn a fire under the ass of their staff. As a veteran in the service industry and in this area the quality of service is better at McDonalds!!!!! Disappointed yet again!!!

3 Squares Restaurant in the giant Arbor Lakes retail area in Maple Grove provides a homey, comfortable setting for enjoying tasty American fare with a beer, wine, or cocktail at an affordable price. My partner and I were surprised that 3 Squares happy hour (8AM-11AM • 3PM-6PM • 9PM-1AM seven days a week), offers Freehouse tap beers for only $2.50 a pint. Part of the Twin Cities renowned Blue Plate Restaurant Company, youll find similarities in decor and fare with Edina/Longfellow/Highland Grills. All the Blue Plate locations offer a positive service culture and 3 Squares was no different. My bartender was excited that I requested the Portugal/Croatia Copa America soccer match on the bar television. Our poutine could have been a bit better, but this is a location to which we will return.

Weve been here a few times for breakfast and and once for dinner. The food is amazing. For breakfast my favorite, hands down, is the Huevos Rancheros, it has a wonderful smoky taste and just enough spice - you wont sweat, but the nose may think about running =). The salmon hash is also a fantastic breakfast option with a good portion of salmon but not overpowering. Definitely worth a stop for any meal. The staff has always been friendly, the service has always been well-paced even when its busy. The prices are reasonable and considering the portion sizes and the quality, Id expect them to be higher. 3 Squares is a good option for couples, business lunches, and families.
