Dinner and Drinks at the Wild Boar was a great experience overall. I was there on a Saturday during March Madness, so there were families and sports fans there alike. The place is huge - plenty of seating options to accommodate any sized party. Saturdays special was All-You-Can-Eat Fajitas, a pretty good deal at $14.99. Drinks are priced fairly and their large steins of beer were great. Plenty of TVs to catch the game. I ordered the Fajita Burrito with chicken and it was pretty good. It was a little heavy on the black beans, but had good flavor overall. One of my complaints was the staff behind the bar did not seem to get along. I caught myself many times eavesdropping on the bartenders and it was obvious that two of them did not like the other one. In any place of work, it is important to put on a good facade for customers. Also, for some reason Antiques Roadshow was on one of the TVs during the NCAA Basketball Tournament...

Everything was great until our server told us that she had to "leave to get ready to go camping the next day," our group was just about finishing up anyway,however,that comment seemed to suggest that we should pay and leave;didnt feel welcoming to say the least. Then to top it off, my friends and I saw her getting drinks at a bar down the road after we left--talk about getting caught red handed in a lie.I work in customer service and have never told my customers they should hurry up and pay so I can get to my personal life. Its your job to stay there until the customer is done. Ive been to the boar plenty of times and have had great service, and Im not suggesting the establishment itself has issues, but maybe its time to clean house.

Ive had lunch here a few times and it was good. I decided it would be fun to watch some march madness basketball after work last friday. The place was busy. After about 5 minutes at the bar the bartender tells me Im sitting in someones seat. I ask if the next one over is taken, he just shakes his head and walks away. I sit for the next 10 minutes watching him go around taking everybodies order but mine. He walks past me a number of times and doesnt even look at me. Finally I just leave. I dont know what the deal was here but I dont think Ill be going back to this place again.

In any good place of work I feel the server should know their menu and options for the items on the menu, I ordered the nachos and it came out looking like something i could have made at home plus the chips were stale. My server also brought out double the waters for the table and I have no idea why, and I pretty much had to walk him through the whole ordering process just so i made sure everyones food options for there meal could be made.

Use to come all the time for bingo, never going back again, im 52 wife is 41 server wouldnt sell us beer because wifes license was expired. Picture was clearly her, it was 2 weeks expired. Had she brought her passport, there would not have been an issue, but lets be real, if they can find an excuse to not serve they will. This isnt our first experience here with this. So done with it. All of Hopkins seems to be this way.

First and foremost there was not enough staff for the amount of people in the bar. If there are daily specials their should be staff to accommodate the busy times. The glasses of which you pour beer into is very dirty. Ran a napkin around the tip and you wouldnt believe the amount of dirty that accumulated. Server got our orders work 2 times. After serving us she quickly left. I seen 2 works for about 40 to 50 people.

I enjoyed my food thoroughly. Its exactly what I expected. The service was awful however. Our waitress clearly didnt care about a whole lot as she messed up both my brothers and buddys order (try writing it down, memorizing it is only impressive when you remember it). She took forever to do anything and never checked to see if we needed refills (my personal pet peeve). Ill be back but if I get her again, Im out!

I bought a groupon for here. Ordered the load mac n chz bites, the after taste was awful, I think they blue cheese in it? Regardless gross. The totcho was awful, the seasoned beef was wretched. I honestly didnt eat any of it and the waiter didnt notice. The place is a old sports bar and smells like stale cigarettes. The season sour cream in ny bf waffle fries was old tasting....never going back.

Sub standard service at most Had to chase server down to get helped and when asked for additional condiments they were never delivered. Felt like we were a burden to serve. Saw server dragging a trash can around and touching drinks and food after. Dont think I will be coming back anytime soon. Would have said something if the server had come back to see how things were.

Great food, great specials, strong drinks at an affordable price, BEST staff EVER! Wing Wednesday is a planned weekly event for me and my friends. Was a very regular spot while I lived in town and it wouldnt feel right if I didnt stop in to say hi and grab a drink or a bite whenever Im passing thru town. Just dont be a dick and youll quickly become like family :-)

For an out-of-towner, I was enamored by the lively crowd. Where I live you wouldnt see so much fun being had on a Wednesday. That feeling was only improved upon by the eclectic food choices and great beers. Many places in Minnesota carry local brews, but this place has enough to make the choice a difficult one. Hope to go back soon.

Recently went here for the first time and we had a great experience with excellent food and good staff. The sweet potato fries are some of my favorite - nice and crispy, but not burnt. Both of our burgers were amazing! Our waiter and the bartender were fun and made great recommendations and drinks.

Great place for specials, Monday and Wednesday night. A chicken wing eaters delight on - Wednesday Nights. Give it a go if you are looking for something to do. Service is a bit slow. Staff is hit or miss I have had great service and not the greatest service. Get there early and get a good seat.

The food was great!! I just wished it was a little quieter, but its a bar, so what else could I have expected. My server wasnt pretty attentive, which I usually enjoy, but was almost TOO distant. Nonetheless, Wild Boar is still a good place for daily specials!!

This is a great bar if you want to go and have fun. Theres always events going on with Bingo, meat raffles, and sports games. The food is good I havent had a bad meal on the menu. The only bad thing is the staff can be short handed at times when it busy.

Not a fan, tables are always reserved. If your not a regular you kind of feel out of place. The spinach dip was much different than other places so that was sent back and the bbq chicken was dry but the portions are big and theres a good selection.
